This is a great hotel, right in the middle of international drive and right beside sandlake road which connects you to the I-4.
Fully recommended. Much cheaper than the embassy suites convention center on down the road.
If you're expecting Embassy Suites quality, go elsewhere! I stayed at the International Drive location for five days in September 2011 and this was by far the worst Embassy Suites I've ever encountered.
The hotel is in very poor condition - carpets are worn and torn, furniture is dated and beat up, and a number of the electrical outlets in my room did not work. The lobby is huge and noisy - no personality at all. Rooms are very noisy - noise from the adjoining rooms and lobby noise that carries thorughout the hotel.
Housekeeping is sllipshod. There were kids' hand (and face) prints on the sliding glass door when I arrived and the door was not cleaned during my entire stay. On two days of my stay I was in my room when the maid came to clean. The carpet was not vacuumed, nor was the bathroom mopped on either day. Towels were barely better than rags - threadbare and with the edges separated and hanging loose.
The breakfast was OK - nothing to brag about but it was OK. The Manager's reception was OK as well, as long as you don't expect much.
On a positive note, the staff was great - very friendly and eager to serve.
Overall, with the number of hotels in the area, I would definitely go elsewhere next time.
We stayed here for one night prior to going to Sea World the next day. Got a bargain basement rate and thought it might be a dive, but great spacious rooms, great service and full breakfast the next day. wow ... what a great value and great location. will be back
stayed here with my son and my granddaughter. l bedroom, plus living room with sofa/bed and also requested rollaway bed. plenty of room for all. housekeeping a little slow, had to at tmes get my own towels if i saw the wagon in the hall. nice pool and gym. pool - indoor/outdoor with jacuzzi.
on the strip with easy transportation...fast food city, which i hated, but the hotel had a nice complimentary breakfast and happy hour, free drinks/snacks in the evening. we were not here to go to disney so it was a great choice....
Love that it's two rooms! Our son slept on the large pullout couch in living room where there is a sink, microwave, fridge and his own tv while we slept in the bedroom with our own tv. Bathroom good size and clean with a sink then another sink and mirror just outside bathroom! Never felt crowded. Great full cooked to order breakfast each morning included with hotel and small but clean pool for when the parks close! Will stay again!
As a frequent user of 4* Embassy Suite a Niagara Falls Canada, this Embassy Suites also provides a complimentary breakfast and a manager's reception. The rooms are big (2 db rm suite), with 2 steel doors separate the living area and the bedroom. I particularly like the indoor view. The room's condition are OK except the bathroom seems needs to be re-renovate. The air-conditioner was quite noisy with the cover of air-conditioner losely screwed. I lived there for 6 nights and the service of staff are great and helpful. Compare with the Embassy in the Falls this hotel's breakfast was only average. Selections are: cereal, milk, oalmeal, fruits, potatoe strips, congee, sausage, bacan, omelet, pops, fruit drinks, tea and coffee. The pool is quite small compare to the size of the hotel. I had to purchase washing detergent with the ground floor gift shop for $2, while the machine in the laundry room (sold for $1) was broken. There is 2 mid size washer and 2 dryers. The machines were aged with 1 dryer occasionally not working. Despite the necessary of re-modelling, the environment was relaxing and the location was great and quiet. Elevators are fast, the most efficient that I had ever encountered in any hotel. It is very close to the Universal Studio and very close to a lot of restaurants and shops in International Drive. Pretty safe to walk around the street till very late of the night and you could find convenient stores, gift shops around the area. I purchased this hotel through hotwire/ expedia holiday package pricing, with complimentary parking, breakfast and wifi, this was a good deal for a family of 4 with teenage kids.
