I traveled with my husband and two boys (14 and 11) in August. This resort did not disappoint us. The grounds were well maintained, the pools were great and the food was much better than expected. Reasonably priced too (by Disney's standards).
We stayed at Aruba 55 building and it was just across the lake from the Old Port Royale (Food court, large themed pool and gift shops). Our building was super quiet and we had no problem but it is a good walk over the bridge to the fancy pool, food and shops. They are in the process of remodeling Aruba right now so I'd choose a room there in a few months.
If I came back (which I hope to), we would definitely request Jamaica building 45 which is right near the bridge to cross over to the main pool and food. The Jamaica building has just been remodeled so that would be great.
MAIN THING to remember when staying here.....Choose a room that is not at the outskirts of the property or you will be hiking to get food and/or supplies.More
