“Great hotel, ideally located”
Reviewed March 16, 2012

Had a fantastic stay here, we visited here on our honeymoon and they automatically upgraded us to a fantastic room.
Ideally located for universal and seaworld, next door to wet n wild. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed on the 14th floor for 2 nights last week and the room was nice and quiet, people don't have to walk by your room very often since it is a circle instead of a hallway. The room is a nice size and the bathroom is pretty big. You also get 2 free waters which is nice, and there is free popcorn in the lobby in the evening. There is a security guy in the lobby/by the front door so I don't know if they have people trying to sneak in, you need keycard access to your floor from the elevator. Checking out from the tv was a nice touch too, don't have any complaints about the hotel and it met my needs.

We found this hotel to be very satisfactory. The location is great, and the entire staff was so helpful. The rooms are clean and have more than enough room for 2 people, the only bad thing I can think of is that the coffee maker is in the bathroom. The outdoor pool bar is adequate, but the bar staff made up for the shortcomings! We ate in the restaurant once for breakfast and once for dinner--both were very good, service was great. The grab and go breakfast items that they offer for sale in the lobby every AM is a nice feature. We were on the 17th floor--the view of the city was very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for one one on an upper floor.

We booked this hotel as part of a package on the Universal Studios web site. For the price, it does not meet expectations. It's very busy, rooms are small for 4 people, and its very noisy. The coffee maker in the bathroom is a disgusting feature, as are the brown lint ridden blankets. Even the Fairfield Inn I stayed in last time has switched to duvets. Rooms are clean however and staff is friendly. If you plan to go to Universal it's important to know that shuttles only run morning and evening, not throughout the day.

I was not very impressed with this hotel, It was ok, but not for the price and the Sheraton name it fell short of my expectations. It also didn't help that the ice machine was directly in front of our room so it sounded like "call of duty" when someone was getting ice out. "don't worry honey, that's not a machine gun, its just the ice machine" Now if you are going to universal like we were then the location is great.

Room Tip: One that doesn't have the ice machine from hell

We just got back from staying at this hotel while visiting both Universal parks and Animal Kingdom. The location was good, very easy to find due to the height and sphere on top of the hotel. It is only about a mile from the parking garage that you use for both Universal parks and City Walk. You could probably walk to Universal but I wouldn't recommend it. We used a pedometer the first day to measure how far we walked at Islands of Adventure - 10 miles. After that long of a day, plus waiting for dinner at City Walk, there was no way we would want to walk back to the hotel. It only costs $15 to park which I think is reasonable. The hotel was fairly clean, especially for being close to an amusement park and probably getting a lot of visitors. Everytime we walked into the lobby, it smelled like cinnamon or something similar. Really amazing and welcoming after a long day at the parks with lots of sweaty people. All of the staff at the hotel were really nice and helpful! We stayed there for four nights and had to move rooms once because of a large roach in our room. I don't hold that against the hotel because I expect bugs in Florida due to the rain. And the ac in our room broke once, but they rushed up and put a new unit in at 10 pm. I'm really impressed by that kind of service! Overall I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Oh and we booked the hotel through a package deal online with Universal so we got a free breakfast buffet each morning. It was nothing exciting - eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage etc plus drinks, but that helped save on money.

We stayed here for a short trip to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Our plan was to hit the parks for two days straight, so we wanted a simple, clean, and comfortable place to stay. It is nothing fancy, but we were very impressed by the service and comfortable rooms. The location is literally right down the street from Universal, but without the outrageous prices of staying onsite. It was not cheesy at all and the guests were mostly upper middle class families. The kids relaxed at the end of the day in the heated pool.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Universal.
