don't get me wrong, this is a fun night out but your wallet is going to take a big hit even once you have your tickets for the night which can get expensive to start with. The soft drinks are free and refillable and I suggest everyone stays on soft drinks!! When I went a beer was $15 for the first drink (where you also receive a themed tankard) thereafter it was $7.50 per drink. A ridiculous price for beer!!
When you finally get seated for the show you are split into 4 sections and you have 1 of 4 pirates allocated to you by colour. The gist of the show is rescuing a princess and you become part of the show cheering 'your pirate' to claim the princess. the acting is akin to US style wrestling and at times is quite funny. Lots of camp sword fighting and swinging from the rigging goes on all night.
The food is satisfactory, thats the only way to describe it. Quite edible really but there is only one person serving a hell of alot of people and if your at the wrong end your food is no better than lukewarm and the portions just about would satisfy an 8yr old, large they are not.
Another hit on your wallet is the service charge (tip) that they suggest for the guy serving your lukewarm baby portions. They want you to tip per person upwards of $5 per person. I always thought a tip was for good service but you dont get that here so I was reluctant to leave anything but they hover around looking for it which makes you feel very uneasy.
They do put on a good show for the youngsters and they even get to be picked to go onto the pirate ship which does look very good all things considered. They do fleece the adults something terrible and im sure there are better night time shows but if monies no object then give this a go.
