The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort

We stayed at the campgrounds in our RV. The site was clean and we were close to the comfort station and the bus stop. We did not rent a golf cart and just used the buses or our feet. This might have been a problem if we had small children, but since I'm the youngest (24), it wasn't an issue. The campground is beautiful and clean, definitely meets Disney standards.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness! We did rent a golf cart from an offsite company and I really think that was a KEY aspect to our enjoyment. If you don't have a golf cart, you will be relying on internal buses, so you are talking a "transfer" to go to a park, thus two bus rides, or a bus then a boat ride to MK. Or even taking a bus to the pool, etc. because the property is huge. The pool is one of the only locations you can drive your car, but parking is very limited.

The cabins had free wi-fi that was fast and reliable. The pool is great. There is a wonderful kids area for those under 48 inches with a spray ground, small slide and even low chairs for parents to sit in while watching your kids. There is a large slide for adults and bigger kids, or very brave little ones (no height restriction).

The boat to the Magic Kingdom is great. I prefer it to the monorail actually!

The cabins are not cheap, but what is at Disney? At least you get a full kitchen for the price!

Room Tip: Cabin Loop 2100 is very close to a bus stop and the closest to the pool.

We recently stayed in one of the cabins in the Fort Wilderness Resort and it was great!! It was roomy enough where the entire family wasn't on top of each other. It comfortably slept 5 adults and 2 kids. The housekeeping staff was amazing and friendly and did a great job each day. The pool was nice and refreshing and the bus/boat transportation to the parks was extremely convenient. Never had to wait more than 10 min for the boat and never more than 5 for a bus. Would definitely go again!

Room Tip: We got a cabin in the 2400 block which had easy access to the swimming hole, laundry and also easy b...

Nice location and Ambiance. Highly Reccommended
PostedSeptember 6, 2013
Just stayed there for 5 days. The resort location is perfect, just a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom. Keep in mind this resort is BIG. But they have internal transportation to go to the front desk (Outpost), Swimming Pool (Meadows trading center) and to the Marina (where you will get the boat to Magic Kingdom). Transportation is very good, never waited for more than 10 mins for the bus. But the timing may vary in peak season and the buses can be crowded too in peak season. There are Golf Cart available for rent, which will make your commute inside the resort a breeze. The golf cart rental is $60 per day (Expensive..... but its Disney).
They have Movies, Dance shows and Mickeys Bar-be-que inside the resort so plenty of things to get your kids entertained. So in all it was pleasant stay.

If your looking for a cool' fun place to camp and what appeared to be safe from most of Floridas wildlife that you do not wont to run into while camping with small children than Disney's camp fort wilderness is the place. Its the coolest place I have ever camped ' we pitched our own tent and the location was fabulous and it was very clean and very friendly staff' overall but if you won't to get around 'and don't have bikes of your own than they have golf carts to rent and bikes u can rent as well its a must at the campground ' there's no other way to get to places because there's no parking anywhere for a car or access for cars besides at your campsite. Book in advance is also a must ' there practically always sold out of campsites and golf carts too' we were put on waiting list the whole time ' so make sure you book way in advance ' like 6 to 12 months if possible ' for both golf cart and campsites too! That's the only think I have to say I am very frustrated with is it never shows availability for us to be able to book a tent campsite' for any dates we have looked at this year' we traveled there labor fat weekend and have waned to go back for another short weekend because we live in Tampa and I still haven't seen any available.... Be sure to book way in advance..... Chad

We are not campers in the usual sense of the word but we loved the cabins at Fort Wilderness. We went years ago with our children and a few months ago we took our grandchildren. The cabins are a great experience, 4 bunkbeds, a double bed and a Murphy bed which the kids thought was really cool.
We rented a golf cart for a day and it was definitely the best way to get around. The launch area is great for traveling to other places like the Magic Kingdom, Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary. We had never taken the kids to Chef Mickey and we were lucky enough to get a table by just walking up. We loved the Hoop de Doo Revue and the wagon ride in the evening where we were able to see how creative campers can be. We will definitely do this again soon!

We went on our first rv trip to Walt Disney world and had a blast! The accommodations for the rv were easy to figure out and the landscaping was great. It kept the area very private like you were out in the middle of no where. We had shuttle pickup to take us to the parks and it was a breeze getting to and from. Kids loved it!
