Not quite the shopping experience that I had expected from Universal. I was surprised that we had to pay to enter the shopping area - a parking fee. This was because the shopping area is adjacent to the two theme parks - similar to Disneyland/California Adventures/MarketPlace.
The stores were not that different from those in the local malls. Even some of the merchandise was the same. There were a couple nice restaurants: Margaritaville, Bubba Gumps, and Nascar among others. We stopped in a few of the stores and walked around until our feet hurt, then we stopped by the river area and found some shade. The seating was hard wooden chairs and tables, nothing that would invite you to kick up your feet and rest.
We didn't spend nearly as much time or money here as we have done in the Disney MarketPlace. It is just a venue to get you to the parks, not a true destination area.
