“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2010

Arrived on 23/10 bit apprehensive as never stayed on International drive with no car previously. Check in very quick, asked for adjoining rooms and got them. Went off on our merry way to find the rooms and seemed to be walking forever. Eventually found block G and up to 7th floor. Opened door to find good sized room with 2 double beds in (plenty for 2 ad 1 ch), dumped bags and began long trek back to lobby to eat in the hotel restaurant. Food here was average especially as we didn't know the area. Kids eat free was good and total bill for 4 adults was approx $68 dollars for all you can eat buffet. After we were fed and watered we made our way back to the rooms vowing to ask to be moved in the morning nearer to main hotel as we had 2 pensioners in our group and fell into bed.
Next morning up early and had a wander round and found a much shorter route to and from hotel so decided to stay where we were as rooms were very quiet with very little people going past them. Door opened onto balcony facing I4 but to be honest once the door was closed we never heard any traffic noise even when the road was at its busiest. There were 3 swimming pools which weren't crowded at any time during our stay. Pools 2 & 3 weren't heated and were very cold. Pool 1 was heated and was lovely. At all pools there was a towel hut for you to take towels to use which was very handy as you weren't lugging wet towels back to the room.
Housekeeping was in every day and could not be faulted in any way. Room left spotless after every visit and let me tell you that was no mean feat in our case !! Clean towels left daily.
We were unable to work the electronic safe on our 1st day but 1 phone call to reception sorted it. Maintenance man appeared within 5 mins of making the call and sorted it all out in 30 seconds!!
The location of this hotel is superb. I ride trolley stops right outside making travel very easy. There is also a lynx stop right outside. Lots of choices of places to eat all around the hotel.
Lite bite deli shop open 24hrs on site was good if slightly expensive. There was karaoke 3nights per week in zebra bar but no other entertainment but wasn't needed as sleep was main priority after a day in the parks or a day shopping!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we wouldn't hesitate to return on our next trip!

Hotel was recommended by a friend that has stayed there for the last 6 trips to Orlando. Hotel lobby was bright and welcoming checked in no problem. Room was very clean and comfortable we requested a cot for our baby which was brought up to us straight away. The pool was good loads of sunbeds and towels even if they did play the same songs over and over by the pool. The hotel resturant had a good selection of foods for breakfast and dinner but we choose to eat at Sizzlers just next to the hotel $3.99 all u can eat breakfast u cant go wrong There is also a hotel shop on the premisis its expensive but very handy there is also a Walgreens across the road which has everything and its open 24hrs. They privide a free shuttle bus to Universal booked the day before. The I trolley passes right outside the hotel which is handy to get up and down International Drive. The only problem i had was the maintenance i had a problem in the laundry room i reported the problem and no one turned up to fix it. Will definately return there again and would highly recommend it to anyone

We travelled with our two young kids and extended family on 14th October.. and we loved it!....
The hotel is well kept I am at a loss as to why people have given it bad reviews for the reasons they have given. The weather was brilliant and we loved the whole atmosphere. It is fair to say the yanks know how to put a show on.
Some people siad the hotel is like a motel and i can sort of see what they mean but in a good way. The I 4 runs next to the hotel on one side and International Drive runs on the other so it is a busy location but i expected that and sort of wanted it that way as you dont come to orlando for a beach/relaxing and quiet holiday, its about being in the middle of everything so you aren't travelling all the time. There are plenty of shops, restauarants and touristy things to do really close to the hotel. We went to Pointe Orland for food a couple of times, particularly liked Hooters :), only for the food of course.
The Positives
The rooms - Fine, if i am honest could probably do with a moderning but the hotel is in the process of this after a change of ownership. The beds are comfy, the air conditioning works well and the rooms were kept clean by the maid. We used the safe and the TV had local cable (i think). The Hotel has free wifi which is a big bonus, some of our group brought laptops knowing this and were able to check park times and local interests. Our room number was 4710, which is the very far end of the complex (building G), it was a walk to reception but nothing to whinge about. One trip advisor reviewer suggested you share your balcony with 14 other rooms??.. there are no balconys, it is just a walk way to your room and i am not sure how you could describe it as a balcony.
Great location - close to everything, itrolley, etc stops outside although we hired a mini van so didn't really use public transport . The parks are all 20-30 mins away from this hotel with Sea world and Universal 10 mins away really. We literally got to the Magic Kingdom 25 mins after setting off.
The ammenities - the shop is great with loads of food, snacks and everything, its even stocked some english favourites... i suppose the only down side is you pay for it being so close. It is far cheaper to use walgreens over the road and even better Walmart which is only a ten minute drive. We used the laundry a couple of times and had no problems, i would buy some washing powder somehwere else as opposed to using the vending machines (not the freshest smell really). The pools aren't very big but still good, clean towels/area and when we stayed we were able to get a sunbed no problem.
The Bar - happy hours were useful, we met with the rest of the family most nights and sometimes ordered food i.e. pizza, burgers, etc. The Bud on draught is good and wines fine, they play a lot of english footy (huge bonus as i was having withdrawl symtoms)
The negative (only one really)
Food - i wouldnt recommend eating at the hotel, its buffet style and good for the free kids meals with pizza, etc, but a bit naff for everything else, bit school dinnerish.
Tips
The parks - get a 14 day pass from the uk, well worth it and gives you loads of flexibility with the parks, i.e. going to Animal Kingdom in the morning and then go to epcot for lte afternoon and evening fireworks.
Island of Adventure and Epcot were are favourites for the older members of our group with obviously Magical Kingdom and Universal Studios for the younger ones. Epcot fireworks were out of this world, the international food, scenery and weather makes Epcot and a chilled interesting place. Magical kingdom is just that, magical!!!
Hire a car if you can as we found it no problem driving on the other side of the road and traffic was nice and easy (Alamo car rental were poor). Disney waterparks were amazing.
Try TGI Fridays, Sizzlers for breakfast, Blue Indian restaurant, Hooters :).
We went to Wonderworks which is worth a visit but a little pricey, the show was brilliant.
Fly Virgin, especially with such a long flight.

