Never stayed at a LaQuinta before, but needed a place to sleep before flying home the next day after six days at a WDW resort. Picked it because of location, affordable price, and shuttle service to airport. Arrived after 10pm and honestly, we really were not expecting much, so were very pleasantly surprised. Lobby large, airy, and updated. Hotel personnel very friendly and helpful. Room was large and clean (only complaint is that the grout in the bathroom was dirty and needed to be bleached), bed was very comfortable with soft/smooth sheets, and the room was quiet (never heard the people in the rooms on either side of us). Breakfast was more of a continental breakfast (juice, coffee, pastries, bagels, fruit) so that was a bit disappointing as many of the hotels in this category offer a bit more substantial fare for breakfast. However, the other positive aspects of staying in this hotel far outweighed the continental breakfast. Will definitely consider staying at this place again when we make a trip to WDW as it was easy access to the airport and we had a good experience.
Returning from Europe, where we'd been shelling out over $200 a night for tiny motel rooms with few - if any - amenities, we were pleased to find this modestly priced gem for an overnight stay. Within a couple of miles of the Orlando International Airport, it is surprisingly quiet and affordable (at about 1/3 the price we'd paid in Europe). Our room on the ground floor was quite large, clean, comfortable.and attractive. For longer stays, the well kept grounds offer the opportunity to enjoy the Florida sunshine while relaxing around the pool.
This worked perfect for us. Only spent the night after a late flight. It was easy to find hotel from airport in the dark, and a short drive. Check in was easy and pleasant. Room was HUGE. We walked to TGIFridays less than a block away and had a night cap (ok, 3 night caps) and appetizer. King size bed was super comfy, nice shower, and pretty nice breakfast. We took a peak at the pool area, very nice, however the hot tub was roped off as if under construction. Didn't matter to us so much on this night because we didn't have time to use it anyway. Checked out after breakfast in the morning and drove to St Augustine. It was perfect.
We get our home sprayed for "pests" 3 times a year, so we made a last minute decision Saturday, 9/14 to get away from the fumes as I have asthma and the pest control company came very late as they were running behind. Well...we went to this hotel near OIA and what a mistake!! We had stayed here over a year ago and didn't like it then but figured it was a fluke with their "hot & humid" rooms and being LQ reward members we thought we'd try it again. It wasn't a fluke at all. This is the way their rooms are at this LQ. Didn't sleep for being so uncomfortable and listening to their outside doors slam/bang continually so we checked out at the crack of dawn! We were actually only in the room for less than 5 hours Total! Forget the breakfast they had...we just wanted to go home and open the house up to air the fumes out and "go to bed"! Needless to say, we will never stay here again but it was "our bad" for thinking that the first time could have been just a fluke! :(
