“Fantastic Hotel”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Our family of four stayed in a 2 bed apartment at this hotel in July/Aug this year. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay from start to finish. It was great having the 2 bedrooms, as our 2 children could go to bed and we could have some time to ourselves and likewise in the morning, they could get up and watch tv etc without disturbing us. Having the washer and dryer in the room was great to.
It was lovely coming home from the parks on a few of our evenings and being able to cool off in the pool before bed, the kids loved doing this, and the pool was never really busy in the evenings. We had a couple of days over the two weeks stay where we just stayed by the pool, and the kids loved joining in the games that were layed on at the weekends. Another great thing about staying here was that it was only about 20 mins away from Disney and to Universal by car and Seaworld and Discovery Cove right on the doorstep.
I noticed from other peoples reviews that not having the rooms cleaned thoroughly every day seemed to be a problem, but we didn't spend an awful lot of time in our rooms, so it wasn't really dirty, but our beds were made and towels changed every day, which was great. Then because we were the for 2 weeks, our rooms was cleaned after the first week.

If we had to point out one ing it would be that the restaurant is a it limited and a bit on the small side, but it doesn't take away from the fantastic holiday we had, and are hoping to go back again next year.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in block A or B with a Pool view.

Dear Tricia O -- I appreciate your nice review of your stay with us. You really identified all the great benefits of a holiday with us -- even the washer/dryer! You have the exact right perspective on the daily "trash 'n tidy" service we offer. Normally works out just fine for most people. But, after that first week, it's great to get the full clean, included. Yes, the Palm Cafe is somewhat small, but it's a great option for those who don't care to cook all the meals in their room, but can grab something quickly, to eat there, in their suite, or by the pool. Just to clarify your tip for others, only Building B will give you a Pool View. Building A is close, but you will have a hard time seeing the pool from most suites in Building A. And remember, we're always happy to take building location requests, and note them on the reservations, but we can't guarantee them. I can't wait to see you back with us soon.

The Floridays was recommended by a friend when she found out we were taking a vacation to Florida. I checked their website, and then checked Trip Advisor for ratings. We stayed in the "off season" so we got a fabulous rate (if you're an AARP member, there is an additional discount). Our view from the balcony was of a man made pond and fountain. There were turtles in the pond which I would look for in the evening after we returned to the room. The room was wonderful - and it was so nice to come back to in the evening and have the option of fixing something to eat while sacked out on the sofa instead of in a crowded restaurant. They provide everything you need. Kitchen is fully stocked (even a blender and a mixer), Keurig coffee maker (so you don't have to drink that nasty hotel room coffee that tastes like the soles of your shoes), full set of dishes, pots and pans, mixing bowls, glasses, cups, and utensils. The staff was unbelievably polite and full of true southern hospitality. We always got the feeling that we were the most important guest they had in the resort. They arranged shuttle buses to the attractions - and we rode the "Red Line" into town several times. There is a full supermarket less than a mile from the resort, where we went to stock up on a few things. They do provide you with limited coffee pods, washing machine powder and dishwasher soap, but refills are on your dime. We did not eat in the Floriday's cafe, but I understand from listening to others that the food was good. There is a washer and dryer in the unit, which meant we traveled with only carry on suitcases and still had clean clothes every day. They even had an iron and an ironing board, as I am not particularly fond of that "suitcase creased" look.

The pools were really nice. There is a small, but complete work out room, with all the latest equipment near the lobby of the hotel. There is also a game room if you are traveling with children. Wi-Fi is provided for free - although sometimes the signal was a little weak.

The maids made the beds, emptied the trash and replaced the dirty towels every day. I'm sure if we had needed something else with housekeeping, they would have happily accommodated that request as well, but, we didn't require anything additional.

The concierge and the front desk staff were amazing. They were there to answer questions, help us with our plans, and made the whole stay very pleasant!

Also, it was somewhat of a surprise to me how quiet the rooms were. They must have spent a little extra on soundproofing materials. We had people above us, below us, and on either side - and only heard some very excited children above us on one night of our stay.

I was sad to leave after a week. The stay was delightful - and a real feeling of home away from home. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone - whether you have children with you or not. Our children are grown, so it was just the two of us.

I looked forward to our stay at Floridays after reading all the great reviews on TripAdvisor and was overall disappointed with our actual stay. The rooms were just as spacious as everyone says and the pool area was great for the kids (we have two under 4), but other than that the hotel wasn't up to the standards of other places we've stayed. Typically, we stay at suite hotels, so we have room for comparison. Cleanliness, service, and noise control were not on the same level as the larger chains.

When I made the reservation, I requested a pack-n-play for my infant and upon check-in, I asked the front desk to confirm that a pack-n-play would be in the room. They seemed surprised by my request, but said that they would also make sure a high chair was brought up for the baby. After two hours, it was getting close to dinner time and we hadn't seen either the pack-n-play or the high chair, so I called back to the front desk to ask about it again. They seemed surprised that it wasn't there and said one would be there shortly. Within about 20 minutes, a high chair was brought, but the pack-n-play was still not there. I called again after another hour and the staff again seemed surprised that they hadn't brought the pack-n-play. Within 20 minutes, we got two pack-n-plays, but the quality of them was awful... they were stained, ripped, and in terrible disrepair, but at this point, we had to make do since it was bedtime for the little one. If you do go, you should bring your own so that your young one can sleep well.

