For years I drove by this castle hotel on busy International drive. I always saw it as a cheesy cheap hotel, which it kind of was. Marriott has bought the property and turned it into part of their Autograph collection - a funky boutique hotel. Cool artwork & chandeliers only get me so far though, so I was relieved to find the bed to be clean & comfortable. Nice cozy spa robes were in the closet & temperature control worked well (they kept the hallways ice cold so it was always nice to run into our warm room) Both stops at the front desk (check in & out) were very friendly. Lobby & rooms are decorated very nicely. We couldn't find a single soul at the restaurant the first morning so after 5 min we left. We did order room service which ended up being pricey ($5 tray fee plus 22% gratuity made for $40 eggs
& toast) I didn't notice a gift shop, but if you fall in love with the scent when you walk in, like I did, they sell the long burning delicious candles at the front desk for $18. (My faves were
coconut lime & the acai one) We didn't use the pool but it looked beautiful. Location was convenient for us, close to I-4 and not far from Whole Foods/Starbucks/Publix (all on sand lake). Close to Universal Studios, more of a hike to Disney. Tons of dining options & drug stores right outside the hotel. We hope they keep the rates reasonable & definitely plan on returning!

I think I had the best sleep of my life at this hotel! I wish the shower was a bit more luxurious. Sadly, the showerhead wouldn't adjust. The pool area was an oasis. Great design & furniture. It was a great stay for a short trip.
