Overall great experience. Sand beach large pool, fire pits everywhere. Soft bed lots of pillows. Screened in portch. Jacuzzi tub in master bedroom. On sight bar and grill. Nice place. My family and I had a great visit. The staff is overly nice. Could have skipped Disney and played at the resort.

I've come back here for the first time in 5 years and the improvements are staggering. The rooms have all be been refurbished and look modern and beaufiful. All rooms have free wifi and improved entertainment facilities.

Thepools have also improved. The bog pool at the newer side of the development is rocking, whilst the smaller original pool is much more chilled.

The staff are excellent. Just avoid the timeshare salespeople. Politely tell them no and get on with your day.

The location is brilliant for all the parks and the itrolly stops right on your doorstep. I will be back.

We stayed at The Fountains Resort for two weeks at the start of August through an RCI exchange. Having contacted the hotel prior to our visit asking for a room overlooking Lake Eve we were delighted to be given the recently renovated Building 3, with a higher room on the 4th floor. On arrival we couldn't believe how big the apartment was. We had one kingsize and one double bedroom, both ensuite (the master one was huge), a lovely modern kitchen, a substantial living area and best of all, two beautiful balconies overlooking the lake.

The hotel was situated nicely on South International Drive, with Sea World, Aquatica, TGI Fridays, Buffalo Wild Wings, Outback Steakhouse, McDonalds etc. all within a five minute bus journey. Publix superstore was a ten minute walk, although there were roadworks going on at the time which made the route a little tricky. Both the Lynx (local bus) and I-Ride trolley bus stops were situated right outside the hotel, which was incredibly handy. Stop 39 - take note!

Unfortunately we only got to use the pool area two or three times as we were so busy visiting theme parks and eating out on International Drive, but it was beautiful, with music playing, a nice pool bar and plenty going on for children. The smaller pool was nearer our room but we preferred the large one as there was more space and a bit more happening. We rented a swan pedalo boat on Lake Eve ($10 for an hour) which was a nice way to get a tan and relax.

The Clubhouse is situated in between buildings 3 and 4 and serves breakfast items such as crossaints, cereal bars and orange juice, as well as having a fully stocked bar/restaurant and a children's arcade. There was also a gym downstairs but we were too busy/lazy to use it.

So why four stars and not five? We were kept waiting an awful long time when we arrived (after a 14 hour flight) in the queue to check-in. There were only two people behind reception, while another four or five sat at the activities/customer service desks twiddling their thumbs. Each person that checked in ahead of us got a full rundown of the hotel's amenities and facilities, while we all stood there desperate to just check in and get to our rooms. I'm sure the reception staff are told to do this, but it was completely unnecessary and those in the queue were getting rather frustrated. The leaflet's they handed out had all of this information on anyway.

We also met a lady from London (the only other English person we saw there!) who had changed rooms due to finding two cockroaches in her apartment. Now I'd like to point out that we had absolutely no problem with this. We did see a few near the main road one night, but there's not a lot the hotel staff can do about that. She also showed us her room which seemed a lot more neglected than ours and definitely needed a touch up.

Personally though, our experience (apart from an irritating check-in) was fantastic and we would most definitely come back. I would just like to thank Kristen King for all her help prior to our visit. We didn't get to meet her in person but she did a great job of allocating us the perfect room and we really appreciate it!

Chris.

Room Tip: Buildings 3 and 4 overlook Lake Eve. We were in Building 3 and our room was beautiful. Ask for a ren...

great apartment block. we had a two bed with nice rooms and a small balcony. facilities were fine maybe a bit of updating like some ipod docking radios and a few more channels on tv. facilities onsite were good - restaurants as normal at these kind of resorts food not bad at all. rented a cabana by the main pool that was worth the money considering how hot it was!! had some issues with wi-fi that were fixed when i called main desk. Lots of bbq areas which are easy to use and cleaned every day. All in all a good experience.

Having stayed before, I expected nothing less than the best. The biggest surprise was they now offer free wifi in your rooms, instead of at the clubhouse only. Imagine how thrilled my teens were with that awesome change! The condo's were updated as well, we stayed in a 2 bedroom unit, new tile flooring, updated kitchens and awesome showers. Couldn't have asked for a better view of the lake and the paddle boats. We sat on the balcony and listened to the frogs croak every night. The pools are awesome, although I would recommend the two bars in the clubhouse over bar at the big outside pool. They make them in bulk and it wasn't good at all. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

Hi travel family, we stayed Fountains at the for a week in June.1st I had asked for a updated unit (and since i am an owner, i thought i would get one), my bad ,i didn't. Once at our door to unit ,we couldn't enter, went back to the front deck and told the folks at the front-desk that there was an issue with the key cards. Took about 30-40 mins. to get some-one to get us into unit ,was told
some-one else would fix lock the next day. Took the family out the following day to enjoy Florida, came back and still could not get into unit(again), went back again( to front-deck) and was told that some-one be there( again) to repair. Finally, we get some-one who did fix the lock. We did enjoy ourselves, and still love the FOUNTAINS.

My family and I vacationed in Florida last July into August. I'd like to say first and foremost that I'm a pretty relaxed traveler. We do like to eat out and enjoy a plush location but I also have learned that there is a lot to be said for cleanliness and space. The Fountains had both! We were able to spread out in our place and really made use of our screened deck off the living room. We spent multiple days by the pool and took too many turns to count down the slide. It was perfect for my, then, five year old. It was her first water slide and she had no fear since the water was shallow at the end and her dad could stand there and catch her! I can't tell you how many laughs we had and how spoiled I felt here. The staff were all welcoming as well. They had events taking place many days we were there and my kids participated in many of them, hula hooping contest, stuffed animal making, and games! It truly was the best vacation we've ever taken with our three kids (we went to Disney too for 4 days with days of rest between).

*Now the couple of minor negatives: The coffee spot was TOO far away! It was quite a walk to indulge in a specialty espresso beverage, but with the calories one of those bad boys pack, I guess the walk was fine! I really would have loved for the restaurant there to have more options for food as well as healthier and more quality choices. This is a minor detail as there were oodles of places to eat nearby. However, I would have loved a fresh salad with chicken or a veggie platter instead of fries and greasy sandwiches without having to prepare it back in my room.

All in all, The Fountains was the solid home base for our Disney excursions. Everything was accessible, there was little traffic and we felt relaxed and welcome here. Finally, when we packed up and left we left a bunch of clothes in the dryer. They had someone get them and meet us outside to return our laundered clothes, which they had folded, back to us!!!!

We're already dreaming of our next trip!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: I can only speak to our experience. My mother allowed us to use her timeshare.
