The polynesian resort must be 40 years old, and it is shouting its need for remodelation, the decor of the rooms is old. Needs more restaurants and more variety on its food. The restaurant hostess are very old persons and very slow (probably stated with the resort).
The swimminig pool and pool bar are very nice, the beach is clean and well kept, and the service in this areas is very helpful and courteous.
I felt the hotel was overpriced for what it offers.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view to the lagoon. It will allow you to the see the nightly fireworks at Magic K...

Polynesian is by far my favorite hotel on Disney property, and probably one of my favorite in the world!! The grounds are beautiful and well themed. The rooms are enormous compared to a standard hotel room and compared to other Deluxe Disney hotels.

Polynesian is perfectly situated on the Monorail route to the Magic Kingdom, but also within walking distance to the Transportation and Ticket Center for easy access to the Monorail for Epcot.

Volcano pool is great for kids with music and activities in the afternoon. The round pool is a quiet retreat for adults or families looking to chill.

As long as I can afford it, I'll never stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Tahiti building is away from hustle bustle and close to TTC.

Upon arriving at the hotel we were warmly greeted and then taken by golf cart to our room at the Longhouse (Hawaii). The Hawaii Longhouse location cannot be beat if you want a view of the Magic Kingdom (electric parade at night right in front of our room - plus the fireworks from the MK every night), and want to be close to the pool. This location cannot be beat! I enjoyed the concierge service as it provided a means for snacking when we weren't quite ready for a meal (this is not a meal subsitute - except maybe for breakfast - only hot item at breakfast was oatmeal). We walked the 5 minute walk to the TTC to take the monorail to EPCOT, but took the ferry boat right from the resort to the Magic Kingdom and it was great with departures every 10 minutes and not crowded at all. The only negative aspect of the hotel - as has been mentioned previously - is the bedspreads. They do seem like they are from the 1970's - very old and need to be retired. The staff were so very helpful with coordinating checking out and scheduling a transit from the resort to the Alamo car rental on WDW property. Kona Cafe had wonderful food and service also. Highly recommend this resort for its location and superior staff. We hope upon our return the rooms (at least bedspread) have been updated! :)

Room Tip: Hawaii Longhouse can't be beat for access to pool/beach and view of the Magic Kingdom

We loved our stay at the Polynesian, made a million times better by the friendly and courteous staff.

Upon finding out we were on our honeymoon, they upgraded our room which was a nice surprise. I was a bit bummed to find out they don't have rooms with King beds, and they only have 2 double beds in every room.

The cafe in the main house has a nice selection, and the gift shop also has a lot of nice items. The grounds are beautiful, and actually quite large.

It was convenient to take a bus, monorail, or ferry to every park from there. The rooms were very clean. The only thing I didn't like was how I could EVERYTHING happening in all the other rooms. I wanted to ask the people upstairs if they would let me play with their pet elephant.

on our first morning, there was a lot of noise in the hall and I discovered they were changing the locking system on every single door in the hotel. This was quite loud, but it didn't start until 9am - and it was the day we were trying to sleep in.

Room Tip: All rooms have a balcony, but you can see The Magic Kingdom with the lake view rooms - which you wil...

We here for 7 days and it's all just ok. I am disappointed with concierge level, as the room and food is not as good as Disneyland Hotel. However, the cost is less. So I guess that is Ok. The room seems dated but the beds are comfortable and it is clean. So I guess that is Ok. We booked a garden room so we just look on the garden so that is Ok. Also, right next store is the transportation center with quick and easy access to Animal kingdom or Downtown Disney. So that is OK too. No ones kidding when they say you need dinner reservations. We tried at 5 pm to get into one of Z restaurants and couldn't get in until after 8 pm. That's in low season.....

My first visit to the Polynesian Resort at Disney World, FL blew me away. The rooms were sparkling fresh, the lobby and surrounding grounds phenomenal. That was about 20 yrs ago. I returned for a 4 night stay last week and was again blown away by the lush landscaping and Hawaii feel. That feeling was quickly dashed when I entered our room.....oh so dated and just plain tired. Saying it was seedy is a bit much, but somewhere between seedy and tired would be my best description. The bedspreads (who uses crusty old bedspreads anymore??) looked like they were right out of the 70's. but I don't think that was what they were going for. My guess is that they have such a high turnover that they (the hotel owners/corporation) never takes the time to refresh and update. That is too bad....the location of the hotel to the monorail (right outside the front door) made it a major convenience to get to all the parks, but for that price, I was expecting a little more luxury. Oh......no King beds ANYWHERE unless you were renting the big suites, and there was no makeup mirror as the "amenities" list described. Not that big of a deal except it's nice to leave those extra things at home considering the cost of baggage over the limit with the airlines these days. I'm not rushing to go back by any means.
