First of all, I believe that Characters are only present for breakfast and lunch.

We did the character breakfast and frankly, if you've waited in line for an hour in the parks to get an autograph, characters breakfasts are priceless!! 4-5 autographs and photos while you eat breakfast.

All that being said, it was a pretty darn good buffet. There was a great selection of foods to satisfy both mom & dad and the kids. The waiter brings out whatever you like as far as beverages and then it's off to the buffet. A nice selection of eggs in a couple of different styles, breakfast meats, hash browns, cheese grits, hash, waffles, cereals, fruits, etc... only the most discerning diner would walk out of there without having found something they liked.

The characters were great, five characters made the trip at least once around the restaurant during about an hour period. They all were very gracious and stopped for both autographs and photos with the family.

We will definitely be back!

We eat here every time we come to Disney World. The breakfast is awesome!!! My 2 year old LOVES Disney Jr and the characters really go out if there way to make sure the children have fun. Jake is my sons favorite and he loved getting to dance and "hangout" with Jake.

We used the Disney app to search for character meals for our dinner at Hollywood Studios. The app highlighted Hollywood & Vine as a character dining experience. Upon seating we did not notice any characters. We asked our waitress and she curtly indicated that no characters were present at dinner, only breakfast and lunch.

Three issues here:
1. The search function of the app is not accurate, as we selected: character dining, dinner and Hollywood Studios.

2. The staff was not empathetic or helpful as our tearful children stood by clutching their autograph books.

3. The food was so unimpressive that I wouldn't go back even if there were characters. Easily the worst Disney buffet we have experienced in our five most recent trips.

This trip to Disney was lacking all the "magic" of previous trips. It was as if staff didn't even care.

We did Character dining [lunch time] here with Disney Juniors characters. My kids love Jake the Pirate so, for us, it's worth to be there for our kids' experience. We trade our table service to this character dining. The waiting wasn't bad. The restaurant was cramped inside, in term of tables. But it's not that bad. Food and desserts were very great and we liked our server. She's wonderful. A plus was the tables were closed to the buffet area so we didn't have to walk far. Their salmon and Spanish pork were yummy, as well as lobster macandcheese. The only buffet place in WDW, where I found the ice-cream. So my kids went crazy over it. They had much fun meet and greet, as well as sing along and dance, with Jake The Pirate, Bob The Builder, Special Agent Orzo, and a girl, which I forgot her name. They entertained the kids very well and wouldn't mind to spend extra time at each table. It's one of our favorite restaurant.

We ate here recently as part of the Fantasmic Dinner Package. Over the years, we've eaten at most of the theme park buffets in the Orlando area, and I must say, this is probably the best of the bunch. All the foods we tried were flavorful - not the bland fare you usually encounter. Yes, the meal was pricey, but that comes with the territory at theme parks. However, if you want a quality buffet at Hollywood Studios, this is the place to go.

The down side, however, was the reservation process. We made our dinner reservation on the Disney web site the day before we went - we were only offered one time - 3:50pm. We were disappointed, but figured all of the later times were already taken. When we arrived, however, we saw most of the restaurant was empty. We figured it would fill up quickly. It didn't. When we left, it was more empty than when we arrived. It's a mystery as to why Disney wouldn't let us make a later reservation.
