After leaving Daytona Beach early due to a hotel that wasn't clean, we expected the Radisson to be a three-star hotel as they claim at Hotwire. What a disapointment. The first two standard rooms we inspected were dirty and had very old mattresses. The third standard room had newer mattresses but was not clean. The front desk only showed us one deluxe room that would have cost $25 more. The room was nicer but the carpet had numerous black stains throughout the room, so we decided it wasn't worth the extra $25. We will not stay at any more Radissons unless they refund what we paid to Hotwire in response to the comment card we mailed in.

Stayed here in May 2005 and couldn't fault it in any way. Was such good value for money, room was great (and in resort part of hotel, dont believe all the other reviews). i was really worried about staying here when I read all of the other reviews but was very happy when I got there with both my room and the staff. We had a problem with our refridgerator at one point so phoned reception and a maintanence guy arrived in 2 minutes!!!! He was unable to fix it so brought us another one right away (5 minutes at most). Staff very extremely helpful and pleasant, and grounds were very nice, everywhere was so clean and smelled very fresh, even the stairwells! Will definately stay there again next time I go to orlando. Just to Reitterate - Don't listen to all the bad reviews, I really dont know what people are expecting for their money, 5 star luxury?

I stayed in this hotel in April of 2005 for a week. My sister in law and her husband also stayed here. She had got there before we did to check in. She called us and said her room (older part) had a musty smell to it, door did not close all the way, large gap under door. She said she did not feel safe and took the upgrade. When we got there we opted for the upgrade right away and paid twenty dollars extra per night. We had booked via hotels and go the older room for 86.00 a night so paid about 106.00 + tax, but worth it. The newer rooms are very spacious, refrig, microwave, large bathroom, and all around newer. We stayed on the seventh floor and had a great veiw of the strip. The location is excellent with walking distace to many major restraunts and close to disney and all other attractions. My mom also stayed there and took the shuttle to Universal. She said it was on time and FREE which is a plus. Did not eat in the restruant on site so can not comment about that. The pool was decent could use a fresh coat of paint. The hot tub a little run down. All in all the hotel was okay. I thought it could use a face lift and was slightly disappointed for a Radisson.

We stayed at the Radisson a few years ago across for Universal Studios (now Double Tree Hotel) and thought we would be in for just a great experience. Not so. I can't say that it is a horrible hotel, but it definitely is not some place I would like to stay for a vacation. We were there for a funeral so we were not looking for something 4 star, but still wanted something nice. The rooms were clean, but definitely need updating are are dark. The whole hotel could use a fresh coat of paint. All the rooms in the area we stayed in were outside rooms. Meaning it was not inside a building. I would only stay there again if I just needed some place to lay my head for a low price.

We stayed at the hotel during the easter period and we also were pretty alarmed at the reports, hence our attempts to upgrade to the tower rooms before departing without success. However upon checking in we were immediately offered an upgrade to the tower rooms with the receptionist stating the standard rooms might not be to our liking!!!. At this point it became apparent that the staff were on the sell, and having inspected the standard rooms and the tower rooms which were miles apart as far as comfort , facilities and overall standard were concerned, we liased again with the recepionist, who clearly had the objective of charging us as much as possible to the extent that we sort of ended up bartering for our rate to stay in the toer room since the standard was not 4 star as indicated but lower 3.We ended up paying 11.50 dollars more per room per night. Although we felt somewhat conned it at least made our stay comfortable for the duration. In hindsight, probably paid too much, got caught ,wont make the same mistake again. Good points being location of hotel, quiet, but very few staff spoke fluent English

We stayed at the Radisson Barcelo March 20-25 2005. We stayed there last year too in the "Resort" Building (older, outdoor corridors) instead of the "Tower". We had great service from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. Good food via room service and delivered pretty quickly. The room was large and very clean. They could stand to redecorate but the room and bathroom were very clean. From the fifth floor we could see the fireworks at Disney and over to the immediate west someplace (not sure who was putting them on). We also had a nice view of the pool and the tennis court. The pool is very large and very warm (as opposed to some of the other hotels in Orlando who claim to have heated pools but don't). The pool bar is convenient as is parking. The grounds were kept very clean. The hotel is in a great location and within a short walking distance to 3 grocery stores. The hotel was packed with teenagers because it is next to the Y and the Junior Swim Nationals were being held there but it wasn't terribly noisy and because of the Y building the noise from I-4 is blocked which was nice. This is by no means a luxery hotel but I was very happy staying there for the price we paid!!

We just returned from two nights there. I booked reluctantly after reading the reviews but it was really fine for our cost ($79/night). The outside halls in the old part (where we stayed) look run down and need repair, but our room was clean and large. We asked for a higher room and got 5th floor which was nice. Pool area looked good. We stayed here to go to Sea World and then move on. Location is really good. If you want to take the shuttle, know that they only go one time a day! We missed it, but had a car anyway, so it was ok. I wouldn't recommend it as a destination resort, but for under $100, it did the job.
