We stayed at the Rodeway Inn on International Drive in October 2005. The hotel is in definite need of some upgrading and redecoration - the room was reasonably clean, though. Bathroom was functional with a decent shower and there were plenty of towels. Was a bit difficult to sleep due to the noisy air conditioning system but the room would quickly get very warm if we switched it off. Had some very loud people (shouting and slamming doors) in the room next to us during the middle weekend of our holiday and had to get the hotel's security people to deal with them at 3 am. On a more positive note, the hotel is in a good location just over the road from the Wet n Wild water park (very good) and you can walk to the Universal theme parks (which are absolutely brilliant!) in around twenty minutes. The hotel runs shuttle buses to Universal but we found the times weren't always convenient - you can also get a taxi for around $8. There is an I-ride trolley stop right outside the hotel, too - this is a fairly good way to travel up and down International Drive although sometimes had a bit of a wait for one to come along. The trolley was a good way of travelling to the Seaworld theme park - it takes you right to the entrance. Enjoyed some nice meals during our holiday, too - our favourites were Bahama Breeze on I-Drive, Dan Marino's at Pointe Orlando and the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal City Walk. As regards the Rodeway Inn, it was no more than adequate - you could argue that you get what you pay for, but I'm still left with the feeling that I wouldn't be in any hurry to rush back.

Stayed from 23sept -8 oct and had a great time, Staff helpful and rooms pretty clean for what you pay and after all you only need to sleep there. Good location for parks and lynx bus and i trolley very good and always on time. would stay again mainly because of location, you cannot get a better place to be on i drive.

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel from the 17th Sept until 1st october this year.

We did not encounter any of the problems that others have said. the room was clean, bathroom was fine, amenities in hotel were good.

Room was was cleaned everyday, staff were helpful enough.

This is a great hotel from what you pay and its clean, its very convenient for everything you wanna do, eat and drink etc. its within walking distance of 3 theme parks Universal studios/Island of adventure and wet n wild which is across the road. The I ride stops right outside hotel, Use this to get up and down international drive.

Overall, excellent for what we paid, £180 each for two weeks, would stay there again.

I stayed here for 4 nights, 9-25 thru 9-28. I love my showers in the morning to be warm but this had a horrible shower. The water was barely warm enough everyday of our stay and the water pressure sucked, I don't even think my shampoo rinsed out of my hair hardly. The elevators sucked, there were three of them but only 2 were in operation, an average size one and a very little one were only 4 people can fit. Elevators were so slow, too, I mostly took the stairs and I was on the 4th level. The only reason people stay here is because of location of attractions and restaraunts nearby. It is a long walk to Universal like 1 1/2 miles away. My wife had blisters on her feet by the 2nd day of walking. I would look into Linx buses on the I-drive area. There were so many more of those than the I-ride trolleys. But please stay somewhere else. The Motel 6 looks pretty new and perhaps closer too.

We managed to stay in this monstrosety for 1 night. We were booked in for 14 nights.
It didnt bode well when we got the elevator to our room, shared with a BMX bike.Got out on the 5th floor to about 4 people using the corridor as a BMX track. Found the room and it was filthy (Pubic hair in the beds and around the toilet) Rang reception to ask for another room but they didnt have one so they sent up housekeeping to clean.Had a terrible nights sleep with the noisy kids and also having no curtains over the window.

Luckly we were on a package holiday and got our rep to move us the morning after to the Best Western Movieland (excellent).
By the way the rep acted this happens quite alot.

Overall very niosy, dirty and unfriendly staff

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks from July - August 2005. On arrival we were greeted by the unhelpful reception staff who informed us that we weren' actually booked into this hotel and that our tour operator must have made an error. They offered no further assistance told us that they were fully booked so we checked into the much nicer Holiday Inn, nextdoor, that costs $10 extra per night - & it is well worth the difference.

The following day when the error had been sorted out we tried once again to check into the Rodeway Inn, after some problems we checked in later that afternoon. Once allocated a room, we took the elevator to our room and noticed that corridors smelt of a strange stale type smell.

Our smallish room had all the basic amenities, safety deposit box (small), fridge, microwave and TV, although they were quite dated and the TV had the previous guests pizza stuck to the bottom of it. The bathroom was cleaninsh, but most evenings we were unable to get any hot water to shower with - this was mentioned to the reception staff, who did nothing about it. Like some other guests our sheets were not changed that often - i know this because mine were stained with ink, that did not disappear until the 7th night.

As far as the rest of the hotel goes, it wasn't that pleasant to look at. It's decorated in shabby 70's decor - much of the paint is flaking off the walls and it is in need of a dramatic refurbishment. The pool is very small, & as a result is very busy and overcrowded - the pool area also needs a bit of a revamp.

We didn't bother eating in the hotels dining facilities. The shop was ok, typically overpriced and again in need of modernising.
Yes the hotel do offer free shulltles to universal and sea world, but you need to book quite far in advance, the only do one trip and depart at strangely annoying times. If you have a car use it!!

I wouldn't reccomend this hotel to anyone who has a young family, or anybody who enjoys spending time relaxining in the hotel - due to the smell, the small pool and the smallish rooms.

Good points? - I ride stop outside, near to Universal complex $10 maximum in a taxi of an evening - basically all to do with location not the actual hotel facilities. (Although hotel is on the 'tacky' end of inernational drive. Seaworld end much nicer.)

As a young couple who used this hotel only as a base it was ok, but given the choice again i would not return unless the hotel was substantially cheaper than others on the same road - which we found wasn't the case.

My family and I stayed at this hotel on the 8th floor for 4 nights. Checking in was a breeze but when we got to our room the carpet was dirty and we met food in the refrigerator. Honestly, the bathroom needs to be upgraded. The bathroom had a terrible smell and it was never cleaned properly. Mildew could be seen on the wall and it was there upward to the time that we left. One day the maid left a wash cloth that looked like an old rag cloth. Definitely, no one took a bath with that. Overall, the maid was just plain nasty and I am being totally honest!
I must say that the hotel is in a convenient location where you can shop and there is also a lot of entertainment. The pool area was always clean and it was nice that the room had a microwave and refrigerator. I have to admit that. Our stay was okay but the maid was very untidy and to top it of she left an envelope for us to place her tip in. Now that was funny!
