This was my first time staying at a marriott vacation club and i was very impressed. I had a two bedroom villa which was very spacious and came with two bedrooms and bathrooms, full kitchen with cooking and eating items, pull out couch, pull out chair, dinning room table, living room and a washer and dryer. It is located next to the marriott world center and had free parking and internet service and all sorts of activities. There is a shuttle that will take you to the world center. Room was very clean and comfortable.

I stayed in May 2013. I stayed in one of the Villas. The Villa has two rooms. One with Jacuzzi and other a kids room. It has a kitchenette. The wifi is very poor. I stayed in one of the villas which is close to the Pool. If you are expecting to get some work done, i suggest to get a wifi dongle rather than relying on the hotel wifi. The hotel mgmt are very helpful. They have advised that a new cable is being laid out later this year and should fix this is issue.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms have very bad wifi connectivity.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We apologize for the WiFi connection. With so many guests using multiple wireless devices now, we are installing new WiFi lines later this year to accommodate the increase in traffic.

Once every two years we come to Orlando and stay in Royal Palms, its a tradition, i been coming to Orlando since i was 4 yrs old. And looking at pictures and from what memory can tell me this place is always changing. The last time we were visiting, 2013 spring break, i notice they remodeled the place.
With two rooms, and a spacious living rooms it is quite easy to accommodate up to 6 persons if not more. Two in a king size bed in the main bedroom, with a jacuzzi, a shower, a WC, and two separate s....... For the other room there is also a king size bed, and a small bed, which could also be used as a couch. And last in the living room there is a .............. where one adult or two children can be easily accommodated; and its quite comfortable!
I do have to admit that there is not a lot to do with the facilities, we did have a bbq and the hotel staff is really helpful, plus you have all the necessities in your kitchen.
There is a washing machine as well as a dyer so its easy, but i do recommend that you buy soap.
In our case we did not spend a lot of time at the hotel, there are many activities to enjoy in orlando, so if you are planning to stay at the villas most of the time you might get a little board. But there is the option to play golf, and you can rent the equipment there (all this is done in the main Marriott lobby, there is a lorry that can take you there)
The them parks are close as well as some of the main shopping centers, over all it a comfortable place to stay and to enjoy to the fullest

Room Tip: If you go to the lobby, they might offer you a huge discount (almost free) on park tickets if you go...

The property has many ups and a one serious down to recommend it. We stayed using a time share the last full week of April and for that price it was a good overall stay. We had previously stayed at the Marriott's Cypress Harbor and were familiar with the properties. Our room was completely remodeled and had all the necessary requirements for an extended stay. The kitchen was fully equipped with all manner of appliances, pots and pans, and the like. The decor was modern and tasteful. Living room couch folds out into a bed and was predictably uncomfortable to sit on. The other chairs were pretty hard as well. We stayed in the master and the king size bed was fine. The master bath is integrated into the suite with a jacuzzi tub and double sink. The toilet and shower were behind a separate door. The second bath had handicap rails to access the tub and toilet with a detachable shower head. We were in room 4160, more on that later. There was plenty of hot water and the towels were very nice, and plentiful. The second bedroom has a queen and a pull out chair bed and is pretty cramped. All of the tvs were new LG flat screens with good reception and many channels.
There were very few facilities in the clubhouse area, but a shuttle is available to use the facilities at the main hotel. There is no bar or snack bar available. The pool is small, but clean etc. The property is small compared to the other Marriotts in Orlando, such as the Cypress. We requested a room on the top floor and could not be accommodated. We ended up on the second floor under a heard of elephants who seemed to clomp and scrape their way across the floor from 8am to 9pm each day. Not horrible noise, but very distracting. Definitely hold out for a top floor room!
Finally, Orlando accommodations are all about location, location, location. Located on World Center Drive, it was a straight 4.5 mile shot to the Disney parks which makes it worth the while for a time share. The room can hold up to 7 relatively comfortably, It is completely upgraded and it's a breeze to get back to when you need a break from the park.

Room Tip: Do try to get a top floor room away from the highway.

If you are expecting the same type of resort as Grande Vista or Cypress harbor, you will be disappointed. We have stayed at Grande Vista five times, and there is no comparison to the full resort experience that awaits guests there. Cypress Harbor is close, but lags behind in the overall scope and grandeur.....Marriott's Royal Palms is similar in villas, and the amenities within, but is nothing like those resorts.
Royal Palms is small....4 buildings, and one pool. Though it is all up to the Marriott Vacation Club standards, it pales in comparison to the flagship resorts marriott usually put out. There is no food or drink on premises....you must walk up to the hotel (Marriott World Center), and it's over 1/2 mile. This gets old fast....by day three, you want the real deal. Also, the pool is small (the sign says maximum occupancy is 44), whereas the pool at the World Center is one of the biggest I ever saw (and absolutely gorgeous). You end up walking there every day, and ignoring the pool at Royal Palms. Also, it can be a real pain not being able to get a drink or bite to eat while at the pool....more incentive to walk. Lastly, there are virtually none of the activities we have grown used to....barbecues, luau night, musicians, poolside bingo, exercise classes, etc. The hotel does not have any of these, either, so the experience is not the same (though the hotel is a city in itself, with many restaurants, shops, bars, pools, etc.). However, if what you seek is a roomy, clean, immaculate villa with full kitchen, lots of storage, living room, 3 TVs, laundry in your room, seperate bedrooms, quiet and gorgeous setting, and a small pool and clubhouse (which quite frankly is what most families that spend their days at Disney really want!), this is the place. It's right outside the Disney gate, and blows away any hotel room arrangement you can imagine. Just don't call it a true resort.

Room Tip: Choose the building closest to the hotel, it's quieter (away from the highway) and easier to wal...

This is the second year we've stayed here. We love the location and amenities. There are only three buildings so you're never far from anything (pool, courts, store). The rooms have been completely renovated. They are very spacious and well decorated. The pullout sofa bed and day bed are memory foam/temperpedic (very comfy). Having a full size kitchen and washer/dryer are key when you travel with kids. We loved hanging at our pool. This year they added a basketball hoop. It was tough getting them out of the pool every day! They also have great basketball courts. If you're looking for bigger, resort like amenities head up to the Marriott world center via shuttle or short walk. The pool/bar area is phenomenal. Water park is slated to open next month. All the employees we dealt with were friendly, helpful and efficient. We love this resort and would highly recommend.
