We thought this park was one of the better ones. We stayed over night in an RV. Very nice site, backed up to the ICW. Most things are nearby. We will be back!

We stopped in for a family picnic on a gorgeous Florida fall day last week. This a relative small park with campsites picnic areas and a boat ramp to launch your boat. They rent canoes and have limited snacks and camping supplies available at their 'Park store.' While kayaking or canoeing on the shallow waterways/marshes you may have mosquito problems, but if you venture onto the Halifax River, you shouldn't have this problem. There is some wildlife in the area, especially birds. Fishing is hit or miss, but crabbing has always been excellent.

I'd definitely recommend for a quiet relaxing day/night except the first week of March is Bike Week and the third week of October is Biketoberfest every year. Park becomes a paradise for motorcycle enthusiasts during this season.

This is a "MUST" if you are a nature lover. Motorcycle is better than a car -- you need to 'feel and smell' it. Perhaps a bicycle for the more ambitious. But definitely go --- and get out of the car!

Stopped here on a whim on the hottest day of the year in 2010, and decided to go canoeing. Despite the heat, it was a great adventure. They have canoes and kayaks to rent, and the prices are very reasonable.

There are great crooked old trees and the Halifax River, and a beautiful, if sort of crumbling sculture honoring native americans
