The hotel is very nice and clean. From walking in with the "clean fresh scent" ( Disney must make each hotel a certain scent and pump it in with the AC) to the very nice room, monorail and large pools it was a great week. The rooms were large - easy for a family of 5 to get around and not trip over each other. Draw back no microwave - we brought our own, and the mini fridge took forever to cool down. The cabinet it was in seemed a poor design as it trapped the heat. The bathroom sinks are just plain odd and very poor design. Food was good, not gourmet or stellar but it worked. Prices were a bit high but no more than eating in downtown DC. We stayed park side and could watch the firework nightly - AWESOME! I was more impressed and awed than I think the kids were. We got some great photos of the castle at night. The easy of staying there was great - just go downstairs and catch the monorail to Epcot, or even walk to the Magic kingdom, made it easy to come back for lunch, dip in the pool and then go back for more park time. The magical extra hours were a huge plus too. We went to the Polynesian for a visit and thought it was not as nice, clean or refreshing as the Contemporay ( plus I didnt like the flowery scent they used). There is a laundry located on the 2nd floor of the garden wing - which we ened up using mid way in our week. Doesnt take change you have to room charge or credit card it, which was a bummer. But at $2/load we were ok with it. Put the laundry in went to the pool then went back and flipped it. Worked out well. I would recommend the hotel and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Stay on the park side Magic Kingdom view and away from the chef mickey end

The Contemporary is a great place to stay when you're at Walt Disney World. You have easy access to the monorail (it runs right through the hotel concourse). The monorail is probably the best way to get to both EPCOT and the Magic Kingdom. Shuttle busses are also offered as part of your stay. We used them to get to Downtown Disney, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. They run pretty regularly and for the most part were not crowded.

Our room offered a bathroom with 2 sinks, which came in very handy getting ready in the morning. We stayed in the South Garden which offered views of Bay Lake. The resort offers a large pool that is only 3 feet deep with a slide. The smaller pool was 5 feet deep and better suited to swimming.

The Contempo Cafe offered decent meals and I suggest purchasing a resort cup for everyone. It allows free refills while at any of the Disney resorts, which my 10 year old twins took full advantage. The gift shop offers many of the same items you'd find in the parks so you don't have to schlep your souvenirs all over.

Our only downside was with the cleaning service. There were 4 of us staying, however we seemed to only receive 3 washcloths and had to ask more than once to receive enough towels and soap. We ended up going to the pool area for towels since we needed to shower in the 90+ degree heat.

Overall it was still a great place to stay.

Room Tip: The South Garden rooms are a bit cheaper than the Tower. The monorail service starts just before 7A...

Great location and amenities. We got the club level room and this was our first 3 day stay. At $650+ per night I did expect superior service however there were issues that were certainly not expected:
1. Found no remote in the room
2. Staff at the club level very impersonable
3. Housekeeping does not pick up the phone
4. Housekeeping staff did not visit the room for servicing until 4-5 pm (if you are visiting theme park and returning early, you may want to find clean towels upon return)
5. Wireless Internet - no access in the room on any if our devices likely because the room was on the far end of a hotel.
6. Laundry room located in a different building, prepare to walk quite a bit and make sure you have key card or credit card (no coins despite what front desk folks tell you)

We are likely to return only because of courtesy extended to us by a club level manager upon checkout who assured us that issues above will be corrected. Otherwise would definitely stay at a high end hotel close by and drive to the theme park. I am not quite sure the benefits associated with proximity to the park not necessarily the service outweigh the costs

I recently stayed five nights and was disappointed. The property is dated, it feels anything but 'contemporary,' the pool was unavailable early in the morning when I like to swim, and when I inquired the pool person was rude. The location works for those wanting to stay close to the Magic Kingdom at a price. I would suggest staying at a different property though.

Stayed in the Garden Wing of the Contemporary Resort, Lake View... pleasant view. Aestetically not the prettiest of Disney Resorts and rooms similar to many other good hotels around the world but everything else was fantastic. Great location, good restaurant options, very nice walk to Magic Kingdom, transport options spot on and the best thing of all, amazing staff.... from concern shown at front desk because of United leaving my luggage behind in Housten (Disney much more pro-active than United!!) to Mousekeeping who we eagerley participated in their daily room antics of our travelling soft toys and their growing gang of towel friends who appeared during the length of our stay. Many magic moments enjoyed here.

P.S. On returning home we received an envelope, no note, just a photo to pass onto "bear" with himself throwing a little party in the room with his towel friends whilst we were enjoying the Parks!! Brilliant touch.

Room Tip: Try and avoid the carpark view

This resort was everything I was hoping for. I have been to Disney many times and had always wanted to stay in the hotel with the monorail going through it! I finally did. We stayed in a room that had the Magic Kingdom View - Atrium Club Level. We could watch the fireworks right from our balcony. It was well worth the extra money. Everyone was so nice and friendly. They were extremely helpful. We arrived early, but our room was ready. So we were able to check in early and enjoy the parks. There were snacks and drinks available all during the day and night at the club level. They even let us use it after our check-out time. They got our packages that were delivered after we checked out and held them for us. They also held our luggage until we were ready to leave. It was a great stay and we will certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: I recommend staying on the club level with the Magic Kingdom view.

We stayed here one night (before taking the Disney Cruise) and only had time to visit one Theme Park. We chose the Magic Kingdom and this hotel was perfect as it has the direct transportation to the park. The hotel was also great with several restaurants to choose from and helpful employees. The rooms were a bit small, but were clean!

Room Tip: Ask to have a room to see the MK fireworks show. Also, plan to eat at Chef Mickey's.
