Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa

Reviewed August 1, 2013

We stayed here for 6 nights in June this year (2013) in a 'fireworks display' 2 bedroom apartment.& entirely satisfied (we regard ourselves as pretty fussy). Very quiet and clean throughout, beds extremely comfortable, got great sleeps, location excellent (we picked up car at Orlando airport and no problem (we'd a sat nav & had also done 'our homework' though!...). Very easy drive to Disney, International Drive etc. Big Walmarts close by. Complex adjoins a fairly large shopping outlet centre, a nice short walk (5 mins) if your feet are not too tired! This was the 1st of 10 hotels we stayed in on a driving holiday up into the Southern States, & probably the best. Only minor 'niggle' - Reception staff were "just OK" when we arrived (quite late) & clearly no interest in us or our journey etc. No explanation re immediate area (eg that there was a Walmarts only 5mins away etc)

Room Tip: Our room was dead quiet even though you could see the Motorways - the patio doors stopped any sound...

Not perfect but had a good time. The room and furniture did seem a little dated but was clean.

Except that is, the cleaning crew must not look under the beds when they clean. One bed had a tennis ball beneath it. The other bed had a Darth Vader pez dispenser.

My 9-year old son and I spent most of our free time in the Pirate Ship Pool. Nice slide on the ship.

Next time I won't waste my room choice on a fireworks room. Not sure where the fireworks were. Never seen any during my stay.

We chose to stay at this property because it boasted "fireworks view rooms". Ordered online and received confirmation email clearly stating we had a "fireworks suite confirmed" When we arrived the room was beautiful and spacious, but no view of fireworks. The front desk was very flip and claimed "there are only a few of those available. Read the fine print" so I went back to my confirmation email. No fine print. Our kids were very disappointed as they had already planned a pajama fireworks party. This property also charges you extra for housekeeping. It isn't included with the cost of your room! We registered for a towel exchange when we checked in. Nobody ever showed up. When we asked about it, they claimed we weren't registered...not a big deal, but a silly mistake for such a large facility to make. The pool facility was very nice. Beds were comfortable and rooms were quiet. My daughter brought me a container of half eaten fruit loops left in the nightstand....facility was a bit farther from disney then expected. Took long to get to downtown disney. Sat in traffic.

Stayed 14 Nights July 2013, and the good reviews on here were justified. Two adults and two late teen boys, so effectively 4 adults in 2 bed suite in building 5 with pool view.

It's not brand new and there was the odd minor sign of wear and tear but it was very clean and everything we needed worked perfectly (aircon, dishwasher, room safe, washer/drier cooker/wifi). Both bedrooms and living area had TVs.

The suites are spacious, the boys had a room with twin doubles and separate bathroom and we had a bedroom with ensuite, spa bath and walk in shower. The spa bath was great.

The on site pub/restaurant was decent value for a sit down meal. and the service was excellent. We did order a pizza for collection from the on site pizza hut while having a drink in the bar and it was ready bang on time when we returned. On site shop is pricey as you would expect but there is a walmart 2 minutes down the road if you need to do a grocery shop. Parks are easily reached from here, and while the 535 suffered from heavy traffic late afternoon/early evening it actually moved a bit more quickly than you think.

We've stayed in cheaper hotel rooms in LBV before and I have to say the additional room we got with this suite was worth the extra.

We're not demanding guests and only had to speak to the desk once regarding a keycard during the whole fortnight, like I said everything just worked, but staff were always cheerful, wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.

