A cut above most chain restaurants in ambience and design, but the open hall does make it a little noisy when full, which it was when we visited. Service started off well, with the chef visiting the table to deal with my nut allergy. Food was mixed, the eggplant parmigiana was a bit "slimy", compared to the steak which great. However service fell at that point when one of the sides was a no show until two thirds of the way through the meal

Large portions, on the pricey as a treat scale

Maggiano's has a wonderful dish called Chef KB's Lobster Carbonara. It has a very healthy portion of lobster, smoked bacon, snap peas and pasta (I substitute angel hair for the spaghetti) in a creamy sauce. It is fantastic. The Gnocchi & Italian Sausage is also fantastic and almost melts in your mouth. Service was prompt and attentive - she anticipated our needs and addressed them quickly. We found out during the meal that the classic pastas have a secret - if you purchase one in the restaurant, you can take a second home for free! We're going to try that special next time.

Lovely restaurant with wonderful food. Be wary of portion sizes; pasta fishes are vast (just under a pound of pasta!) but other dishes like lasagne are relatively small by comparison and left my husband feeling hungry still. Freshly baked bread and ice cold water are plentiful and the desserts in particular the cheesecake is divine! Not the cheapest place but certainly one of the nicest. The only thing to let this down was the waiter on our 3rd visit - not up to the same standard as previously encountered and started clearing away everyone's plates even though I hadn't finished. A big no no in my book!! Overall definitely worthy of a visit.

Almost fine dining as the food is fantastic...can highly recommend the Lobster Carbonara...service was a little on the rapido Diner side of things...my dining companions had their main course plates removed as I was half way thro mine (a pet hate)..and we're given a dessert menu..loved our servers sincere references to the non use of microwaves and his strong recommendations to add black pepper to our pasta..who'd have thought?!...all in all..it's not the place for a relaxed, lengthy, romantic din dins...but if its all about the food..GO! It's brilliant!*
