“Much better visit third time around.”

This place just gets better and better.
They gave us a unit in the Alhambra building facing the lake.
Corner unit 3 bedroom on the top floor.
Can't ask for more.
It was a dedicated 3 bedroom. Last time I had a lock off.
I think I like the dedicated 3 bedroom better.

Seems like it's been updated since I last visited.
They even came to give us brand new pillows one day out of the blue.
It was time because the old pillows were terrible.
Got this unit on an Interval International exchange.

Our unit was a 3 bedroom with the master having a king and soaker jacuzzi tub.
The other two rooms had two full size beds and a regular bathroom.
We had a washer and dryer in the unit.
The kitchen was nicely updated.
The staff very friendly.
The pools very nice.
The grounds amazingly beautiful.
The magnolia tree lined street incredible.
Not much not to like about Grande Vista.
It wasn't as crowded at this time of the year so that helps with the enjoyment.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view, it totally enhances the enjoyment of the resort.

We started going here in the summer of 2011, and I've reviewed a time or two before, but the reason I wanted to chime in this time was to acknowledge Ethan Hauser and his staff at Grande Vista. Hey Marriott management, if you're reading this -- you have some good people in your organization!!

I guess a mistake was made and we were put in an area where some pretty serious work needed to be done on the room below us, and it was so loud the kids couldn't nap at all for a day or two. It wasn't the entire duration, but as anybody with kids knows -- if the kids can't nap, life gets tougher.

Bottom line? We've been to Grande Vista countless times before, and will continue -- regardless of this isolated problem. But I reported this problem to Grande Vista and within hours I had at least three representatives working with me to try to remedy the situation and make it better. Plus they offered us a chance to come back on their dime (during an offpeak time) to make up for it.

I've never seen this kind of customer service, and I was just truly impressed. Ethan has worked with me personally for more than a week and a half on this, sent a letter to the house with contact info to keep in touch on planning the next experience, etc.

Outstanding people all the way around, but again -- I'm not surprised. This is a first-class operation.

Not only is this a great place to stay for a holiday, the people are second to none who staff it.

Exchanged our Myrtle Beach Marriott timeshare for a 3 bedroom at Grande Vista. We brought our daughter, husband and 2 small children for a one week Disney vacation. In the pre-arrival special request e-mail, I had asked that the villa be on a high floor to assure us that the kids would sleep peacefully (2 and 5 yrs. old). At check-in, we were given a villa on the top floor but a good walk away from the pools. Our unit was an end unit and the layout was great for our family. Although we did like the resort, our trips to and from the Disney properties were a major undertaking. Next time, I plan to investigate properties closer to the parks.

We stayed at the Grande Vista for about a week in a 1 bedroom suite with our 2 daughters (aged 3 1/2 and 2) while visiting family and Disney. The room far surpassed what we expected! The kitchen was fully functional and beautiful. The dining area was a pleasant surprise. The screened in balcony was lovely. Our girls loved taking baths in the huge jacuzzi tub (so many bubbles!). We visited 2 of the 5 pool areas and had a blast.

There's definitely a bit of walking if you really want to do all the resort has to offer, but its a pleasant walk as the grounds are nicely tended. We loved the bits of wildlife we saw along the way (mostly gekkos, but also a fairly large black snake literally in a bush).

We had breakfast twice at the restaurant on the golf course and it was very tasty if not a bit pricey. The staff was universally excellent. Our girls are not the neatest eaters and for some reason were particularly dropsy on this trip but we never got even a sideways look from the waitstaff at the restaurant.

My only complaints are that the buildings themselves are set up more like motel than a hotel with entrances to rooms being outside. This is not uncommon in Florida, but we found the outside areas of the building to be severely in need of TLC. Lots of chipping/peeling paint. Seemed dirty. Also the bugs. OH, the bugs. I know its the tropics and bugs are to be expected, but the lights in the "halls" at night attract SO many bugs and they just fly into your room if you don't get through the door fast enough.

Only other complaint is that the drinks at the main pool by the lobby building are too expensive and not strong enough. The pool across the lake was far better in that department. Same prices, but more bang for your buck.

Overall, I would definitely come back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to a friend.

Room Tip: Go with a suite if you can afford the nominal extra charge. The increase in space is well worth it...

