Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa
Ranked #93 of 342 Hotels in Orlando
Reviewed July 29, 2013

We have recently stayed at the LBV resort village and spa for 16 nights. This is our 2nd stay at this resort and having stayed here we would not stay anywhere else in Orlando. On previous visits, when our children were younger we have stayed in standard hotels on I Drive and Kissimmee, where you have 1 room with 2 beds, but the LBV resort offers so much more space and privacy now the children are older. We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite in Block 3. It doesn't really matter which block you are in as all facilities are easily accessible. The suites are a little dated but very clean. There is a fully equipped kitchen with large fridge/freezer, dish washer, cooker, coffee pot, kettle, cutlery and utensils etc plus a washer/dryer. There is a safe in the suite, which is free to use. There is also free wifi and hairdryers/irons/ironing boards and TVs in each room. There are plenty of bath/face towels available plus initial complementary supplies of washing powder, loo roll, washing up liquid, soap, shampoo etc. Everything is supplied to get you through the first day or so to allow you to stock up. There is an on site shop which is well stocked but many items do not have prices visible so its not until you reach the till that you find they are very expensive. There is a Wallmart less than 5 minutes drive along the road if you have a car but I would not recommended you walk to this store as its on a busy road with no footpaths. This store is massive and has everything you need are we often popped in on our way home to stock up. There are 2 pools, the large pirate pool and then a smaller pool. Both pools are lovely and separate towels are provided poolside. They can get busy at times. There is lots of parking around the hotel including indoor parking. Again, can get busy later in the evening but you can always find somewhere to park. The gym is basic but useable. There is a large shopping outlet next door (2 minute walk) but its not as good as the Premier Outlets or the Florida Mall. Other than the onsite pub there are no restaurants within walking distance. I wouldn't say this is the best location if you don't have a car but if you have transport you are only about 10 minutes drive from the restaurants in Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista and I Drive.(we recommend Olive Garden, Uno Grill, TGI, Wood Grill Buffet, CICI pizza and sweet tomatoes!) The drive to Disney/Epcot/SeaWorld is about 15 minutes and about 20/25 minutes to the Universal resort. The hotel is around 30 minutes from the Airport. The staff are friendly and generally helpful although we had a lengthy check-in due to the fact they accommodated our party of 9 in 2 different suites on different floors which wasn't practical. We also had to approach reception a few times as the door key cards locked out and needed resetting. These were minor issues and didn't spoil our stay. Would happily recommend this resort to anyone thinking of travelling to Orlando.

I went to spend the week in florida on vacation with family the last week of June. The Hotel was "ok" at best. what I found disappointing was upon checking into my room, although the beds where made and it seemed to be wiped down and had fresh towels, I noticed there was trash in the trash can and crumbs on the floor from someone who had been eating, normally I wouldn't pay much attention to this but those things had seemed so simple to cure and fairly obvious to see. My stance is if you don't take the time to empty the trash and vacuum crumbs off the floor then what else did you skip? I called to bring it to their attention and although they WERE NOT rude about it the way they responded was as if I was being too picky and I was an inconvience to them. I am NOT a picky person but this was blatantly obvious. After being on the road so many hours ( had had driven to our destination) of course I wanted a shower and although there were towels, there were no wash clothes. Again no big deal I can understand overlooking that, so I just called down to the front desk to ask for some. I don't know the process, however I did everything I needed to do without wash clothes because it was taking too long to get them to me. on a good note the place is set up very well and the staff for the most part were friendly and the location was perfect to access whatever I wanted.

My family and I stayed here for 2 weeks in July, in a 3 bedroom apartment, 4th floor of building 5. This apartment complex is situated in Lake Buena Vista, about 10minutes drive from Disney. It has everything that a family needs for a holiday in Orlando. Reception staff were always friendly and phoned our room frequently to check if we were enjoying our stay, and if we had any issues with the room. The only slight gripe I have is that we reported a wasps nest attached to one of our bedroom windows, and told it would be rectified right away, but no one appeared, and the wasps nest was still there when we left a week later.
The pool was amazing, and great place to hang out and enjoy with kids. The pool bar was often busy, but we didnt drink here much due to the expensive prices of drinks.
The complex is right across the road from decent factory outlets, therefore walk-able, which was great for shopping as there is about 45 various shops including a massive Nike outlet. Irish bar/restaurant onsite was OK, but wouldnt shout about the food. Service was always great though. The pizza hut express onsite was OK too, but the service there was variable. Its always easier to go and collect the order than ask for it to be delivered as there is usually only one or two members of staff working, so delivery times were typically 2 hours wait.
Parking was never an issue at the complex, and we had a disabled badge, which there were plenty disabled bays. There are a couple of ATMs onsite, which are convenient when needing cash, however, after using it once, avoided it due to the higher fees of withdrawing cash.
Universal and Seaworld are around 25minute drive from the complex. Busch Gardens is about 1hr 15mins drive. Walmart is less than 5minute drive, and excellent for stocking up on supplies for the room.
Over-all this complex is excellent value when visiting Orlando with family and would happily stay here again. DEFINITELY hire a car as you need one to get about, and also take a sat-nav!

Room Tip: Email hotel in advance and request fireworks view room in building 5

Don't be put off by the location here - these apartments are perfectly positioned for all the main attractions. We were in Block 2, which is away from the main pool area - but given the pool is open til 10pm each night, we were quite glad of a quieter location and parking problems that other people have mentioned wasn't an issue here.
Yes, the furniture was a little tired, but was certainly all very clean - although public areas such as corridors weren't - I stepped on a child's milk tooth (!) one day, which I had actually seen on a couple of occasions in the corridor over the course of a week but hadn't inspected it closely) - and the apartment kitchen was spotless. Lots of crockery and utensils - take a tea towel though! The washing machine and dryer were new and very welcome.
We only used the pool a couple of times - loungers get filled up quickly - but it seemed clean and our daughter very much enjoyed the slide.
The small onsite supermarket is pricey, but friendly and good for emergency rations - and Pizza Hut takeaway - while Frankie Farrells did decent food with good service. We used the Publix up on International Drive for food shopping. The outlet mall next door is very good for discounted Nike, Converse, Gap etc.
You can buy Disney tickets at the front desk, but these are a little more expensive than at the parks, for the convenience, and there is a free shuttle from the hotel. I didn't get the legendary front desk service that other people have mentioned - the lady who checked us in couldn't even crack a smile.
Overall, this was a great base to use if you want more space than a hotel room offers, but the convenience of a pool and some onsite food so you don't have to cook every night.

Room Tip: Ask for Block Two or One if you want to be away from the main pool (there is a little, quiet pool be...

Stayed here for 9 nights. Car parking can be a challenge but not impossible. Stayed in building 5 and you can park on road easily. Apartment large, clean and in good condition. Overlooked the pool,if I had one criticism ,it would be the booking of sun beds and then people not using them! Pool area clean and child friendly. Busy at weekends. Would stay again. Close to larks and reasonably good restaurants ,Walmart just down the road.

We have stayed here several times . The room has alway been very clean and comfortable . . Building #5 is our favorite mainly because my wifes disabiliy & the walk to the pool is shorter from there. If you like a Spicy marguretta the bartenders make the best .I would recommend LBVRV&S to everyone .
