Charmingly decorated restaurant - a piece of Germany right here in Ormond Beach! It truly does look like an old hunting lodge - with charm. Gingham tablecloths, spacious room left between tables, so we didn't feel scrunched together with the other diners.
Excellent selection of wines and beers, so we sampled one of each. The chicken noodle soup and veal barley soup were well seasoned and served hot, the bread and cheese spread served with the meal are too good.
My husband had one of their schnitzels with hot German potato salad. I ordered a platter of bratwurst and knockwurst, which were served with a sweet sauerkraut, zesty German mustard and home fries that were well seasoned, with a slight vinegar tang. We tasted each other's food and agreed that it was ALL good.
For desserts, we ordered a Palacinka, a yummy Czech crepe with raspberry and chocolate sauces, and the traditional apple strudel, along with strong black coffee and a creme caramel.
The total for all of this was only $54, plus tip. We felt it was good value for the dollar, and you couldn't beat the taste of every item.
We'll definintely be going back for more.