This was a 4 night stay in Orlando to visit Disney, Busch Gardens and do some shopping. Unfortunately I never had the time to appreciate the facilities being offered at this resort but from what I have seen, it wouldn't disappoint.

Although this hotel is located on International Drive, it is situated all the way down the tranquil south end of I-drive away from the hustle and bustle. The resort is massive and ideally you will want to have a car however there is a bus stop at the entrance of the resort although if you are staying in one of the furthest building in the resort, you will be looking at a good 10-15 minutes walk to the bus stop.

The resort offers free parking, complimentary wifi throughout, pools, golf, tennis, fitness centre, BBQ/picnic area and the list is endless. There are also a number of restaurants on site.

I stayed in a 1 bedroom villa and the room offers a full size kitchen with dish washer, washer and dryer. There is a dining table, a large screen TV and sofa in the living area. The bathroom consists of his and hers wash basin and a walk-in shower. Complimentary toiletries are provided. The bedroom has a Jacuzzi, a big bed, ceiling fan and TV. There is a vertical in-room safe which will fit a netbook and iPad but anything bigger or thicker will not fit. A big balcony is also present in the room.

This is an excellent choice for a resort stay in Orlando with excellent friendly staff. You are only 5 mins away from the Premium Outlets at Vineland Avenue and 10 mins away from Downtown Disney.

Our family owns at the Marriot Surf Club in Aruba.... through Interval we had an extra certificate that was expiring and for a relatively small fee, could book this hotel among other Orlando properties for our Disney vacation. Never stayed off the Disney property before, but figured Grande Vista had decent reviews and well, its a Marriot Vacation Club resort. The setting of the hotel is pretty (there's a lovely looking golf course and a lake where you can rent recreational paddle boats, etc.) and its located about 3 minutes from Sea World and about 10-15 minutes from various Disney attractions. We arrived around 1:30 (check-in is at 4pm) and after a long day of travel, asked if our room was ready. They were kind enough to let us check-in at that time. We arrived in our room located in the main building where the reception is located. View of the parking lot and a small view of a section of the main pool from the master bedroom's balcony. The furnishings are OK- but the room shows major wear and tear. Soils all over the carpets and the jacuzzi tub area is tiled with mismatched tiles that clearly were never replaced when they did the last update (which must have been a while ago). In the room, the beds are comfortable. Main pool is OK in appearance - loud music was blasting so we actually had to head to the kiddie pool for some peace and quite. Imagine that! In addition, there is no waitress/waiter service to provide refreshments poolside. Rather, you have to go place orders at the pool bar. Also, no modifications are permitted on your order (I asked for fish on a caesar salad rather than chicken- they have a fish sandwich on the menu- and was told no changes are allowed). Food at the pool was not good at all. We also learned that there is NO housekeeping service provided during a one week stay! Ample towels were made available upon request by housekeeping. Another issue I feel compelled to report is that the water in the bathrooms (shower/bathtub/sinks) has a very strong and sewage-like smell that I have never encountered anywhere before. On-site restaurants - We had one breakfast at the The Grande Grill on site (at the golf course). The food was OK with one major exception. The berries served on the side of my omelette had not been washed. In addition, the restaurant itself needs some refurbishing. Breakfasts with the characters at Disney have been much more enjoyable. Staff was friendly and accommodating, very apologetic when one of our ordered items came out wrong. Overall, I would not come rushing back by any means. The hotel was fine as a home base when we were going to be at Disney all day long but now that its storming here we are less than thrilled. If you are considering exchanging your Marriot Vacation Club week for a week at this hotel, beware - its not worth it!

This was our second visit to this resort and it was even better than the first. The location and facilities are excellent. We were a large party of 4 adults and 5 children ranging from 6-17 and it has something for everyone. We own Marriott Vacation Club in Europe and I do not think the apartments are quite as nice, however, they are still large, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. What makes this resort stand out from any other we have stayed at is the staff. Everyone was so friendly and couldn't do enough to help. My daughter was very upset when she dropped and smashed her iPad. Within minutes one of the waiters, Ryin, had printed off details of where it could be repaired locally and saved the day. While all staff were great, this guy was so attentive and very patient with 5 fickle kids. Check out his singing - awesome!

Room Tip: If you want two bedrooms, ask for the two room units rather the 1 bed plus lock off room as they see...
