“Good hotel but average customer service and aggressive sales staff! BEWARE!”
Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

Our experience of this hotel itself was fairly positive- the rooms were large and clean, the amenities were great, and the location excellent....

However, the staff were not friendly or willing to help and often directed us to 'guest services'....this department is an UTTER JOKE and resorted to aggressive sales tactics to the point of almost intimidating us into parting with our money! We later found out from another guest that this department is not actually a part of the quality inn but of the Wyndham hotel also located on international drive. They pull you in by offering great deals on park tickets but then attempt to force you to attend a timeshare sales day!! From what we understood they take a 'deposit' for tickets of $450 and if you opt out of the scheme, give you a $100 gift card..where the rest of your money goes who knows!! Thank god we managed to get away unscathed! However, every time we walked through the lobby we were accosted by the same salesman named Greg who became angry when he realised we had purchased our tickets elsewhere!
If you do go to this hotel avoid guest services they are running a scam!!!!!! But this can be difficult as you need to arrange free park shuttles through them...and even then they try and offer you 'private' shuttles to places like universal studios for $51 despite this being a 20 minute walk away! Beware!
If you need tickets theres a little booth across the road from the hotel that offer great deals!

We have stayed here for the last 3 years and have never had cause to complain. We like the fact that security appears to be high priority for this hotel. On one of our stays, there was a storm in the early morning around 2 a.m. and we were watching from our part of the balcony and secuity were making a check around and asked if we were ok? Reception staff have always been professional and helpful though never really had cause to liaise after check in. We find the rooms clean. We would agree with other comments regarding the following:-
rooms can appear to need a little more lighting, air con is a little noisy. However, does this really impact on your holiday in Florida?! Maid service everyday, can vary slightly but have never come back to an unclean, unmade room. Supplies always left for us, eg coffee, cups, soaps, towels etc. Good value for money. Buffet breakfast and dinner has a varied menu and the servers etc are always pleasant and helpful and briefly stop for a quick chat. I have to say though it is worth venturing out and about to eat as there are good value eating establishments. We discovered Olive Garden this year and the food was lovely and good value for money, lovely soups and pasta dishes. Although we have used the pools we dont use the pools often or for lengthy periods of time mainly because I wish there were a few more sun brollies as I have very fair skin so need to have some shade but the pools look welcoming and clean. When we arrived this year we had to be upgraded to another hotel for 3 days and I was very disappointed not to be staying at Quality Inn. This actually spreaks volumes when you consider that we were upgraded to a place called Shingle Creek. (quiet impressive building). We were looked after very well and made very welcome. We then went over to Ormond Beach/Daytona side (staying at Quality Inn Suites - also good) and when we came back to Orlando we were still content to have left Shingle Creek behind to come back to Quality Inn (but thank you anyway for the experience!)
I suppose all reviews are subjective and there is always something better out there and based on what is important to you, but if you want value for money, hotel feeling secure, a level of cleanliness and somewhere relaxed and comfortable then this is worth trying. We hope to be back

Room Tip: We like the two storey building part of the complex overlooking the pool

Stayed here in August 2012. Rooms were quite big. Two double beds, wardrobe, draws, desk, flat screen tv, microwave, coffee maker, fridge, hairdryer. Fresh towels and bedding everyday. Rooms cleaned to high standard. Breakfast is amazing too much choice and excellent quality food and good service. There's a laundrette which we used. We only took clothes to last for one week so we could bring lots of shopping home with us. At reception they're very helpful with trips etc and the taxi service was excellent and reasonably priced. Free shuttle bus to aquatica and universal. Can't fault this place and would definitely return/ recommend :-)

Just returned this morning, Hotel rooms very clean maid service every day. Although would say rooms lack light, i dont know if its the dark furniture, air con is great but noisy. Staff throughout hotel very friendly and helpful. Apart from man on guest services trying to get you to a time share presentation by offering disney tickets at a discount price, when we said no he seemed a little angry and said if you change your mind its to late. Restaurant was ok food was nice but was not very hot. We went to walgreens for most of our essentials that was until we found walmarts which is our asda, its a good 15 minute walk but you save loads on things like pop and crisps which we bought every day it has everything. We ate at dennys twice for breakfast which was lovely. Macdonalds next door is so unorganised but do have lovely milkshakes. We found a lovely place to eat on stop 23 off the i ride trolley called the pub serves the best burgers, my husband tried the steak he said it was lovely but it was not a huge portion for a man. Went to cici pizzas once did not like it. Also grand corral which is buffet did not enjoy either. I did miss not having a cup of tea most places dont serve tea they bring you ice tea or black tea with a slice of lemon. You could get tea in mac ds and dennys, the hotel room only had a coffee machine no tea bags. We got a i ride ticket which cost us 18 dollars for 14 days you can ride up and down international drive unlimited which is good. We had to catch lynx 42 to get to florida mall which is 2 dollars each way, but its great theres a Macys where you can get some bargains. The outlets are good too. We took the free shuttle from the hotel to universal but its within walking distance or you can catch i ride to number 9 stop then walk it only takes 10 minutes, we walked back has first shuttle back is 19 00 its a very long day if you catch first shuttle. All in all i would return to this hotel has it has every thing you need including a pool what more could you ask for, teabags maybe just kidding english love there tea. What i loved about our holiday was everyone made us so welcome just a pity about the weather raining for 3 or 4 days. Cannot wait to return in the near future.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room across from pool was ok.

Don't expect anything fancy. It meets the basic needs especially if you are in the parks all day. It's a basic room and bathroom. The breakfast is not great. They serve very average food. You can tell the hotel gets a lot of use. They offer free parking.

It doesn't get any better than this for the money you spend. Outstanding value at this Quality Inn. Place is very well maintained, safe with 24 hour security, and in a perfect location in the heart of I-Drive with everything you could possibly need within walking distance. No complains from me!

We went to this hotel following a good review from a family member. We went here as a stop on our honeymoon.

Hotel was in great location, near lots of different shops, mini golf and food areas. It was also prime location for water parks and theme parks.

The room was clean but our bathroom handle had come off. The beds were comfy but the air conditioning was quite loud, when you are not used to it. The pool area was clean and the staff were super friendly and helpful. There was a shop here, so you could top up with drinks and food and the staff at the park desk were also very helpful.

The hotel was air conditioned throughout and the restaurant provided a variety of foods just for breakfast.

Would recommend staying here if you have children.
