This was our second stay at this property. We returned because of the location (great for Sea World, good for Universal, not great for Disney), but mainly because of the price. This is absolutely a no-frills hotel, located right next to a major highway, but it has some good amenities nearby and is clean.

Location: Right in the middle of International Drive, good if you want to walk to a few restaurants in the evenings. It's not far from Sea World at all, a short drive to Universal Studios but it's not great if Disney is to be your main destination (there are much closer similar hotels). There is plentiful parking but International Drive is very busy so it can take a long time to get anywhere. The hotel backs onto a major highway and there's no escaping it - you can hear the road throughout the property.

Rooms - the bedrooms were clean and the beds comfortable, although they are small doubles (smaller than UK standard which is 4'6", I suspect these are 4' doubles). The rooms were fine for us as we had two adults in them. The rooms are well equipped with a good sized TV, wardrobe and clothes storage, a tiny desk and fridge/microwave/sink area. The bedrooms themselves are modern but the bathrooms are small and let this hotel down, they need modernising. There was usually plenty of hot water but the hottest setting isn't particularly warm if you like hot showers. There was no wifi available in our room, but this worked fine in all other areas of the property so if you want wifi, do not accept a room at the end of a corridor. The hotel has, thankfully, replaced all of the door locks in this room as they were definitely at the end of their life; the doors generally need replacing as they are in an interesting state and can be difficult to close securely (which is a bit of an issue as they open directly to an outside corridor).

Resort: This hotel is HUGE. If you want to be close to the bar, restaurant, play area, shop, reception etc. then you need to be in A B or C block otherwise you are a considerably distance away. The pool at this end is also very nice and offers the most greenery and shelter from the road. The other two pools experience a lot of road noise, are mainly concrete and offer very little shade. F and G blocks are furthest from reception; several minutes walk. D and E blocks are somewhere in between.

Pools: There are three reasonably sized pools. The pool by A block is by far the most pleasant, offering shade and greenery. The other two are largely concrete and experience ths most road noise. Whilst we stayed during warm weather (April), these two pools were quite cold. Being a family resort, there are a LOT of children in the pools. If you are in D block, you can overlook several of the pools and even walk right out onto it which is nice. Interestingly, one afternoon a gentleman arrived with a loud-speaker, promoting suncream through it in the form of a sales pitch, which disturbed an otherwise fairly peaceful afternoon - we left.

Service - We found this to be pretty good. Check-in was slow and the member of staff checking us in walked off half way through to deal with another issue...! The housekeeping staff are fabulous and clean the rooms to a very high standard. We had more issues with them continually checking that everything is OK by knocking on the room doors!

We did have a couple of issues during our stay. The first was that the fridge was freezing everything in it; a gentleman appeared within 10 minutes and pulled out the fridge to adjust the settings which resolved the issue. The second issue was the stench of cigarette smoke from another room in the block pouring through the vents in the bathroom. The hotel were very sympathetic and offered to move our room which we declined (we were there for over a week and were not about to pack everything up and relocate to accommodate those who did not abide by the hotel's no-smoking policy). The issue continued for several nights until I assume the smokers checked out. It would appear, then, that this policy is not enforced which I suppose is good if you are a smoker, but not so good for the rest of us.

One final thing to mention is that this hotel is a little like a Benidorm resort for Brits, in that it is a real favourite hotel amongst UK package holidays and seemingly hundreds of people arrive in bulk daily. It's not really an issue given that Orlando is one enormous commercial enterprise, but it definitely has that feel about it.

Would we stay again? Yes, but only if the price was right. The compromises needed to stay in this hotel (road noise, size, motel-style, small beds, sales pitches by the pool) have to be offset by lower prices.

Room Tip: A, B and C blocks have the best access to amenities. They seem to be by far the most popular. F and...

This is a very clean and remodeled motel that is only a few miles from Universal Studios. The check in was quick and the staff is very friendly.

Beds were comfortable.
Ate at the breakfast buffet it was okay for the price. If you want to have something quick and economical this would be a good place to eat.
This motel is centrally located and in walking distance to many other resturants and activities.
Only a few miles outside of Universal Studios.

