The overall stay at the hotel was outstanding. Those personnel assisting at checkin did an outstanding job. The manager at checkin was Jim Berkley and Jim was very capably assisted by Ann Marie. Ann Marie was very helpful and a delight to talk to.

I wanted to like this hotel..... but can not recommend it. There were some positives, but overall it falls short of the Renaissance brand.

The pros include a beautiful lobby, quick and efficient service from the airport shuttle, and larger than average, well appointed rooms. The pool area is quite nice. We enjoyed a decent room service breakfast, delivered on time at 6 a.m. before an early flight, only ordered for one but the meal included enough coffee for two generous servings of two cups each and tableware and cups for two so we could share.

We requested two keys. One did not work in our room or the business center. Took it down to reception and had it reprogrammed. Our room had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, iron and ironing board... and an in-closet safe that wasn't working. The safe looked old, with duct tape hanging from a corner. We called and engineering was there in 15 minutes to replace the battery... but it seems housekeeping might have noticed. The were a few pieces of trash in the hall outside our room when we checked in, still there when we checked out.

We decided to try the restaurant bar for a light dinner. There are many dining chain options a short walk from the hotel, but we thought bar food should be a safe bet. Ordered a drink straight up; it came with ice so I took it back to the bar to explain straight up means without ice. The bartender poured it through a strainer into another glass, thereby removing the ice and serving me a short portion - the drink was about two-thirds the correct serving. Didn't want to get into a discussion with the bartender, so just shrugged it off, but no doubt a short pour. We ate fish and chips, served without any side such as cole slaw, bread, etc. Edible, but we could have done better at any of the chains and were sorry we'd opted to stay in the hotel.

The bill in the morning showed an $11.00 parking charge. We arrived without a car, explained this and the charge was removed.

The room was booked on Hotwire for $72.00. For that rate, it was OK, but just OK. The short drink in the bar, mediocre food, trash in the hall, malfunctioning key, need to get engineering to get the safe in working order, parking charge for a non-existent car...... doesn't add up to a quality hotel stay. In the past few years traveling in and out of Orlando we've stayed at the airport Hyatt, two Hampton Inns, the airport Mariott, a Crown Plaza, and one or two I've forgotten, all better experiences. All were booked through Priceline or Hotwire as opaque bids; we're not picky about a hotel for a one night pre or post flight stay, but this Renaissance hotel disappointed.

We appreciate your candid remarks about our hotel. It seems that although many features of our property met your expectations there were some conditions you were unhappy with. The entire team at the Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel is dedicated to providing excellent service and an impeccable guestroom and food & beverage product thus it is very disappointing to hear we failed to deliver our promise in some ways during your stay. We apologize again and do hope we are able to to have you as a guest in the future if you travel to Orlando again.

Our one night stay at this hotel was very enjoyable as well as great food and friendly staff! We ate outside at the resturant and had the special of the night which was very good. Hotel room was very clean, spacious and relaxing. The only thing in our room that I came across that was a downfall was the music on the clock radio did not work (which was not anything that ruined our evening)

We stayed here after our flight from the airport was canceled (at our expense). Accommodations were excellent and the staff offered a warm welcome. The newly renovated lobby is impressive and offers an upscale modern vibe. The breakfast buffet had a great selection. The hotel shuttle was an added bonus. No complaints. While we used Priceline for this last minute reservation, this hotel will be at the top of the list in the future.

I travel with my husband for business and stay in only Marriott brand hotels. When we're in Orlando due to my husband's long term business project, we love the Renaissance hotel by the airport. People work at the hotels make the biggest difference for travelers, especially the silent hard workers of housekeeping. We're blessed with the wonderful and courteous house service lady, Gabriella, here at Renaissance Orlando airport. I have bad allergies, she would do everything to make me feel comfortable, not to mention her daily detailed and extra clean services. We're fortunately enough to stay on the consigliere floor because of my husband's Elite status with Marriott, the breakfast service lady in he consigliere lounge, Tatiana, is a breathe of fresh air everyday, not to mention her sweet and courteous attitude. She cares enough to remember our names and our likes/ dislikes! Also, the front desk stuff is always so helpful whenever I need something, especially, Iris, she remember me from 2011, treated me like an old friend coming back to visit.
We'd stay here at this wonderful Renaissance Hotel Orlando Airport every time we come visit.

Room Tip: If you're a single traveler, ask for a room without an join door with the next room.

We have stayed at the Renaissance Airport serveral times. The location is supberb. Located next to the Parking Spot. We can drop off our car then walk to the hotel. Very convenient.
The rooms are spacious, but have a slight moldy odor. This has been our finding on several occasions. The bathrooms are showing their age as well. I actually would bring an airfreshner to try to "hide" the moldy smell in the room.

The bar/restaurant is good. The bartenders are great as always. Dinner was okay. Nothing to write home about. The breakfast buffet is good. Good variety.

The staff is always very kind.
As I stated, this use to be our go to hotel when we fly out of Orlando. But due to the smell in the rooms it is our "if we have to" hotel. Our hope is that the renovation from the lobby and fitness center extends to the rooms.

Thank you for your nice review of our hotel and your guest frequency. It seems that although many features of our property meet your expectations there were some conditions you were unhappy with. I would love to get more information about the room number you have noticed this with as this is not a common concern that we have heard before. The newly renovated lobby truly is stunning, and makes you almost forget that this is a hotel close to the airport. Super friendly staff, nice and spacious rooms. Unfortunately, although having rooms on the Club level, we couldn't use it: it is closed on Saturday evenings.
Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel! We travelled as a family of four, and had connecting rooms, which worked great. Our kids even tried the outdoor pool and hot tub!