Maid service for towel replacement and garbage removal was supposed to have been offered daily. During our one week stay, we were only given maid service four times and each time, they came very late in the day (3 to 4 pm). I don't understand what the issue was, however, since the resort was only crowded the first few days of our stay and after that, it was not full at all. I complained to the front desk about this twice and they offered to come by at 6 pm to take care of the cleaning, but with two little ones, this was not a reasonable timeframe as we were trying to get the kids to bed. Overall, the room had dust accumulated on all of the silk plants, chairs, and in corners of carpeted areas where it was obvious that the furniture was never moved to vacuum.

The noise at the hotel was horrible at night. We stayed in Building C, which faces a parking lot between three buildings. People were constantly in the parking lot outside making noise and yelling (acting drunk) into the wee hours of the morning. It never seemed as though anyone from the hotel was taking note of this problem and telling people to quiet down. It was tough on a family with young ones who got scared by the yelling at all hours of the night.

Overall, the "resort" offers spacious rooms and has a good pool, but don't expect a stay that is beyond a one- or two-star hotel. Luckily, we didn't pay a whole lot for the stay, but you can do better for that price. If you want to stay at a chain suite for about the same price, you'll sacrifice room size, but you'll gain service, cleanliness, and quiet, whiich are worth more than a few dollars saved for me.

Dear HappyMommy78 -- Thank you for your frank review and we're pleased that you liked our suites and pool area. However, we apologize for falling short on some other key areas of your stay. We're sorry for your situation with the pack 'n play and high chair. You should not have had to call multiple times to take care of this simple task. And, of course, the condition of the pack 'n play when it arrived does not meet our quality standards, and you should have received one in better condition. We've notified our Director of Housekeeping, to check further as to why you didn't receive consistent service or proper cleaning of your suite. We apologize for that experience. As you saw from the other reviews, your experience is not typical (or acceptable) for our guests, and we're taking steps with our internal departments to ensure it doesn't happen to any of our other guests. We sincerely hope you will give us another chance, on your next visit to Orlando, to make up for our missteps on your visit. Please don't hesitate to contact me directly, if there is anything I can do to help with a future visit to us.

After thoroughly researching places to stay I am pleased to say that we made the right choice with Floridays. The location is excellent - the i-ride and Lynx bus stops are right out the front, a Publix supermarket is within a 10 minute walk and the Premium Outlets not much further. We didn't hire a car but with the free shuttles to both Disney and Universal, and a couple of trips on the Lynx bus to Florida Mall and Mall at Millenia we managed just fine.
The rooms were spacious and had everything you could need, the beds were comfortable and it was great having a washer and dryer. The in-room safe played up once but maintenance was extremely quick to respond and fixed it without a drama.
All the staff were friendly and helpful, and after arriving on a late flight (we arrived at Floridays at about 3am) we were checked in very quickly and with no fuss.
The pool was great with towels supplied and the bar right by the pool, we also had a few meals from the cafe and although they were very busy and the meals took a while to be prepared, everything that we tried was delicious.
We were extremely happy with our stay at Floridays and would recommend it to others.

Dear JulieKG2012 -- Thanks much for taking the time to review your stay with us. You are a great example of how well our guests can do without driving, using our existing and public transportation. And you saved money at the same time. Sorry about the challenge with your safe, but happy that we were able to fix it quickly. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we look forward to seeing you again very soon.

Don't understand the fuss or ratings given to Floridays. Stayed for 6 nights in June, family of 5 in 3 bed apartment furthest building from main pool. View from balcony was of the car park and maintenance building of adjoining property. There is not much room in kitchen/living area (the area where you all spend time together) for moving around Furnishings worn and dated. Housekeeping generally arrived late afternoon when we had returned from parks and it was not convenient. After reading the reviews we were disappointed. Staff were friendly and shuttle(used it once) was punctual. Cafe convenient but expensive. Both pools well maintained. This was our 10th visit to Orlando and first time we have been unhappy with the accommodation. We expect a higher spec, with the choice and quality of accommodation available in the area this was our first and last visit to Floridays.

Dear borgoval -- Thank you for leaving a review. But we're sorry the experience was not what you were expecting. You'll be pleased to know that, over the next couple months, we'll be completing a renovation, which will replace anything that you may have seen that appeared worn. We apologize that Housekeeping didn't clean your room at a convenient time. We'll review the schedules, and work to improve the timing. For the future, we are happy to try to accommodate specific room cleaning times, upon request, so it fits better with our guests’ schedules. We're sorry to hear that you don't plan to visit us again. I'd like to personally extend an invitation to return and give us another chance to experience our resort and services, to deliver a better vacation experience for you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly, if there is anything I can assist with.

This was our first visit to Floriday’s. Our room was perfect, clean, well laid out.
Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. To add to all of this “best vacation ever” feeling, imagine our surprise when on the weekend evening, sitting on our balcony we hear live entertainment!
We were enjoying the music so much we decided we had to go see who was singing.
It was so nice to meet and hear Rick Allen, the talented person performing.
What a very nice surprise and wonderful addition to our evening! Rick asked us to let him know if we had song requests, and talked to us between his sets. His performance is perfect for all ages.
Floriday’s is a very nice resort, and Rick Allen is very definitely an asset to the resort.
Listening to Rick made an already very nice evening….perfect!
We have recommended Floriday’s to others, always mentioning that not only is it a great resort, but with the addition of live entertainment…it’s a total WONDERFUL vacation experience.
Thank you Floriday’s, and thank YOU Rick Allen.
We look forward to coming back to Floriday’s soon, AND are looking forward to another
pleasant evening listening to Rick’s performance.
Sincerely, Victoria and Ron N.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be laid out to give good views. The resort is quiet and well maintained.

This was our first time to this resort. There were 7 of us in one room. There was more than enough space and the amenities served our purposes very well. The pool area was excellent for our three grandchildren, ages 2, 5 and 6. We would definitely come back!
