This was a nice hotel, good place. you got what you want for the price. So could not moan.
Staff good at the hotel.
Just found the room a little dark for my liking.
The desk went out its way to sort a room with both microwave and fridge that was working.
The room could done with a freshing up. Hotel needs a remodel soon.
But price and site you cannot argue.
Almost walking to Universal, Wet and Wild right outside. No problem accessing internet in the lobby but rest of the hotel was so so.

We have just returned from this hotel and cannot but give praise for the hard work done by all the staff, Debbie got us a wheelchair for one of our party free of charge and Shakira was very helpful despite being harangued by one of us for the state of the room fist placed in but Shakira did her best and the outcome was successful,Anyone who complains about this place must want Peabodies standard for a budget price, we would recommend this place, ideal location nice pool good rooms and excellent free breakfast.

Just back from this hotel and to be honest we were actually tempting to change hotels before going, after reading all the reviews on this site, all the people on this site must be looking champagne luxury, this hotel is what you call an affordable hotel in a great location if you want 5 star hotel stay elsewhere or pay for it.

We stayed 2 weeks in this hotel, on arrival asked the lady behind the desk if if was possible to get a ground floor, with no problems she took out a plan of the hotel and highlighted which rooms on the ground floor were free and let us pick, we picked our room which was 1430, facing tiki bar and next to the pool, walked in and was surprised at actually how nice it was, it had its faults, one being someone had dropped an iron on the floor and burnt the carpet, and a few marks here and there, but nothing to complain about after all we paid buttons for it, we were more than happy for the price we paid, as for the resort fees, clearly states on booking this hotel that fees are to be paid as we stayed in the econolodge in 2009 and the same fees we had to pay, this comes down to location on I-drive and the price you pay for the hotel, the dearer hotels include these fees in the booking.

The breakfast is free, (FREE) its not going to be Cooked breakfast by Gordon Ramsay or Jamie Oliver. I loved the breakfast as I like Fruit loops and toast and as for the previous review on coffee being watered down, I don't know what other way to make coffee other than to add water unless they were maybe expecting latte's.
the woman at the breakfast area was lovely and a few times we arrived at 25 past 9 when she was clearing breakfast away as it closed at 9 she gave us the stuff back out to ensure we got what we wanted, no better person suited for that job. Breakfast buffet included fruit loop cereal, frosties cereal, toast, with butter and jam, bagels, cinnamon buns which were delightful, orange and apple juice and coffee.

Staff were really friendly if u talk to them I would say the majority of people who say they were rude probably never spoke to them, and only to complain about faults, tiki bar has some of the best staff about including LLoyd complete legend, one instance how friendly and nice they are, we seen Lloyd whilst driving down the drive to eat at Burger King, gave him a wave as we spotted him on his day off and he cut across the road to say hello and even came in and had Burger King with us! The best guy in any hotel ive ever stayed in.

Tiki bar is no where near loud as people make out it can be loud if u sleep with ur door open but once shut not a peep can be heard, more noise possibly heard from Drunken people but u get that everywhere, we were expecting the bar to be packed out but when we went there was only around max 10 people so hit bed early most nights.

Great location took us about 10 mins walk to universal sounds longer than the actual walk, the most of the walking is from the universal entrance till u actually pass through city walk! Everything is within walking distance. But the drive is quite long so be prepared to walk a bit.

Well if anyone thinks the same and u have any questions about this hotel I will be straight up and honest leave a review or drop a question and if I happen to flick through I will answer your worried questions but honestly nowhere near as bad as people make out, people don't look to write when an experience is gd but only when its bad but to my opinion most of these people who booked this must of have been looking champagne luxury at cheap rates which doesn't happen. I have a few negatives on this hotel but doesn't change my opinion of this hotel.

Defo gets a recommendation from me and my party, top class!
Coming back in 2015 as I need to save spending money, this hotel will be first on my list.

My family and I ( 2 adults 2 children aged 2 and 5) stayed here over christmas and NYE 2012-13. The hotel is quite basic but the complimentary breakfast and park shuttles made it great value. The shuttle can be a little late at times but the efficient receptionist wasted no time getting on the phone to them to get an update and convey our frustration. We have stayed in many hotels in Orlando but for the price and service it was great. The lady on the breakfasts was wonderful and very friendly, nothing too much trouble.

Room Tip: A room on the ground floor near reception was good as close to the breakfast bar and the complimenta...

This place is run down and a shame to be in America as the tourists see such a place and think it's a norm. Lobby, bathrooms dirty. Pool area, bathrooms filthy. TV, phone, shower, etc don't work properly. English speakers cannot read the breakfast room signs as they are in SPANISH! Rude bfst staff, bad food and very little of it. Coffee is watered down. Tables dirty.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere

I have stayed in most of the hotels on i drive and before now have never had a reason to complain. this is without a doubt the worst hotel i have ever stayed in, there were many of us there including small children and babies..
Our first night when we arrived we were told there was an extra tax of $5 a day per room per day, as we were staying for 22 days this was a large expense on our budget.
Our room had not been cleaned in two days and i asked the cleaning lady if she was going to be cleaning it today, she did not speak English and called the supervisor up to our room, the supervisor did not seem to realize that the cleaning lady had never entered our room and suggest we clear the room of our clothes as we were probably blocking the cleaning ladies progress, nothing in the room was in any way hindering the ability to empty the bins or change the sheets. after this we assumed the problem was sorted however we discovered if anything was left on the bed whatsoever the bed would not be made.we then discovered although the beds were being made the sheets were not being changed, my 14 month old nephew was in the room with us and one night was ill and got sick on the sheets as well as biting his lip and leaving a stain on the pillow, after the beds have been made i discovered it was still the same sheets and pillow cases. many began getting sores on our legs and arms which we first assumed were mosquitoes we then realized they were from bed bugs. one day i went down to reception and told them the sheets were not changed and i was handed clean sheets for the bed.

if you walk around barefoot on the carpets your feet become dirty very quickly, there were two babies with us on the trip who were regularly crawling on the floor both babies became sick with viral infections two weeks into the trip. one morning i stepped into the children s pool and noticed my foot was next to a large chunk of loose tile, both pools were extremely dirty and filled with cracks as well as dead bugs.

The staff are clearly used to complaints as there was a line in the reception everyday waiting for something to be done. The first day we arrived the safe was still locked, it took a day, 3 calls and a visit to reception until someone was sent to the room to open it. the majority of staff were very unhelpful as everyone seemed to having the same problems. The doors break on a daily basis and the halls are filled with people locked out of their rooms. The hotel is unsafe for children and adults, the case that holds the fire extinguisher outside of our room was empty for the entire stay, bags of cement as well as pools of water were regularly around the stairs and reception. in our room there was open wires around the air conditioner which was discovered by my small nephew. Sparks regularly erupted from the hairdryer when in use and every morning we were overrun by sugar ants. Fire doors which are meant to be locked at all times were constantly open doors around the hotel were also being held open by towels.

One day a rain storm came and many people's rooms were flooded and an extremely bad smell of damp was in the hall. a room of people we were travelling with was affected trying to get a new room was painstaking.
on the website it states that their is free coffee available in the lobby after a few days there the coffee machine was faulty and was removed. it also states on the website that luggage storage was available on our final day i went to reception to inquire as we had 5 hours from the time we checked out and when we had to leave for the airport. i was told they had no luggage storage room, when i showed them where it said this on their website they said it was a mistake but they have no control over the website and it is not theirs. we were forced to wait in the lobby with our bags.

Without a doubt this is a dirty, unsafe and horrible hotel, do not stay here the price is too high.
