At Disney, if you've been to one breakfast buffet you've been to them all. Just average but at least it was a character diner. Those are always nice. Now I've had some better than average buffets but you'll need to look at my other ratings.

The Clambake Buffet at the Cape May Cafe restaurant in the Beach Club Resort is different from the more typical buffets at WDW for its focus on seafood. In addition to a roast beef carving station, barbeque chicken, and prepared salads, the clambake adds littleneck clams, crab legs, baked fish, and other seafood items.

I am writing to particularly note a few STANDOUT items on this buffet.

The clam chowder was rich and thick, remarkably flavorful and LOADED with clams. It was akin to clam chowder "stew" and was phenomenally delicious.

The breaded and fried calamari was the most tender and delicious squid I have ever eaten- and I never miss a chance to eat it. The combination of the texture of the calamari and the flavor added by the light breading was truly amazing. I strongly recommend that you SKIP the marinara sauce provided with it, because it is so remarkably good on its own.

The peel and eat shrimp were HUGE and tasty, easily peeled and perfectly cooked. Lots of buffets offer peel and eat shrimp, but these were standout for size, texture and flavor.

Other offerings including an assortment of desserts were good, but I was compelled to write about the three items above as they were so impressive.

I hadn't been to Cape May in about 12 years and have been trying to get back. The different seafood that I had was done very well and the desserts are top notch. I also had a few cuts of Prime Rib and it was done just perfectly. I found that my picky daughter really likes crab legs, which was a surprise. I was very happy with the whole experience.

The only down side is the same as all Disney buffets. My 10 year old is a Dinsey Adult, which means she is full price. That's kind of steep for 2 pieces of pizza, 2 helpings of crab legs and a couple desserts.

Such a great place to eat. Good selection was plentiful, everything was delicious, service was okay.
I recommend eating here with a small or large group.

Service was excellent. Food was good, and omelette station would be an added bonus - otherwise great! Takes a while before the characters make their way around though.
