“Disney Dolphin rocks!”
Reviewed April 16, 2014

Customer service is above and beyond: when we didn't get our daily free bottled water, Guest Services sent 4 bottles to the room, not two. The on-premise dining options are outstanding! We went to Todd English's Blue Zoo this time, and the cuisine exceeded the expectations of the foodie I was with. She also was impressed with the wine list - no easy feat since she is on the board of a winery. The pool area's ambiance is relaxing. We also had a company cocktail party at the Swan, on the patio, which was delightful. Well done!

Room Tip: Ask for a view overlooking the water/Swan.

Green Features: I took the option to get 500 Sheraton Preferred points and forego daily housekeeping.

All I can say is that this was a very disappointing stay. Hotel spends all the money on the lobby and the rooms are old and out of date. The Decor is dated and furniture is falling apart. I expected for $285 a night to have a suite that was worth it. They do have 5 pools between the Swan and Dolphin. 2 are for very young kids but the other three are for teens and adults. Food is way over priced as is everything in the hotel. You expect that staying at a Disney resort but you would also expect the rooms to be better. Overall nothing special and would not recommend staying here at all for this cost. SPG should be ashamed.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay here with us. It is regrettable to hear that your stay was more disappointing than relaxing and memorable. We sincerely apologize about the condition of your room. What you have described is certainly not our standard. We are pleased to share that there are plans for a beautiful refresh of our resort. There will be multiple enhancements made to our resort, including our guest rooms. While we await for the final design approval and project decisions to be made, it is our duty to care for and maintain our resort with its current design. We do hope that you will visit us again.

The Disney Sawn is a nice, well appointed hotel and very convenient to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The staff at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. You can take a short boat ride from the hotel to Epcot or Hollywood Studios ansd avoid the painfully slow Disney bus system. You can easily walk to Epcot. Hollywood Studios is a little further. The boat ride is nice. The only issue I had with the hotel was the "resort fee". This is a gimmick hotels employee nowadays to mislead you about their rates. In this case, the fee was $20 per day. So the hotel actually cost $20 per day more than the rate they quoted. This is a little like pickpocketing. I knew about this fee ahead of time so at least I didn't get ambushed at check in but I still don't like this subterfuge.

If you take the boat to Epcot, you can save a couple of stops by getting off at Boardwalk and walking the rest of the way. It's a short walk.

Thank you for your recent visit with us Bill. Thank you for the helpful tips that you have provided here on TripAdvisor about walking to Disney’s EPCOT and Hollywood Studios from our resort. We sincerely apologize for providing a feeling of “pickpocketing” about our Resort Service Package, for this is not our goal. We do monitor current pricing and practices in the marketplace to ensure we are in line with other comparable resorts. It would be our pleasure to welcome you back at any time.

Stayed at the Dolphin Apr 5-13, 2014. The location is perfect. Its not a 'true' disney hotel resort, though, so don't expect the 'magic' that you get from those. But, for the price it can't be beat. If you look closely, the hotel is a little worn, but the decor is updated and nice, lobby, restaurants, etc, are all top notch. Its basically a nice sheraton hotel in the middle of disney world. Walking distance to Epcot is the key benefit.

If I had the extra money, I'd chose to stay next door at the Yacht club (my favorite.) But, for over $100 a night less, the Dolphin was a great value.

Room Tip: First floor rooms have patio's overlooking the lake.

This past weekend was my third stay at the swan and dolphin in the last few years. Once was for business, the other two for vacations. Our stays at the Swan and Dolphin are always pleasant ones. The service and staff are always so accommodating and helpful. I always enjoy the soft plush westin heavenly beds! I was in the Dolphin West tower this time, and had a lovely view over the lake, pools and the tower of terror in the distance. I always enjoy how easy it is to get to Epcot and the boardwalk from the Swan and Dolphin. The grotto pool was nice, although the water was a little chilly, which was surprising in April. Plenty of lounge chairs, excellent service. Remember to bring your room key to get beach towels at the towel stand, they won't give you towels without your room key.

The latest stay was in the Dolphin, and I have to say, the Dolphin seems like it has not received the refreshed rooms like the Swan has. The bathroom configurations are tiny and seem inefficient. The finishes seem worn and dated. I love the hotel, but it seems the Dolphin in particular needs to be renovated.

Room Tip: 7th floor West tower has good views of the tower of terror.

Just checked in for a work conference. Good experience at check in, rooms are nice and clean. I have never stayed at the resort before. Opening night of the conference was a huge beach party! I was blown away! My team and I picked a table right next to two bars by the beach.....the bartenders, JC and Jim did not miss a beat! They were fast and fun! We were amazed at the swiftness of service with such a line and the smiles and being called by name! Amazing! The food servers were not lagging either. I am excited to see how the rest of the conference plays out! Great job in filling high expectations! Kudos