We have recently stayed at the LBV resort village and spa for 16 nights. This is our 2nd stay at this resort and having stayed here we would not stay anywhere else in Orlando. On previous visits, when our children were younger we have stayed in standard hotels on I Drive and Kissimmee, where you have 1 room with 2 beds, but the LBV resort offers so much more space and privacy now the children are older. We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite in Block 3. It doesn't really matter which block you are in as all facilities are easily accessible. The suites are a little dated but very clean. There is a fully equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer, dish washer, cooker, coffee pot, kettle, cutlery and utensils etc plus a washer/dryer. There is a safe in the suite, which is free to use. There is also free wifi and hairdryers/irons/ironing boards and TVs in each room. There are plenty of bath/face towels available plus initial complementary supplies of washing powder, loo roll, washing up liquid, soap, shampoo etc. Everything is supplied to get you through the first day or so to allow you to stock up. There is an on site shop which is well stocked but many items do not have prices visible so its not until you reach the till that you find they are very expensive. There is a Wallmart less than 5 minutes drive along the road if you have a car but I would not recommended you walk to this store as its on a busy road with no footpaths. This store is massive and has everything you need are we often popped in on our way home to stock up. There are 2 pools, the large pirate pool and then a smaller pool. Both pools are lovely and separate towels are provided poolside. They can get busy at times. There is lots of parking around the hotel including indoor parking. Again, can get busy later in the evening but you can always find somewhere to park. The gym is basic but useable. There is a large shopping outlet next door (2 minute walk) but its not as good as the Premier Outlets or the Florida Mall. Other than the onsite pub there are no restaurants within walking distance. I wouldn't say this is the best location if you don't have a car but if you have transport you are only about 10 minutes drive from the restaurants in Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista and I Drive.(we recommend Olive Garden, Uno Grill, TGI, Wood Grill Buffet, CICI pizza and sweet tomatoes!) The drive to Disney/Epcot/SeaWorld is about 15 minutes and about 20/25 minutes to the Universal resort. The hotel is around 30 minutes from the Airport. The staff are friendly and generally helpful although we had a lengthy check-in due to the fact they accommodated our party of 9 in 2 different suites on different floors which wasn't practical. We also had to approach reception a few times as the door key cards locked out and needed resetting. These were minor issues and didn't spoil our stay. Would happily recommend this resort to anyone thinking of travelling to Orlando.

I went to spend the week in florida on vacation with family the last week of June. The Hotel was "ok" at best. what I found disappointing was upon checking into my room, although the beds where made and it seemed to be wiped down and had fresh towels, I noticed there was trash in the trash can and crumbs on the floor from someone who had been eating, normally I wouldn't pay much attention to this but those things had seemed so simple to cure and fairly obvious to see. My stance is if you don't take the time to empty the trash and vacuum crumbs off the floor then what else did you skip? I called to bring it to their attention and although they WERE NOT rude about it the way they responded was as if I was being too picky and I was an inconvience to them. I am NOT a picky person but this was blatantly obvious. After being on the road so many hours ( had had driven to our destination) of course I wanted a shower and although there were towels, there were no wash clothes. Again no big deal I can understand overlooking that, so I just called down to the front desk to ask for some. I don't know the process, however I did everything I needed to do without wash clothes because it was taking too long to get them to me. on a good note the place is set up very well and the staff for the most part were friendly and the location was perfect to access whatever I wanted.

My family and I stayed here for 2 weeks in July, in a 3 bedroom apartment, 4th floor of building 5. This apartment complex is situated in Lake Buena Vista, about 10minutes drive from Disney. It has everything that a family needs for a holiday in Orlando. Reception staff were always friendly and phoned our room frequently to check if we were enjoying our stay, and if we had any issues with the room. The only slight gripe I have is that we reported a wasps nest attached to one of our bedroom windows, and told it would be rectified right away, but no one appeared, and the wasps nest was still there when we left a week later.
The pool was amazing, and great place to hang out and enjoy with kids. The pool bar was often busy, but we didnt drink here much due to the expensive prices of drinks.
The complex is right across the road from decent factory outlets, therefore walk-able, which was great for shopping as there is about 45 various shops including a massive Nike outlet. Irish bar/restaurant onsite was OK, but wouldnt shout about the food. Service was always great though. The pizza hut express onsite was OK too, but the service there was variable. Its always easier to go and collect the order than ask for it to be delivered as there is usually only one or two members of staff working, so delivery times were typically 2 hours wait.
Parking was never an issue at the complex, and we had a disabled badge, which there were plenty disabled bays. There are a couple of ATMs onsite, which are convenient when needing cash, however, after using it once, avoided it due to the higher fees of withdrawing cash.
Universal and Seaworld are around 25minute drive from the complex. Busch Gardens is about 1hr 15mins drive. Walmart is less than 5minute drive, and excellent for stocking up on supplies for the room.
Over-all this complex is excellent value when visiting Orlando with family and would happily stay here again. DEFINITELY hire a car as you need one to get about, and also take a sat-nav!

Room Tip: Email hotel in advance and request fireworks view room in building 5
