Extended Stay America - Orlando - Southpark - Commodity Circle
Ranked #237 of 341 Hotels in Orlando
Reviewed March 16, 2010

I booked this hotel direct from their website for $47 a night from March 12th-15th, so it was a great deal for the money. The location is good regarding nearby shopping & restaurants (Wal-Mart Supercenter, Staples, The Florida Mall, etc.) and is within fairly close proximity to the the Orange County Convention Center, the airport, and International Drive. The hotel itself is located in a nice business park that is relatively safe and quiet. WiFi internet was only $4 for the whole stay, not bad but chains usually do not charge for WiFi.

The flaws are that the rooms and hallways are in need of new carpeting, the bathroom does not provide toiletries other than bar soap, toilet paper and tissues. You have to call the front desk for hangars, which are plastic. They were apparently not aware or willing to purchase the standard hotel hangars that detach at the hook to avoid theft.

In regards to noise levels, I stayed on the first floor and despite hearing no one above me (I assume the room above was occupied since the hotel was booked and they upgraded me to a king suite), the walls are thin and I heard a couple converse until 1AM, not good in my book.

As far as housekeeping in concerned, they will clean the bathroom and restock the linens but do not make up the beds. Even though this is an extended stay hotel, I find this unacceptable.

I would only book this hotel due to price and location, that is it. If you are traveling on a budget for business or work this is an OK place to stay. But despite a decent outdoor pool, I would not book this place for a vacation. I recommend this place only on price, but I am not going to give a "yes" recommendation overall.

This hotel is worth your money. All rooms comes with a full kitchen including stove (with two burners). Rooms are very comfortable with internet available for a reasonable fee. There is a Super Walmart in which you can find from food to sounvenirs. Managers are professional and very attentative to your needs and the needs of your family. The hotel provides breakfast so it is worth not to cook during the mornings. Pay attention to some of the rooms facing a local car dealership, their speakers are directly to the rooms window, so you will hear frank line one or Joe line two early at 7:00 a.m constanly. But overall, it is worth your money and stay.

This hotel was a pleasure to stay at. The common areas are clean and modern looking. The room was very nice with the kitchen and work table. The bed was not too comfortable though. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The internet service was extra but very reasonable price. I needed to print a document and the staff let me email it to them and they printed it out for me. They have a laundry room but only two of the 4 washers were working and I thought the $2 each for wash and dry was high. You are close to eating and shopping areas and easy to get on I-4 and to other areas. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here.

For the past 5 years I had been staying at Marriott Residence Inn in Orlando near Int. Drive...Very enjoyable but the cost was getting a little much for the entire month....

Discovered Extended Stay, checked the rates but before committing I checked one in my area of northern Va. outside DC for an idea of how they looked...after being satisfied I made my reservations...

I was pleased with everything except the room had no sharp knife for cutting anything...and no oven...but being alone I dealt with those issues...I have already made reservations for March 10 and got a rate that is in the $20 per nite range...all told my 33 day stay is in the $780 dollar range..I was shocked when they told me but pleasantly...I have nothing bad to say about the facility...even the linen changing sysstem and cleaning...once a week but if you want it extra the cost is $5..not bad considering the room rate...the facility is convenient for shopping and stocking up with a Super Walmart just across the street, Fla. Mall no more than 10 minutes away...
My car battery went dead one day in Fla. and found a dealer just minutes away for service....There are extended stay places closer to Int. Drive and tourist sights but the traffic inthat area is horrific...
If you have family with you space might be an issue but since most are out and about most of the day the hotel is just a haven to sleep and rejuvenate for the next day and that money saved on hotels can be spent eating and sightseeing better...

I venture to Fla. for spring training baseball games and the warm weather...great place to be if you like baseball.....

This hotel advertises a fully equipped kitchen. This is false because a fully equipped kitchen has an oven. Most of all a fully equipped kitchen has a chef's knife or some kind of knife block with chopping knifes. This kitchen has no mixing bowls, measuring cups, whisks, rubber spatulas, and much more. I can go on and on about what it did not have. Simply put a fully equipped kitchen has to have an oven otherwise it is not fully equipped. Also they said they had dish network. The channel line up is horrible, and they only have 32 channels. This is not dish network as most of us know there are well over 100 channels on dish network. You also should be able to order movies. The only premium channel offered are showtime, and no HBO or cinamax. The continental breakfast is horrible. A standard continental breakfast has cereal in it. This one does not. The muffins are horrible. The only thing good in it is the coffee and the yoplait yogurt. To me it is false advertising about the fully equipped kitchen. I expected a whole lot more about the hotel. It did not please me at all once I actually got into the room. The bed was very uncomfortable. They also said that my room was to include a recliner chair it did not. The name is extended stay deluxe. The comfort of the bed and the continental breakfast are not deluxe at all.

I am a big fan of Extended Stay, and this was a top one. For 55 dollars a night for two people, including breakfast, and with all amenities you could ask for.

Service is really sweet, and it feels like they really care about you. Rooms are huge and has all you can ask for. Pool is nice. Laundry works well and there is also a small fitness room. Location is extremely boring, but very, very convenient if you have a car. If not, I would not stay here! You really need your own car!

But with a car it is perfect. Especially if you want to go to different parks. It takes ten minutes to Universal, ten minutes to SeaWorld, five minutes to Florida Mall. There is a WalMart across the street, where you can fill up your fridge. And there is some decent restaurants across the street as well, such as Logan, which we loved!

Overall, we had a perfect week at this Extended Stay, and would highly recommend it for anyone else who is on a tight budget, wants to go to different parks, and has a car!

Picked this hotel for part of our trip to Orlando, April 3rd to 5th. First room we got was on the 3rd floor. Even though they say they're a non-smoking hotel, the floor reeked of cigarettes. The room was not better. Toilet was dirty as was the bathtub. Went to reception and got another room on the first floor right by the stairs. Lobby mentioned that they are pet friendly. They must be using potent cleaning detergents for rooms that had pets cuz we can smell them even from outside the room we were given.

Second room is decent but still not pleased. Again, toilet and bathtub was dirty. Pillows were not comfy, and the A/C unit is VERY LOUD, kept waking us up in the middle of the night. Carpet was dirty and room layout was very tight.

Rooms do come with fridge, stove, sink, and microwave. Good for families that have kids. You can prepare meals from items you can buy from the 24 hr. Wal-Mart just across the street... granted you can stand the other shortcomings of your room as I stated above.

Breakfast is included in the morning but not much selection. There's bagels, coffee, and juices. Internet access is an additional $4.99.

Overall, good location with the Wal-Mart supercentre close to it as well as other restaurants like Wendy's and McDonald's. Good for travellers that will make good use of the kitchen appliances but not for those on a short stay... and to those that can withstand the outdated and sometimes unclean rooms.
