Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld
Ranked #135 of 341 Hotels in Orlando
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed October 18, 2011

I stayed here on business recently and was actually extraordinarily impressed. I did not expect much based on the reviews here - just a nice clean room, standard Doubletree amenities (cookies) and reasonably-priced fees like parking and no resort fee.

I was surprised when I arrived at the "resort" feel of the property - it has several lower motel-style buildings and a tall tower. I had a tower room and found it new, clean and well-maintained. I was equally impressed with the impressive breakfast buffet (free for Hilton HHonors Gold members) with ample hot and cold food choices including made-to-order omelettes, breakfast burritos, fresh pastries and breakfast pizza. I've stayed in a lot of Doubletree properties and this is hands-down the best breakfast I can remember at any of them. It's a nice indoor-outdoor property that's generally quiet and secluded considering the location.

I had a bad experience overall on my trip to Orlando due to a bout with food poisoning (NOT hotel food-related) that took me out of commission for 24 hours. The staff at room service was super at accommodating special requests for bland foods and I was deeply appreciative for their help.

I'd absolutely stay here again. It's not high luxury, mind you, but the value for what you get is quite good. Shop around and you may find good packages that include breakfast or parking (or both). You'll enjoy your stay here.

We can’t thank you enough for your outstanding review of our hotel and breakfast buffet at Bamboo Grill. Although no one ever wants to be sick while travelling, we are happy to hear our staff was able to accommodate your food requests during that time. The Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld, situated on 28 acres of lush tropical landscaped property, creates a warm and tranquil travel oasis for our guests and we are thrilled you found it a good value. We hope you’re on the mend and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Stayed at the Doubletree Resort from September - October 10th and very impressed. Our room was on the 11th floor in the tower and room was spotless. Our maid cleaned our rooms to a very high standard daily. The grounds of the hotel were beautifully maintained. We didn't eat at the restuarant (Bamboo Grille) as we found the meals quite expensive, but instead went across the road to eat at the Village Inn which offered a 10% discount if you stayed at the Doubletree. The hotel shuttle which goes to and from the most popular parks were very good but be prepared for a long(er) journey as the bus also picks up and drop off from other hotels. The hotel is also well served by the iRide Trolley stop and Lynx Bus stops directly outside the hotel which is handy for trips along International Drive and beyond. The only downside was our arrival at check-in. Due to a long flight delay we arrived at the hotel very late after midnight and the check-in lady was a little irritated(!) when we didn't produce the document needed to check in fast enough! Okay we were tired too (a 5 hour delay and an 8 hour flight can take it out of you!) but we did feel it wasn't the most warmest of welcomes after travelling for so long to get there. However, the lovely cookies did compensate for that and we were happy to finally get into our room to crash out. Would we stay again? Yes definitely!

We stayed at the Doubletree for two weeks and enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a Pure Room and it was a big room with a very comfortable bed and was very quiet. This was arranged by April Willis and she was great to contact via email before we arrived and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. It was in block 8 at the back towards Sea World, this suited us as it was by the car park and so was convenient for going out each day, we weren't bothered about a garden or pool view. We ate at the Bamboo Grill one night and the food was lovely and not too expensive. Our server was Chris and he was very helpful and pleasant. We went to Village Inn across the road as it was convenient but I have reviewed that separately as we weren't happy with them at all.

Didn't have any problems with anything at Doubletree and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Blocks 8 and 9 face the car park and are quiet, good to keep an eye on your hire car and it is close...

This hotel is in a perfect location when you're going to Sea World. There is a walk-way from the hotel, with Sea World being about a 10 minute walk. You save $14 on parking by walking. The hotel and staff are wonderful. Every staff member is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and fresh. The hotel has at least 3 pools and is VERY kid and pet friendly. The breakfast buffet is awesome! My family and I (including our dog) have stayed at this location twice now in 2011.

If you are heading to Disney or Universal Studios, the hotel is centrally located to both. Very easy to get to either theme park from this Doubletree.

We will be back.

We stayed at the doubletree as part of a 2 part package deal for our honeymoon. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. The lobby is very welcoming and impressive.

When checking in we told the lady at the front desk that it was our honeymoon and we were upgraded to a tower room 17th floor!!! We didn't receive a cookie though! Can't really moan after the upgrade!

The room was spacious, king bed and large bathroom with attractive decor. We had a view over international drive towards the convention centre. Fresh coffee is provided in each room daily and also shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Plenty of pillows and towels.

