If you're going to stay near the attractions, especially SeaWorld, this is a fantastic option for a family. I got a suite with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, dining area and large living room for less than you'd pay for a normal hotel room. It was clean, spacious and it definitely felt like staying at a resort. (jacuzzi spa in the master bedroom!). I'd recommend Cypress Harbour to everyone

We stayed for a week with our two teenagers this August. I had read mixed reviews here, and was a little worried. So, I called ahead and asked that we get a newly renovated unit. The unit we got in building 56 (ground floor) was new(ish) and clean. The funiture and fittings were all well done, and functioning. They layout of all units at this resort is evidently the same or very similar. Basically, 1 very large master BR with jacuzzi, 1 pretty small second bedroom, and a long living room/dining/kitchen area. Not a great layout or use of space, but certainly functional for a week. What was a little wierd (being picky) is the shower area which was cheap aluminum and plastic construction frequently found in 3 star hotels. Not a big deal, but it seemed out of place in an otherwise nicely appointed place. The only other complaint was the very slow internet, since which made checking in to corporate email now and agaain a real pain (maybe a blessing, maybe a curse). The staff, from the guard at the front gate, to the reception staff, to the housekeeping staff were all very friendly and helpful. Check in and check out were efficient and friendly. The gym was modern with good quality equipment and was well kept and clean.

Overall, a very nice place and 4-5 stars is the right rating.

What a fabulous place - from the hot tub in the bedroom to the bug meshed balcony and the whole villa! Absolutely wonderful resort - the facilities are first class, the staff all very friendly and helpful (with perhaps one exception in the shop - a little abrupt and without the smile!). The villa has everything you need, including large washing machine and tumble dryer, dish washer and waste disposal. Can't wait to go back again. Very well situated for the major attractions.

We stayed here in 2009 and returned this year for another week. The accommodations are very nice, our unit was recently renovated -- and now includes 3 TVs. We have been to Orlando 10 times in the last 15 years, staying on and off Disney properties. This location is excellent it is hard to see what anyone could find fault with. Also went to the spa -- nice equipment and great treatment by Jeannette.

I agree with the bulk of the positive reviews. I'll add that the exercise instructors for the 9a classes are excellent, the best I've experienced. I participated in 5 classes - aqua aerobics, pilates and kickboxing, and mat yoga and pilates. None had more than 5 participants except when I dragged my family along. I'll reiterate that the location is great, convenient to everything. The staff and facilities are very good. One of our spa tubs did not work and was not fixed in two visits, but no big deal. Bring a nightlight for the master bath so you don't wake up your partner. the units are perfect. I traveled with 10 family members in two units, 2 seniors, 2 small children. The sofa beds are not for anyone but children. The bug screens are full of bugs - ick - but clearly necessary. Internet service is pitifully slow and unacceptable. For folks who want to purchase park tickets or get directions or upload photos, the internet speed was ridiculous, simply inexcusable. I didn't eat or drink resort fare. We shopped and cooked or ate out. Everything, I mean everything, is convenient to this resort. I never caught sight of the alligator in the lake - darn! We encountered two tolls right by the airport totaling $1.75 so skip the pass offered by the rental companies for $24.

Room Tip: Stayed on 2nd floor of building sixty. It was perfect until a loud family checked in above us on th...

I stayed in a two bedroom villa with my teenage daughter, and all in all I'd say it was an ok stay, nothing spectacular but ok.

The rooms are spacious but a little dated and tired. Kitchen and large living area, master bedroom with (gimmicky) jaccuzi and the extra room which is quite large. Both have en suite bathrooms, and the beds themselves were very comfortable. Air Con works well (essential in Florida over the summer) and you are never left feeling too humid.

The food is not up to much, even though it's a Pizza Hut ours was warm at best and fairly soggy. We were quoted one-and-a-half hours for delivery so went to pick up ourselves.

The hotel make little savings here and there which is a bit off-putting. Bedding wasn't changed all week, I reported a stain on daughters bed and they cut it out of the sheet, I kid you not, only one pack of coffee for the coffee maker, asked for more then seen the note saying I had to buy it, however, even if all you use is one cup and a plate housekeeping put the dishwasher on. Save money on dishwashers and give me more coffee!!! On the plus side, wifi is free and kudos to the hotel for that, I get really annoyed at chargeable internet. Oh, parking is free too of course given you park right at the building. Asked for late check out to be told I could stay 'till 11:00 instead of 10:00, and had to get boarding passes printed....both these interactions with the staff weren't handled brilliantly, but then I guess there is little 'excellent' about this hotel, it is fairly average, and to be fair, we only paid an average price.

Location is great for the Universal end of town and is only 15 minutes from Disney. Be aware, everything at the resort is FAR as it is a large resort, there is very little within walking distance so don't choose this hotel if you don't have a car.

All in all I'd rate this as a great hotel for those with large families who can take advantage of the ample bedding, but it is a little dark and old fashioned, I stayed at the Hilton Parc Soleil last year and rate that considerably higher, their property is newer, better pool, food & restaurant is a lot better and the service is excellent - and we paid a very average price to stay there last time, so if you can get a 2 bed at the Hilton, take it!