I spent 4 nights in April of 2013. The place was busy with lots of families. Check in staff was pleasant, and I was given a room prior to regular check in time which was much appreciated. Rooms were clean, and beds were average. Nothing comparable to a heavenly type bed at a Westin but relatively comfortable none-the-less. It was nice to have a Starbucks on-site in the morning, and it was also nice to have a snack shop in the hotel. The lounge was also pleasant. Pool seemed way to small for the number of rooms, and was quite crowded most days. I also, noticed some litter and yucky stains on the sidewalk that didn't get addressed during my stay.

My "average" rating is based on a couple things.....general accommodations and ground keeping, some unannounced maintenance that was loud and early and a follow-up telephone solicitation that I didn't care for.

The maintenance involved a pneumatic hammer about 40 feet from my room that started at 8 am. How about a little notice...or how about waiting until August when its slower? Or how about waiting until after, say, 10 am? As a side note - I also noticed a painting crew on a scaffold outside my building. Again, can't this type activity be scheduled during the off-season? I don't get it. while traveling, I gave 1 place my cell number (Rosen Inn).

One day after check out I received some nonsense solicitation call on my cell phone from a Florida number with a "special offer" in Orlando. Some people may not care about these calls, but I find them annoying - plus I didn't authorize my cell number to be used or sold for solicitation purposes.

I've certainly stayed in worse places having traveled extensively, but I can't be fair in giving this place a rating better than "average." Hope you have better luck.

Third time we have stayed at this hotel and have never been disappointed, it gets better every time. Staff are very approachable and always happy to help. rooms are quite large and spotlessly clear, cleaned daily with new towels added and coffee replenished each day. We had 2 large queen sized beds, large TV,bath and shower, fridge and IT access as needed. There is a restaurant, bar, bar snacks, lite bite shop. Souvenir shop, 3 x pools, games rooms, kids play area. Everything you need at the hotel. They provide curtesy coaches to all parks, taxis outside and also I ride trolley at end of drive. This hotel is central to everything, not pretentious at all and is a good family orientated hotel which suits all needs.

Room Tip: Request a pool side room if you have children for easy access to pools.

For me, this place was Perfect!!!

Slap bang in the middle of International Drive, (but not the tacky end) Facing Wonderworks and Pointe Orlando with all the beautiful restaurants and cinema's.

We'd read some poor reviews of the hotel before we went and noted that noicse from Interstate 4 was a problem, so we emailed the hotel asking for a room facing away from the traffic and on an upper floor which they took onboard and gave us a perfect room in Block B overlooking the pool. Couldnt be happier...

The room itself was clean and well presented, granted the decor was a little dated but when 90% of my time is spent outside the room, the price i paid for what i received was in my opinion beyond excellent value!! The beds (Two of them) were really comfortable, there is a microwave and coffee machine.

I'd also read terrible reviews of the breakfast so we didnt try it for a couple of days, but then one morning thought it only fair to score it on here, we'd need to try it. It was great! no different to Sizzlers all you can eat breakfast and this one included drinks! Don't trust everything you read on here, as so much is subjective. Give it a go, if its crap, dont eat there again...... i found the menu fine for the price I paid!

Over the years Ive stayed in different places in Orland, but always tried somewhere new the following year! This time, I will be returning to the Rosen Inn. The price is amazing and the location is perfect!!!

Always remember that as well, when you read some dodgy reviews. For the prie you pay, granted its not the Hiton, but for a clean, well positioned hotel, that offers breakfast, a 24 hour shop, free shuttle to Universal Studios and has its own Starbucks, what more can you ask for!

Have a great holiday!!

Room Tip: ask for a high floor (due to noice from the pool) and not facing Interstate 4 (due to traffic noise...

We loved this place, only downside is noise around the pool from nearby i4, but the benefits far outweigh that small issue.
rooms are brilliant, shower is amazing, beds are massive!
Lobby has everything a bar which serves lovely food, a 24 hour shop that serves hot and cold food, a restaurant that we did have breakfast in but found better value elsewhere later..
We are already booked to go back in 2014.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet location, we had block D which was perfect

This hotel is great if you plan to spend most of your days out at the parks. There is different swimming pools located next to different blocks. Perfect central location for ANYTHING on I-Drive. All the staff are so helpful and will go out there way to help. I have stayed here twice and never had one complaint. We always go out for dinner, although once we had a buffet at the restaurant in the hotel and the food was really good. Again if you are going to be spending most of you time during the day at the parks or out and about on I-Drive this is your perfect location and hotel. Clean, simple and good value for money!