The GOOD things about this hotel -

Our room was cleaned every day, our beds tidied, fresh towels provided and toiletries, coffee and tea restocked. Our room was basic but very comfortable, had 2 double beds, a couple of chairs, table, safe (free), tv, tea/coffee maker, bath with shower, air-conditioning, a small kitchen type area which included a fridge, microwave and hair-dryer.

It was great value for money, in a good location (middle of International Drive), easy access to the I-Ride Trolley and Lynx buses, which you can catch just outside of the hotel grounds.
From the hotel by bus or trolley it is about 10-15 minutes to SeaWorld, 20-25 minutes to Universal and 40-45 minutes to Disney World.

Just a couple of BAD things we encountered at this hotel -

We thought the food served in the restaurant wasn't that great, especially the dinners we had, not a great variety and didn't taste very nice, breakfast not as bad, was all quite expensive though!
This isn't a big problem as this is solved by eating elsewhere, we preferred going to Sizzler for breakfast, plenty of variety there and tasty too! Try Friendly's for Dinner as they were awesome and good value for money, they also do the most amazing ice-cream flavours ever!

There were not enough washing machines and tumble dryers, only a few available to our 6 floor building!

Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone, we will probably will be going back to stay again next year.

Booked this trip last minute and found this hotel by accident. What a find! 10 miles from the Orlando airport (MCO). . This is a 1,000 + room facility that is a series of three story buildings connected by open walkways and gardens. Two outdoor pools, an out door play ground and indoor arcade are all family friendly. The 24 hr. hotel store carries everything from asprin and baby products to alcohol and beer. Hot food is also prepared here ( all fair priced) The lobby offers easy access to the buffet dining room and very nice lobby bar with an outdoor area with t.v.'s for sports fans. Check in was easy due to late arrival ( 1130 pm) and was assigned to first floor room 3117. Secure parking lot for guests only. I was able to park right outside the door wjhich made it very easy to get around town and return to the room. The room was very clean and well stocked with towels, microwave, and fridge. Water pressure in the shower left a lot to be desired but other than that, no room issues.
Pool area was clean with free towels pool side. Plenty of chairs and loungers as well as low volume music for those without ipods or Mp3 players. The hotel provided inflated beach balls and some pool toys that seemed very well shared.
Our reservation included breakfast buffet. It was well stocked, clean and well tended to. I would have paid the $9.95 a person and would have been full enough to skip lunch.
This hotel is directly across the street from Point Orlando that is a great place for everything for a movie ( 12 theaters) to shopping ( Brighton's, an Art gallery, Victoria secret) to a bunch of food and drink locations for bar and foodie hopping (BB King club and a dinner theater with stand up comedy. Consider taking advantage of the helicpoter tour next to the hotel. it was a 8 - 10 minute ride that we will not forget soon. Very smooth and very fun!
Check out was very quick and we left smiling.
