Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace Disney Springs
Ranked #211 of 340 Hotels in Orlando
Reviewed March 12, 2007

Stayed here for a business conference for three nights. For a hotel that appears to pride itself on providing top notch service and amenities, it was somewhat disappointing.

The grounds are beautiful, the hotel is clean and quiet, and the lobby areas are quite comfortable and spacious. The fitness center has a good variety of equipment. The convention center facilities were nice, though rooms were awfully cold. Being close to Downtown Disney is a plus since there are lots of options for food and shopping.

What was disappointing was the attitude of some of the hotel staff. On several occasions I asked questions about certain things in the room and front desk staff seemed to be unaware and were not interested in finding an answer for me. It certainly seemed that housekeeping staff did not talk to front desk staff, and front desk staff did not talk to billing staff. Mostly just little things, but those little things can certainly make a stay more pleasant. Especially when one considers the price paid for these accommodations, a bit more orientation toward serving guests would have been nice.

I might consider returning if I got a really great rate, or for another conference. It certainly would not be my first choice for a friendly place to stay in Orlando.

Went to this hotel for a conference with my granddaughter...not a real friendly hotel for small children. Curbside people very unfriendly - almost rude! Pool people were very nice--when they were there!
Lots of teenagers at this hotel for competitions. Pool and hot tub were very nice...along with the arcade. But meals and food were terribly outrageously priced.
Bottom bed sheets came off mattress every night as they were too small for the bed - this is most uncomfortable...they remodeled and now need to invest in fitted sheets!
Room was very quiet and very nice view of the lake. Walking distance to Downtown Disney which was very nice. Bus service to DisneyWorld was adequate.

We stayed at the Palace the first week in March. We had a Island suite with a water view. We loved the room. It was huge. It was a great place to stay for 6 nights. The beds were very comfortable. I think this was the first hotel I have stayed in where the beds were comfortable. The view was wonderul (especially at night when everything was lit up). The only complaint with the room would be that we needed more trash barrels or larger once at least. The hotel was very quiet. We loved walking over the bridges to get to the main lobby. The grounds were beautiful. The location of the hotel to Downtown Disney was terrific. We would walk across the street and we would be right there. We rented a car and only used the bus once or twice to travel to one of the parks. The bus required a lot of waiting. The people who worked for the hotel from the front desk ,concierge, housekeeping, bellhops were wonderful. They were all very friendly and helpful. We love this hotel and we will definitely be coming back!!!!!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!!!

We stayed for one night at the Buena Vista Palace because of an emergency, purely based on the fact that they had a room available. We got a last minute room at a last minute price. Considering the circumstances we were thankful to get anything and were willing to accept anything reasonably nice. After checking in, we were walked from the lobby, outside to a separate building by the pool complex. I have to say that this raised concerns about having checked in to an exaggerated motel. We were told we had a Waterview room. It was gorgeous, one of the nicest rooms we had ever stayed in. The décor was modern, beds comfortable, sheets soft. The room was large with a balcony overlooking the pool area. There was a good sized refrigerator, a HD flat panel TV (albeit without HD programming), a large sink and bathroom combination and a climate control thermostat which didn’t force you to guess whether you needed heat or air conditioning (a surprisingly difficult choice in the changeable Florida winter). The staff was courteous and helpful, the grounds attractive.

There were couple of flaws, the major one being the lack of affordable dining for dinner. The Outback restaurant (not associated with the chain) was jaw droppingly expensive. The Watercress Café, which was somewhat more reasonable, probably would have done well to stay open for dinner, at least on busy arrival nights. I saw many newly arrived families look into the closed restaurant, then turn away hungrily. A minor flaw was parking. The lots were a little confusing, at least at night.

A one night stay is not enough to make a complete assessment. We didn’t get to take advantage of the hotel’s proximity to Downtown Disney; didn’t have the opportunity to take advantage of the pool complex; didn’t get an idea of what transportation was like to and from the parks. However, based upon what we did see, would we come back?

Absolutely.

I was looking for a hotel in the Disney area the night before my trip. The telephone agent was very pleasant and patient as I made my reservation. I had several e-mails confirming my reservations. The blurp in the AAA tourbook does not do the Palace justice. It's gorgeous! The staff was very pleasant. My 13 year old niece was very impressed with the valet parking. We had a great evening in a newly remodeled room. Two thumbs way up!

This hotel is gorgeous. I am schocked to read a bad revue. Especially any that have to do with decor. The lobby is gorgeous. The room is gorgeous (and we stayed in the least expensive). The food is wonderful. We ordered room service and had the best server. The food seemed pricey, but for as much food that came on each plate the price was fantastic. We had a wonderful dinner. The shower, the decor, and the oh so comfortable bed and bathrobs made for the most romantic and comfortable evening.

My husband and I decided to stay here this past weekend, after reading the reviews on trip advisor. Some reviews were mixed so we had some reservation, since we were going to the House of Blues at Downtown Disney, this hotel is across the street, we chose Buena Vista Palace. One reviewer wrote... it looks just like it does on the internet, and they were right. This is newly renovated, very clean, great beds, we were in the tower 23rd floor overlooking Downtown Disney, great view. When traveling by taxi cab do request a checkerd cab or metered cab about half the price than the ones the hotel usually calls. The staff was great anad never waited on anything, never waited on check in, we had a wonderful time. Living in the Fort Lauderdale area we will always stay here when heading to Orlando for a quick weekend getaway.
