I stayed at this hotel June 2013 with my partner and 19 yr old daughter. There are some positives and some negatives but I'll just go for it.
The hotel lobby and reception areas including the first floor area are very welcoming and updated. On the first floor you access the Disney store, cafe and mini mart. The mini mart is pretty expensive so I would avoid and use the vending machines on each floor.
You also access the pool area on the first floor which is very open and well laid out. There are 2 pools and a jacuzzi which are lovely to unwind in after a day at the parks.
The room itself was really a story of two halves. The actual room was spacious and well laid out with 2 very large and comfy beds. There is a very small balcony but it's adequate for two people.
The bathroom was a completely different story and the reason why I don't believe this hotel is five star. The bathroom was dingy and in disrepair. It was dirty with built up grime in the corners and a tiny bath. It's almost like the rooms have been updated but they didn't budget for the bathrooms. There were even loose tiles on the floor. Our room had an adjoining door to next door which meant that you could hear the people next door taking a pee! Not what you would expect from a five star. The duvets and pillows were extremely comfortable although halfway through our holiday they must have run out of duvet covers and just sandwiched the duvet between two sheets. I asked for this to be changed but it continued. It made me feel uncomfortable that the duvet was exposed and not covered.
There are a couple of places to eat at the hotel but we felt these were pretty expensive so ate out most of the time.
In summary this hotel is in a fantastic location for Downtown Disney (don't wait for the bus it's literally a five min walk) and the theme parks. The communal areas are lovely and the rooms are spacious. I would not consider the bathrooms to be five star (more like two/three) and maybe some sound proofing would help. I don't think we will be going back, partly because of the reasons above and partly because there are other hotels with a similar great location.

Room Tip: There are various rooms with different views. Our room overlooked the lake which was OK but might be worth asking for a room that you can see the Disney fireworks from. Room 31 on each floor is near the ice vending room (ours was) which can get a little noisy.

This is a good yet not perfect hotel. Positives: Orlinzo at the bar is fantastic, the pool area is wonderful, the lobby is nice and the rooms are upscale. Unfortunately there are a few negatives: the room had a few hairs in the shower, the layout is quite strange, and there are some un-updated areas. Overall this is a good not great hotel.

Stayed at the lake buena vista palace. We got slammed with extra resort fees $22 a day. Plus they charge you a arm and a leg for valet or you can self park for free but in order to get to the car and back you have to go down alot of stairs . One night we came back really late and i had to park very far and the parking lot lacks lighting. There was a huge bug in the balcony. The staff was not all that plesant and when i tried getting into my room the batteries on the door were drained so we had to wait for someone to come fix it before we can even enter. Also there were no towels in the bathroom. had to call for towels and they took over a hour. When i called the front desk they mentioned they were busy. The pool and outside area needs a huge update. Just overall not to happy with the stay.

This hotel is a great place to stay...the rooms are very clean and the beds are so comfortable. Service was excellent from the check in to the check out. This hotel is a five minute walk to Downtown Disney. Highly recommended...you will not be disappointed.

Just got back from a family & friends vacation to Disney. This hotel was very nice, staff was friendly and rooms were comfortable. I had a two bedroom suite which is actually a one bedroom suite with a connecting room. This provided 2 1/2 bathrooms, a living room, 3 TV's and 4 queen sized beds. The only issue was the view, it was of the garbage dump for the hotel (4230 & 4231, room #'s). I don't understand why one of the more expensive rooms would overlook a dumpster, so if you go for the 2 bedroom suite don't take room 4230/4231 unless you don't mind looking at a dumpster. The location is great for Disney Marketplace (across the street) however the bus transportation provided by the hotel is not good (waited almost 1 hour for a return bus from Disney). Rent a car, it's much easier. The breakfast buffet was excellent and not badly priced. Overall a good hotel for family and friends, but be sure to rent a car!
