“Universal can do better”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

City Walk is fun, for a typical beige American Suburb. But for a Universal Studios creation and a shopping/entertainment district in Orlando it is seriously wanting.

There's nothing organically unique here. All of the restaurants, shops and entertainment venues are typical mainstream chains that litter every suburb. A few good restaurants like Wolfgang Puck and Hard Rock are intertwined with crap like Johnny Rockets, KFC, Taco Bell, etc. I mean, WTF? A few cool west cast establishments like Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Pink's Hot Dogs were welcome sights and probably unique to east coast vacationers but the entire CityWalk is nothing you wont find in a pretty bland mall in Ohio. Shops are totally mainstream schlock (Hot Topic, Game Stop, Lids).

This whole thing is a disaster and needs to be entirely reworked in order to provide tourists with a thoroughly unique experience - not just an outdoors rehash of the crap they meander thru in the malls back home. That Universal Studios attaches its name to this Property is a sad tableau regarding Ronnie Meyer's apathy. Once one of the most dynamic forces in Hollywood, he seems to just be biding his time as CEO, trying not to make waves, take chances or make a peep so he can continue his run as the longest serving chief of a studio. But Ronnie, man, com on, you can't possibly want CityWalk to be your legacy.

“I wished I had time to stay for the night life”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

I was at Loews Royal Pacific for a business trip and decided to venture out of the hotel....I am glad I did! the walk to CITYWALK was very pleasant, but they do offer a water taxi that was very nice. probably one of the cleanest boats I have seen, polished in every aspect. Citywalk was fun! it was free and lots to do. they had a DJ you could sit and listen to, restaurants like BUBBA GUMP & EMERILS, little bars to get a drink. I saw that there would be night life that was reasonable to get into but we did not have time to stay. maybe next time I enjoyed it.

“No very thrilling”
Reviewed June 5, 2013 via mobile

Universal doesn't really seem to do a very good job of marketing their characters. There was surprisingly little in the way of character themed items available, would never go just to eat or see a movie bc you have to park in the same area as everyone going into the park. I'll stick to Disney thanks.
