Husband and I came down to Universal to visit family. Stayed at Best Western Plus. Very satisfied with rate, cleanliness and staff.Within a 5 minute car ride to Universal. Breakfast area was kept very clean and good selection. There are also several restaurants within walking distance.
We have an opportunity to attend a yearly conference in Orlando. We thought we would try the Best Western and we were not disappointed. We like the idea of a frig, microwave, and coffee pot in the room. We were in room 311 which is in the back and overlooks a grassy plot of land with no activity. The staff was pleasant, room was clean, roomy, and comfortable. A 32" flat screen TV and free wifi added to our comfort.
Interesting bed pillows--there's plenty of them, but they seem to be 3/4 the size of a regular bed pillow. The AC was a little loud, but I wear earplugs anyway.
It is not a "plush" hotel, but I can truthfully say we did not want for anything. Good water pressure, water hot. The place was quiet too.
We will definitely go there again next year.
Conveniently located to many affordable restaurants (Miller's Orlando Ale House), and Walgreen's Pharmacy.
Nice size outdoor pool, very small fitness center.
Rooms were clean. Larger size mini refrigerator in the room (which didn't get as cold as I would like) and microwave. Beds were comfortable. Safe available in each room. The air conditioner in the room seemed to have two modes: arctic blast or off--which left the room warm and muggy. There was a fairly large selection at breakfast and the area was clean and neat. It's in a convenient location. Several restaurants and a Walgreens in the same parking lot.
The shuttle to Universal leaves twice in the morning and picks up at a certain time in the afternoon. We drove to have the flexibility to leave when we wanted. We did take a cab at night to citywalk, which was about $5. Next time we will take a cab to universal and not worry about parking.
Our only issue with our stay was there seemed to be two rooms on our floor (first floor) which seemed to have two women "working" during the day. We did let management know after we left and received an email apology.
Bottom line: We would stay again for the same price ($95/night).
We had to stay for one night in Orlando and choose for the BW Universal Inn. The location was good (central, close to Universal) and the price was right (less than 90 dollars incl. tax). Check in was very friendly, but the room was just OK. Little worn down and not very clean (dust and spots). There was al large TV (we couldn't get it operate because of the dufficult remote control) and a large safe. WiFi is free, but signal was extremely poor. There was full complementary breakfast, the usual fare. Next time in Orlando, we will chose another hotel.
We are very satisfied with the room size, comfortable beds and cleanness. The location is about 10 to 15 min. walk to Universal Studios which was perfect. Near this BW there was a restaurant that the kids love called the Golden Coral with it's chocolate fountain and cotton candy. There is also a pharmacy next to the restaurant which came in handy.
I would totally stay at this hotel again. The room was nicely modernly decorated. It was very clean and we enjoyed our stay. Its close to anything you want to do in Orlando and a couple nice places to eat right across the parking lot.
