“Very nice property, not for us, though”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

I rated LBVR "very good" because it really was. However, it just wasn't the right pick for our family with teenagers. If they had been five years younger, would have been right up our alley, though.

Check-in was busy, and our unit wasn't quite ready, but the front desk staff was very gracious and apologetic. I thought under the circumstances, they were extremely efficient and I have no complaints about waiting 30 minutes for a clean condo.

Our unit was clean and adequate. The master bath area was HUGE, and I actually would have traded about half that space to have more dining area, but there was a nice dining table that could seat eight comfortably. The kitchen was fine, but not the utensils/baking supplies that I prefer. Plenty of plates, cups, etc, just nothing like a casserole dish or anything like that. Full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher and stack washer/dryer in the unit, which I really, really liked.

Our balcony overlooked the pool with the pirate's ship, which was cute. The pool was large, clean and heated (pretty cold when we were there), and the water slide on the pirate ship was surprisingly fun! I went on it many times, actually, and really enjoyed it. Have to be 4 feet tall, which is pretty normal. Zero entry area with little fountains, LOTS of sun chairs, and towels provided poolside. Bonus.

The pool bar was great, fun staff. We didn't eat other than the girls got soft pretzels, but they were super, so I can only assume the rest of the food was good. Because you actually CAN mess up a soft pretzel, believe it or not. We are generally beer drinkers, but had a Bahama Mama or two there, and they were YUMMMMMM-MEEEEEE.

They had kids activities/crafts at a little tiki hut by the pool, things like painting little birdhouses, etc., for a small fee, like $3, and it looked like the kids were enjoying it.

We didn't have any issues that needed tended to to speak of. However, when we were unloading to go up to the unit, there were no luggage trollies. Ugh. So as I was taking things out of the car, a staff member drove by on a golf cart and asked if I needed a trolly, and of course I said yes. About three minutes later, here he comes pulling two luggage trollies. I just really appreciate things like that, and he was super friendly in the process.

I would highly recommend this resort, although we won't be back here because we're not big Disney people, and our family is just in a different phase kid-wise. Very convenient to the parks, too, and you can see fireworks every night if your balcony faces north or northwest. :)

Room Tip: You can ask for a fireworks view, or a Pirate Ship view. Both are great.

Having visited Disney before we knew the area and chose Lake Buena Resort because of it's location. Accommodation was very spacious and had all the necessary equipment needed for our stay. The only thing i would say is that some of the furniture looked a little worn, especially the chairs & sofa. We chose not to have extra cleaning and managed perfectly well, towels washed and dried, no need to pay! The two pools were well used, even on a rainy day! They were warm, clean and proved a great place to relax after a long day in the them parks. The shopping outlet net door as very well received by the wife and many bargains were to be had!! We had a fantastic time and will definitely be returning soon.

Room Tip: Blocks 1 & 2 are nearer the smaller, quieter pool

We stayed here as a family of 4 over Xmas and the new year. Both the wife and I kept an eye on the reviews on here for several months before we flew. We were originally booked in elsewhere and changed to LBV for easiness of the parks.
We both noticed a lot of moaning about carpets and not having flat screen tv's etc, yes the carpet in the hallway is a little worn but that is down to the fact that a lot of people stay here. We had a flat screen tv in every room. We didn't pay for the servicing as it doesn't take much to chuck your rubbish down a chute. We drove to the parks everyday...piece of cake.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at LBV, it was
Literally somewhere to lay our heads after spending all day at the parks. I would whole heartedly recommend this location.

We knew that going to Orlando and doing the main parks was always going to be a hard slog and wanted a central location to base our activity from, that's exactly what you get with Lake Buena Vista.
The apart hotel is an excellent location which is no more than 20 mins from all the main parks, clean and tidy with some good local amenities.
One drawback is the times the so called free shuttles go to the parks, we knew the parks would be packed yet the shuttles were still due to go from the hotel at 9:45 - no good if you want to get lots done first thing.
All in all the facility was as expected, the pool area and bar are good albeit at some steep prices for drinks but to be honest that's what you should expect in the US - average bottle of beer is around $7 to $8 and a rum punch $11.
The rooms are very spacious and fully equipped, but don't expect to get your towels and bed linen changed unless you pay for it! This price for this is $30 but you can change the towels for $5. We chose to use the washing machine provided and gave them a wash.
If I was going again I would push the boat out a little more and go for a Disney hotel as the additional benefits outweigh the costs that include: magic hours (park entrance just for Disney guests), easier and more frequent transport to the parks via, boat, mini bus or coach.
The other thing to say about Lake Buena Vista is the local facility charge? $10.50 a day!
This is added to your bill at the hotel so make sure your aware of it, this is why I say that the free shuttles aren't free used or not.
All of this said the location and facilities were good and we were able to do a little cooking for a few meals, as Walmart is only 5 mins away in a car.
The holiday was great and the hotel didn't let us down

Room Tip: The views over the pool are about the best - make sure you don't get a room near the waste tube...

