We visited Dec 6-11th and had a great time. Our site was a preferred site in the 1400 loop, which was right in the center of the campground, but not "close" to anything. My one bit of advice would be to rent a golf cart, you will need it if you want to get around without using the internal bus system. Although Disney transportation is very efficient it's kind of a stinker having to take a bus to get to a bus! The campground itself is large and spread out, with two trading posts that had basic groceries and souveniers, there is take-out pizza that is good and the Trail's End restaurant which has a great buffet. Our 4 yr old son loved the pony rides and petting farm. We had 7 days there and could have spent a few more just in the campground. It was a wonderful experience and we will definetly go again.

We made an error by not making a reservation, we were told on the phone that our expected arrival is not a busy time and there would be vacancies. When we arrived we were greeted by a not so "nice" person who said "no reservation, turn around and leave" we asked to be able to park and go check and we're told no. Having driven 1500 miles was a little unnerving but we found a great KOA close by and called and got spots for the next night. All in all it was terrific - a lesson learned - but we would go back in a heart beat, we had our 8 year old granddaughter and our dog with us and it couldn't of worked out better. When we did return the folks were fabulous! We will be back, without question. Yes camping is expensive, but when you live an RV lifestyle - that's the way it goes! What's the price of happiness with your grandchildren?? WHO CARES! We had more problems with the "old" kid (grampa) than the young one - a little pokey!!

It was extremely expensive and did not enjoy the stay at all. I would never go back. There is not one positive thing to say.

We have been coming to Disney World for years with our children. This year we brought our first grandchild along with our grown children. He had a ball & we thoroughly enjoyed watching him. It brought back many memories of our boys when they were little. What a wonderful place to bring families. Everything is clean, fascinating, and fun. Everyone is helpful and considerate and wanting to make your vacation the best it can be. We will continue to come to Disney World as long as we are able & bring future grandchildren . Thanks Disney.

The only place I'll stay, in or around Disney property. I've been to Disney World 15x in my 24yrs. When I was little I had no choice, but now that I do, it's still the only place I'll my stay. Level, paved sites, with trees all around to give some privacy. Comfort stations with hot water (and plenty of it), clean shower and toilet stalls, and laundry rooms. Jungle gyms, pools, a lake, pony rides, horseback trail rides, a petting zoo, Chip and Dale's sing-a-long, nightly movie, hay rides, a breakfast buffet, carry-out for pizzas. Boat or bus transportation to parks or other resorts. It's got everything you need to pull in, park, and enjoy. My husband and I were there last summer, his first time, for Disney's "Salute to the Troops" for armed forces. He loved the parks and the ease of going from park to campground and back again. I've always had a magical time here-- the only thing I recommend is plan on spending a few days within the campground itself there is so much to do. We can't wait to go back in November '05.

It may be expensive, but it is soooo worth it. there are so many activities, a pizza restaurant, (it is good :)) and the ride of the boat to the magic kingdom was beautiful. I have never stayed anywhere like this.

We arrived at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds on 7/31/04 for a 6 night stay in the cabins. The cabins are absolutley wonderful; they are roomy, nicely decorated, and very very clean. They receive the same housekeeping as a regular hotel room. Everyday, our cabin was completley cleaned, even the grill out on the deck. It's nice having a place to relax and watch a little TV without sitting on your bed, such as in a traditional room. It's also great having a full equiped kitchen to cook. I mean, you have to eat some meals at Disney World, but being able to eat breakfast before you head out to the parks is great. We also used the grill daily, and this can really help you food budget. The golf carts that so many reccommend, not necessary. The buses are very efficient. To get to the main transfer stations, we never waited longer that 5 or 6 minutes. So paying $50 a day for cart to get you to the transfer stations is a little high. Sometimes you have to wait for a bus or ferry to get to the parks, but you would anyway, since you can't take the carts there. Anyway, we really enjoyed our visit to Fort Wilderness Resort and will most likely stay there again on our next trip to Disney World.
