Bluegreen Fountains Resort
Ranked #131 of 340 Hotels in Orlando
Reviewed February 7, 2008

My husband and I are currently staying at the Oasis section of the Fountains Resort. The Oasis sections can only be in Building 3 or 4, and is near the pool and clubhouse. But, don't let the pool area scare you away. The noise from the pool is not heard. In addition, the Resort is under major renovation, and they are constructing a beautiful new pool as well, which is going to be behind Building 5. I don't know when it will be completed. If you can stay in either Building 3 or 4, jump at the chance! The rooms are spacious and airy. While I don't think the rooms have a very modern decor, it is very comfortable.

If you like peace and quiet, then this Resort can be a problem if you are not staying in Building 3 or 4. You will hear construction noise behind or to the side of certain buildings. Since it didn't affect my stay, I am not sure how much of a nuisuance it can be.

Pros: great location
Cons: under renovation

The Fountains was a nice place, but was not exceptional. It was much better than any hotel, but I can imagine other timeshares being able to do a better job. Our trip was recent, Jan. 16-20, 2008.

The Fountains is a growing resort. This has its pros & cons. They provide a letter in your room explaining this fact. Their construction doesn't start before 7, but adjacent property construction (was to far from or rooms in building 6) sometimes does. The resort entry is under construction. It can be hard to find sometimes just for the fact it can change daily and does not have a very visible permanent sign. Most buildings are 7 stories high. Suites consist of 2 plus rooms and I believe have a really good layout for noise, comfort, etc. This doesn't mean noise isn't a factor. Our family had two suites next to each other and could not hear loud noises from the other suite, but we could hear loud kids from above and below quite well. In the building we were in the Master bedrooms had another source of noise from suites on other wing of our building and another building (7) across the pond. A couple per room can go to morning presentation for $150 towards park tickets. Only supposed to be -2 hours, but ours took +3.

Pros:
Location - located between Sea World and Disney parks. Stores and restaurants are plentiful within 1-2 mile drive.
Clean - Rooms aren't cleaned daily, but they came quite clean.
Room Amenities - TV/cable in all rooms, washer/dryer, iron/board, safe, kitchen had rags/soap, dish washer, blender, coffee maker, pots and pan, dishes, etc.
Large Pool & hot tubs - Pool is partial indoor (rectangle w/volleyball area including net) and winding outdoor. Depth between 3.5 to 5.5 ft and Heated. Kiddie pool about a foot deep and plenty big enough for many children. 2 Jacuzzis pool side. Outdoor Jacuzzi is surrounded by vegetation giving it a private feel.

Cons:
Noise - It can be a factor, you also might get lucky.
Construction - Noise, area closures.
Sheets - bottom not fitted, if you expect lots of "messy" sleeping bring your own. Otherwise you probably won't notice them.
Pool side bar often closed (never open during our stay).

Other notables:
Internet connections - In room DSL (cat5): $10 a day, $21 for 3 days, $35 a week. I hooked up my personal wireless router to it with little difficulty. Free wireless in clubhouse and poolside. 2 public computers in clubhouse.
Activities - Plenty of them, but nothing really special. 2 people at bingo, no participants at pool scuba ($15/$25).
Parking - by permit only and sometimes can be a ways away.

In conclusion, it's a nice place for a family vacation, but go somewhere else for your honeymoon. If what your looking for is a quality family vacation resort it's a good to excellent value.

we stayed in the fountains 5th jan 2008. Had a fab time would definetely stay there again close to all amenities and not far from the parks. the appartment was very clean, well equiped with everything you could need. One thing is the sheets don't fit the beds tidy. but the staff are very friendly and are prepared to help you with any quieries you may have.

There are lots of places to eat and are very cheap and good choices. Very easy to drive over there not as bad as in the uk. no roundabouts that one good thing.

The pool was a godsent my family went in it everyday heated well clean towels and a great sauna and jazzui must try if you go. We are looking to book for 2009. well worth it.

My family and I stayed at the Fountains during the week of Christmas. The full kitchen had all of the cooking utensils we needed to cook our Christmas dinner including plates, glasses, etc. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. There was also a closed in balcony w/ceiling fan which we ate our breakfast and used to just relax.

We spent time at the indoor/outdoor swimming pool and my husband and son also went catch and release fishing on the pier. There are amenities available for all ages.

We would definitely come back to the Fountains for future vacations.

Our stay at the Fountains was fantastic. You can't beat the location. It was 5 minutes from Sea World, 10 minutes from Disney and Universal.

We did have an initial complaint with the front desk. I asked for a rom with a view of the lake. The person said "Yes, you have a view of water." We were in building 6 and had a view of pond scum!!! The Lagoon is under construction and the water level seems to be down because of the water park being built at the front entrance. I counted around 75 new palm trees planted around the lagoon. Had the front desk said something like, "Our lake view rooms are all booked and when our construction is completed the lagoon wil be very nice. Were sorry for you rinconvienence" I could have lived with that. I said something to a manager two days late and she found us a room with lake view due to a cancellation. Our new room was very scenic and on the far side from the construction.

Housekeeping was friendly as was the rest of the Fountains staff. Since we are Blugreen Owners we did the owner udate for $100 in Disney Bucks. See: bluegreen@yahoogroups.com for a full discusion on this issue.

All in all, this was a wonderful trip at an excellent facility but ask for a lake view!!!!!

Booked a two week family holiday at the Fountains resort. After a transatlantic plane flight with the usual airport hassles the last thing we wanted to hear was that ,"You cancelled your reservation". However upon our arrival at the Fountains, that is what we were informed by reception staff. This of course was totally unfounded and staff apportioned the blame to someone who happened to be unavailable and then on some middle booking company. After we verified that our debit card had been debited we were provided with one nights accomodation. Our request to be facilitated for the previously booked period was not met and we had to move to other accomodation, the following day. What we did note in the little time we did spend at the fountains was that the apartment was spacious ,however the patio area had a mosquito net and the security man threatened to have our hire car towed as we were not displaying the correct pass.

We recently spent two nights at the Fountains in Orlando as part of a promotion for Bluegreen resorts. I seriously just wanted a couple days of rest and relaxation. Unfortunately they put us in a lovely room, but next to the construction that is going on and they start early in the a.m. Also, the beds were not comfortable (to us at least) and did not sleep well either night. (They really need to invest in sheets that fit the bed). And the carpet was wet (recently cleaned - poor first impression).

The pool that was there is very nice (partly outdoors and partly indoors) - and adequately heated. No complaints there. They advertised a bar by the pool that also served food - but it was closed - my guess was because there were not many people there the week after Thanksgiving. It does seem to be very family friendly.