We had a 3 bedroom suite with full kitchen, washer and dryer: big savings on eating in.
Do not count on transportation to Disney: shuttle once a day, inconvenient timing. Great if you are driving: under 20 minutes to all parks (Disney, Universal, Seaworld), plenty of parking.
Used and loved the pool (heated) and in-suite jacuzzi. Since we never used it before, I did not realize that there is a drain to compensate for all of those streams, with a lot of negative pressure in it, even well covered. So supervise closely your children if they use it, or better get in as well.
The maid service is not included, it costs between 10 and 50 $ for tuch-up or complete cleaning, we just washed our staff instead.
If you are interested in shopping, outlets are literally nexdoor, but we did not have time.
Overall, the property is well maintained, reasonably soundproof. Staff are very polite and helpful. Check-in, check-out quick. You can get all the park tickets from Expedia representative at the main building.
We booked through Expedia a room that was marked as "Fireworks view". So without any requests we were in building 5 at the 7th floor. You can not see the fireworks really, they are quite very far. I am also afraid of hights, and was often worried about my children at the balcony. It is very safe, but later I thought I should had simply asked to remove the table and chairs from the balcony.
That was our 3rd time in Orlando, we will definitely come back, and stay at Lake Buena Vista again.

Room Tip: building 5, close to main pool, newest

Our family of 6 stayed at this hotel from the 31st August - 15th September.
Because of the age range (21-75) there were a lot of different expectations needing to be met from this hotel; a few being size, comfort and location.
Having stayed only in villas in orlando prior to this trip we were concerned about feeling on top of each other in the hotel condo.

We arrived at reception to be greeted by friendly and welcoming staff who were more than keen to give us any information we required.
We were given a firework facing condo on the top floor of building 5 which was huge! It was full of everything you could possibly need - it was home from home.
There were a couple of trivial problems with the condo including the balcony door not locking, light bulbs not working and not having a safe door but within 30 minutes of mentioning it they were fixed - top notch service!

Later in the holiday, I had an incident where I needed medical attention, instantly staff at reception were concerned and arranged transport for me as it was late at night and when I returned back to the property staff were well wishing me, something they done out of their 'job description' but really made me feel like a valued guest.

On-site amenities were good, the shop was similar in price to convenient stores but a little more than a supermarket but you don't do a full shop in a convenient store, it's only there for bits and bobs.
The Irish pub was a great atmosphere and the good was lovely! Was nice to wind down after a long day in the park and if you didn't want to cook in the condo.
The location of the hotel was superb, the farthest park being a 20 minute drive away.

In conclusion, some previous reviews do not do this hotel justice, but we certainly found no faults with the hotel nor the hotel staff.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family, and we ourselves plan to be back as it was a great place to stay!
Thank you for a lovely home-base for our family holiday.

Overall I would say that the experience at the resort was a good one. There were a few issues with check in because we were there a little bit early and they had to scramble to find our requested rooms. We went and got some lunch at the Pizza Hut on the property( the cook there was very mean but the manager was nice) and then got into our rooms. We paid for them to take our towels and our trash each day. This was a 5 dollar charge each day. They did not come unless we requested them. We ended up getting a refund for this. We were told where the trash chute was so we took care of it ourselves and got plenty of towels from housekeeping when they were in the hallways.

The resort property was clean, the pool area was great with a pirate ship slide. They have a bar in the pool area that was nice. There is an Irish pub in the property as well and they had great food. We had a Thanksgiving dinner and some fun at the arcade next door. The outlets shops on the property were a nice break from the parks. The distance to the Disney parks was a great perk to this resort. Overall we liked the experience with a few bumps in the road.

Room Tip: The three bedroom suites are located at the end of the hall. The fireworks suites can view the parks...