There are 3 pools, we only used one of the, which was largest and attracted less children to it! There is a pool especially for children with a pool table and other activities for them.

We ate in the restaurant 3 times whilst we were there and the food was amazing! I was able to change a few dishes to suit my needs. The price of food is average for Orlando and you can pay nearly the same in the popular diners on I drive. The drinks were a little on the expensive side, although they do a deal of 5 budweisers for $12 - however not everyone drinks this.

There is a small gift shop which also sells everything you may need whilst on holiday from souvenirs to magazines and from food to phone cards. Max's deli is also on site and sells snacks and drinks all day, however it doesn't advertise very well the items it does sell.

We didn't buy tickets for the parks before we went as we have visited them many times before. We decided whilst we were there that we would visit universal. We visited the ticket centre in the lobby and spoke to a man regarding time share - we knew to do this from past experience as giving up a few hours of your time will reward you with some cheap deals. We went along to the time share talk, had a free breakfast and received an amazing deal for our tickets we paid $125 dollars for 2 x 7 day universal tickets!!! Not bad hey! Just make sure you don't get caught up the time share spiel - they are good!

We ate at the village inn across the road - just another diner and nothing to shout about however they do good pie for dessert!

We also ate at delmonicas over the road - this was outstanding!

The hotel provide a shuttle to the parks but we were finished by 3pm and the bus wasn't picking up until 6.20 you can get the lynx bus back down I drive or jump in a cab for about $20. There is an I ride trolley stop right outside the hotel and the I ride trolleys are supposed to be every 20 mins but they are very hit and miss - we waited up to 40 minutes for one and also as the hotel is so close to sea world - avoid closing time as you won't get on the bus!!!

All in all this is a great hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

Don't drink the water in the room - we were charged at the end of our stay for it as we though it was complimentary! This was taken off our bill once we discussed this with the receptionist.

Also make sure you the concierge don't assign the town car to you if you ask for a taxi - they like to use this rather than a local taxi firm. The town car will cost an extra $10 or so per trip.

We eventually received a cookie - they are delicious!

Congratulations! It is wonderful that you were able to enjoy this part of your honeymoon with an upgraded room. It is great that you were able to take advantage of so many of the amenities offered and what a compliment it is to hear how you found the food and dining amazing here at our resort. We do regret you did not receive a cookie during check in. They are baked on-site each day and we appreciate your patience until we were able to get you a warm and fresh Doubletree Cookie to you as soon as they were ready. We look forward to seeing you again at the Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld and best wished to you both!

Stayed here for seven nights in september, only thing that would have improved our stay would have been a room in the main building. Ate at the restaurant twice, the food was amazing, freshly cooked and huge portions. The shuttleservice was brilliant, lots of choice of times and pick ups from all disney parks.

We are happy to hear you were able to enjoy a couple meals at the Bamboo Grill and found the shuttle service worked well for your needs. Although there is no mention of why you were not able to stay in the main building, we hope your next visit to the Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld you can do just that. We stayed at the Doubletree as part of a two week break for our honeymoon. The reception wasn't very welcoming on arrival, and disappointingly despite it being our honeymoon and honours members we didn't get upgraded. The first room given to us was on a downstairs busy junction location so we asked to swop to an upstairs which was no problem to them. The rooms were nice, large bed and suite area, no fridge but the ice machine being nearby meant we could keep the sink stocked with the ac going so we could keep our drinks cool. The hotel had some good amenties, loads of pools to choose from, golf and laundry. We had a very nice meal in their restaurant one evening which wasn't too pricey. We found instead of going across to the Village every day for breakfast that the Max Deli sold bagels and fresh juice. You have to toast them yourselves using their toasters in the store but you got ample free butter and cream cheese and its cheapers and tip free. We used their shuttle to get to disney and universal. It wasn't very busy season which was great as the parcs were relatively queue free. The back gate leads to seaworld so you don't have to get the bus or I trolley, also you can get the 50 bus to disney from there also if you don't get the hotel shuttle - or come back by the 50 bus if you want longer there.

All in all it was a very pleasant stay although not very special for a honeymoon. Would definately book there again as was very clean and good location. TIp :- you can ask anytime for cookie they readily gave them out - not just at booking in time which was nice.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room. The garden rooms are nice but if you don't get an upgrade you won'...
