Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace Disney Springs
Ranked #203 of 342 Hotels in Orlando
Reviewed December 5, 2008

After reading scores of reviews on TA and looking for a real value for money hotel for our 40th wedding anniversary visit my wife and I chose the Buena Vista Palace, a hotel we had last used about 15 years ago. What a change - what a transformation - and what a great choice for us! When we drove up, the bell boys were waiting to park our car, but we informed them that we would be parking the car ourselves (and saving a few bucks!). That didn't make the slightest difference. They greeted us warmly every time we returned to the hotel, opening the door for us. We encountered the same friendliness when we checked in - and this was typical of staff throughout the hotel during our stay. We were treated as VIP guests and, in truth, it made us feel really at home. The room was modern and spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. I happened to mention to the receptionist when we checked in that we were on our 40th wedding anniversary and in our room on the next day was a bottle of bubbly on ice and a plate of strawberries. The breakfast in the Watercress Cafe was varied and plentiful and our only regret was that we only had one meal in The Outback Restaurant, which was on the last day of our four days at the BVP. The meal could not be faulted, with my steak vastly superior to the one I had been served a couple of days earlier in Shula's Steakhouse in the Dolphin Hotel, which mysteriously is rated the top restaurant by TA in Orlando. The grounds at the BVP were excellent maintained and the same staff friendliness was evident around the heated swimming pool. We benefited from a special rate of 99 dollars a night for bed and breakfast which, frankly, was a 'steal'. It was outstanding value for money and I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. It is also in a great position just a five minute walk to Downtown Disney. My wife and I will certainly return on our next visit to Orlando.

Was not sure about this hotel after reading reviews. However, since those reviews, this hotel has been completely renovated. Very, very nice. Free apples! Restaurants and bar overpriced but still good! Pool and services around the pool were fantastic! Lots of things for the kids to do: basketball, volleyball, playground, swim, game room, etc. Conveniently located just in short walking distance to Disney's Downtown. Rates are excellent for amenities. Bar has a couple of Wii gaming systems including Guitar Hero for the kids or adults! What a plus.

The hotel is a very clean, quiet and calming retreat after a day at Disneyworld. The service is extremely courteous and efficient without being intrusive. The amenities, such as an on-site Disney store (whose employees provided valuable information) and an on-time bus service to/from the theme parks were very welcome. The only down side to this resort is the cost of food at the restaurants and snack bar, but since my wife thought to bring our breakfast items (hotel refrigerator provided) and snacks we took into the parks, we weren't put out too much by this. We will definately stay here again when visiting the "Magic Kingdom" and we will recommend it to our friends.

Greatly enjoyed our stay here: really surprised to have such an excellent fresh breakfast (asparagus, fingerling potatoes, multigrain toast, bonne maman marmalade) and fresh pot of decaf for $12! Room very clean and beds extremely comfortable. Staff especially helpful. Only drawback was deodorant smell in lobby and hotel. Pools very clean as were great hot tubs.

This is a lovely hotel and perfect for the many conventions that are held there. You probably do not want to stay here with children, however. The common areas are huge but the room that we were in was tiny. It's perfect for one person or a couple but not for children.

We spent 2 nights there and while the BV Palace is a newly remodeled luxury hotel (at least in comparison to Orlando's low-budget) with beautiful rooms and a great pool/spa area, included in the resort fee, a few minor points to make it truly 'excellent': first, as past reviewers have noticed, the air in the common area in the hotel is infused with a strange room-freshener-odor. Secondly, while the spa/pool/sauna area looks excellent, the operating hours (9- 7.30pm are inconvenient for use after a day at the parks). Lastly, we had a really bad night in these comfy beds due to the fact that some college kids next to us were partying loudly - even after security came! If one pays extra $ to stay in a classy, adult-oriented hotel you don't want to be kept up till 3am by some springbreakers! Overall a great hotel, though, if you can get a good deal on it.

My first visit , but certainly not my last. First check in, was as smooth as silk with a staff that was both able and very friendly as well as accommendating. no way can I say anything but that it was a positive experience, that will always hold a special place in my memory.

From the Arcade room to the spa and work out room everything was top notch! Did I say, Top notch? yes the food was simply wonderful at The Outback steak house, a cut above what you might expect from a chain restaurant.

Do yourself a great favor and give it a try, you'll be glad you did!
