I just returned from a four night stay with my husband and two children ages 7 and 10. After reading a bunch of reviews I booked the hotel at a price of $90 per night. I have stayed on Disney's premises on at least 7 different occasions at their moderate to luxury hotels. If you can afford $300+ per night, they are usually a very fun place to stay, although the convenience to the parks depends on the hotel and the parks you are visiting.
This hotel is directly off Interstate 4's Lake Buena Vista exit. One of the four nights we had horrible traffic on that exit. We left the Magic Kingdom at around 7 pm and I think some of the other parks were closing at that time. Also, there is a Bahama Breeze and some other very popular restaurants directly off the exit ramp. We tried to get into Bahama Breeze and left due to a one hour plus wait.
I requested a room away from the elevator after reading the hotel could be a bit noisy. The person at the hotel desk blocked out a room for me in advance.
I found our room to be very quiet. My kids were making the most noise. Rooms are a good size, modern and pretty clean. Same goes for the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and overall we had a nice stay. The room has a flat screen tv and a good sized fridge. Not a mini fridge. Also includes a microwave.
The pool is small by Orlando standards but we didn't go in it. Being from Miami, we don't go swimming after September and before June so that was not a consideration.
I had read some reviews about outstanding management and the like. I had no interaction with them except for the room request and check in. Didn't find anyone to be particularily friendly. They did their job and that's it. However, we had breakfast one morning at the hotel and did have a very enthusiastic waiter who was extremely eager to give us Disney tips.
Overall, if you don't want to stay in a low-end hotel, and don't want to spend your retirement money on a week's vacation, I would recommend the Radisson. I would stay there again.
