“Great hotel for an amazing price”
Reviewed April 14, 2014 via mobile

This hotel looks exactly like the pictures. Its clean and conveniently located. The staff is bilingual so thats good for those who speak spanish. Pool is spotless. The breakfast was overcrowded so i skipped that nightmare. But overall a great find!

Arrived an hour before check-in and asked if it would be possible to check in early and they said they would charge $20. I was not happy about this but agreed since we had plans for the rest of the day. We stood there - time ticking for our early check-in - while the front desk personnel spoke Spanish to each other in front of us. (We obviously didn't speak Spanish!) We thought that was highly unprofessional. Once we finally had our room key, (20 minutes before the official check-in time), we asked for a map or directions on where our room was. The two women looked at us like we were nuts... why would we ask where I room is. One said on the backside of and the other said uhhh, I don't know. This is because they barely spoke English, awesome. To top it off, we were told we could not pull around closer to our room to unload our belongings because they were re-striping the parking lot. (Who's genius idea was it to repave the lot during peak check-in times!?) So it took us almost an hour by the time we found a luggage rack, unloaded our car and "found" our room. After complaining, I was told I would be refunded the $20 for early check-in, (it finally appeared as a credit 5 days later).

List of other issues:
- Pool and pool bar was closed the entire time we were there - (thanks for the resort fee charges for the two nights we stayed there).
- Door to our bathroom did not close - knob was coming off. Also it was evident that the bathroom door was previously gang tagged and painted over with white paint. It could be seen in the lighting. Room 330 - (So classy).
- Cleaning lady came first day and did not give us any towels - but took them all. Got back to our room to freshen up for dinner reservations and had to wait 45 minutes for towels. (Luckily we had beach towels we brought from home or we would have missed our dinner reservations!)
- Crew doing work on the hotel sign in the back of the hotel room was LOUD. Large crane was on until midnight by our room. It was so loud no one in our room could fall asleep.
- After a long day at the parks, went to go to our room and our key card would not work. My husband had to go to the front desk and wait ... and wait.... only to be told they clear the cards every night! (What hotel does that?! Makes absolutely no sense!)
- Gap in door - could see light coming into room in between the wall and door - almost like the door was too small for the opening.... someone did not measure properly and I'm not a construction genius.
I seriously felt like we were on a TV show that was playing a joke on us.... it was that bad! I don't know what the regular rate is here but you couldn't pay me to stay there again. Terrible!!

Room Tip: Request a room that is not facing the highway... or better yet - don't stay here at all!

I thoroughly enjoyed my week here. It looked just how it appeared in the pictures.

Check In
The lobby had a very modernized look. They really renovated this place and turned it into a very nice looking establishment. I was greeted with a smile by a male staff member at check in, and it was quick and easy. I received my parking pass to be placed on the dashboard.

Layout of First Building
The inside of the elevators are eye-catching. I was in room 405 overlooking the swimming pool. Beautiful view. The numbering of the rooms are a bit odd as all odd-numbered rooms face the pool and all even-numbered rooms face the parking lot.

Resort Fee
I guess it is now $8 per day. I was charged $56 for the week I was there. Resort fees are standard for the area, so no biggie here.

Room
The room was large. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Plenty of drawer space for everyone's clothing. There was an mini ironing board in the room but no iron. I guess you have to ask for that but I didn't bother. The power outlets are behind the furniture. I loved the flat screen TV hanging on the wall. It would have been good to have a list of television channels considering they had a variety of channels such as TNT,A&E,Cartoon Network, etc. The door is not hung right and you have to make sure it closes completely when you leave. The curtain made it excessively dark in the room and if opened everyone can see inside the room. The AC worked well, but when we turned on the heat, it released an overwhelming burning smell. We turned it off and just used the comforters on the bed.The mini-fridge and microwave were excellent additions. Unfortunately, you do hear everything from the halls, but it wasn't too bad during our stay.

Bathroom
Ridiculously small. The toilet handle had to be held down for the toilet to flush completely, which was a slow process. The shower has a very small basin with a flimsy shower curtain. It is impossible to take a shower without getting water all over the floor. The shower head is literally a two inches away from the ceiling, but it has good water pressure. There is no soap dish to put the soap, shampoo or any other item that's used in the shower.

WiFi
Connected quickly and easily. We used it on both laptops and the tablet.

Breakfast
It is now from 7:00-9:30. The layout of the food could be a little better. It's your standard continental breakfast. Bagels, toast, waffles breakfast burritos, yogurt, cereal, etc. It is a madhouse if you don't get there early. After the 2nd day, you're literally over it and searching for another breakfast spot.

Housekeeping
My room was cleaned and fresh towels were left daily. Every request we placed was granted within a decent time frame. Extra pillows, towels, maintenance guy to assist my son with connecting his PS3 video game.

Location, Location, Location
You can't beat it. There are so many places within walking distance. Walked to Denny's for breakfast one morning, had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes, and dinner at Red Lobster. Then walked to 7-eleven located right next door to Red Lobster for snacks. We walked to Wet 'N Wild. Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure are within walking distance as well.

I enjoyed my stay here. It fit my budget and outside of the bathroom, it is a very lovely place. If in Orlando again, I would definitely stay here again. The heated pool is waiting for me.

Room Tip: Ask for an odd numbered room facing the pool in the first building.

Luckily this hotel was redone and the rooms were very clean and had lots of space....this hotel had terrible customer service..we clearly did not speak Spanish and the front desk staff Clearly did not want to or know how to speak English. Check-in took a VERY long time, partly due to language issues, and asking about simple things like Wi-Fi was met with blank stares, and trying to explain an issue to the staff we may have well have spoken Martian.....the location of this hotel was great, and like I said the room was FAB...if you don't need to speak to an employee, you'll be fine....

Room Tip: pick away from the freeway- very loud back area of hotel was good

They charge Resort fee but nowhere you get those facilities. Shuttle doesn't run to SeaWorld n it operates only at a specific timing only once a day. No water bottle or vending machine availability at rooms , breakfast time requires extension as it gets crowded. Staff need to be more attentive n friendly

Check in was a breeze. Hotel room itself was pretty clean but the bathroom is ridiculously small. The beds were comfortable but you could only sleep if you had good neighbours. The rooms have no sound proof walls at all, they are paper thin. The maid came In our room the first day took towel and that was it. Morning breakfast trash sitting around and bed never made. The location was the best best part of the hotel. Universal is five minutes away. You have rebounds, fun spot, Dennys, and ihop just two minutes away. So I would definitely book again even with the little flaws.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 week in March, 2014.
It is well located considering you have a car (honestly, I believe that renting a car is a "must do" to enjoy Orlando).
My room was large, clear and confortable as well as the bathroom. Also, the hotel offers free parking to your car.
Breakfast is included in the diary. It is fine, but too crowded.
I totally recommend this hotel!
