“Wyndham Bonnet Creek Orlando - very nice place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2010

We purchased at Wyndham Bonnet Creek 6 years ago and this was our first time staying at this specific resort (we have used our points to stay at other locations like Mexico). Since this is Wyndham time share's 'home' location, we were expecting an A+ experience. Check-in was good, however, none of the amenities was explained to us, which was disappointing. We were referred to another counter to get our parking pass, which was actually just an attempt to get us to go to an 'owner update'. We had a 2-bedroom suite located on the ground floor next to the door to enter building 4 looking out onto the parking lot. We couldn't open our curtains unless we wanted everyone entering the building to be looking at us. Very disappointing. I called the front desk and after some pleading, we were able to move to a different room on the 8th floor. This room was on the lake side and had a wonderful view! I was impressed with their ability to move us even though it was spring break and they were very full. It was a bit cold while we were there, however, our kids swam in the pool and used the lazy river. The pool areas are great...and the outside bar was nice. The walk-ways aroung the lake are nice to get some exercise, but it would be nice to have it go directly across the lake to the other side where the volleyball court and mini golf areas are. Overall, this location is very nice and I would recommend it for sure! By the way, the 'owner update' is a sales pitch to get you to upgrade your Wyndham membership, which we knew going into it, but we got $75 cash for attending a presentation that we cut off at a little over an hour.

I am an owner at this resort and have stayed with kids (7-12 yrs) 4 times in the past couple of yrs. This resort is magnificent. It is spacious well kept and CLEAN. The pools are awesome and the grounds are immaculate. I love that it is within the Disney gate but not Disney owned-themed. You get a chance to get away from it all and still be close. If you ask you can get a room with a view of the fireworks from very nearby EPCOT. This is awesome.

Now for the not so good. The hard sell on timeshares. They are relentless. Unless you have nothing else to do it may not be worth the $50-75 in cash or dinner coupons. A promise of a 45 min meeting will be two hrs minimum. Lack of amenities for young teens. The game room tends to get swamped with loud teens. I don't mind so much, but there seems to be less to do for this age group. The food onsite at the resturants is very good. Even the bar food is pretty good, but it is PRICEY for the portions that you get.

Overall this is the best place that I have stayed in Kissimmee/Orlando are by far.

We are Wyndham owners at Bonnet Creek, and this was our first visit to the property. It is definitely top notch, and we have stayed in many Fairfield/Wyndham resorts. The property is beautiful, well maintained, and clean. We were there for my spring break week (I'm a teacher) and while the weather could have been a bit more cooperative, the resort itself was great.

The resort features 3 pool complexes with lazy rivers or water slides at each. Our 1 bedroom unit looked directly down at a pool/lazy river, and a pool side restaurant/bar. The music came on each morning at about 9, and was on till about 10 p.m., with ground level speakers all around the area. It didn't bother us in the slightest (we were on the 7th floor) but we did talk to some other guests on the ground floor who were annoyed by it. If you don't want to hear the music, you might want to request an upper floor unit. From the other side of our unit, the fireworks from Epcot were visible every night. We could hear them, but couldn't see them from our unit. You can request to be on the fireworks side also.

The location is convenient and easy to get to, but you really do need a car to get around. Closest Wal Mart or Publix for groceries is a good 10 min. or so away. Downtown Disney is only about a mile or so by car. The resort does offer transportation shuttles to the Disney parks for free, and to other parks for a fee. The definite hidden gem of the resort is the La Cocina Pizzeria! Definitely order pizza to be delivered to your room. Excellent pizza, to our room in about 20 minutes!

Now....the bad news. AVOID the timeshare meeting! I understand that this IS a timeshare property, and as owners we have been through many of these deals. This one is NOT worth whatever gift you get. They tell you it will be 45 minutes, but ours lasted 2 hours, and that was with us already knowing most of the stuff about Wyndham Resorts, such as booking online, etc., AND with us telling them right up front that we were NOT interested in purchasing more at this time. If you are a potential new owner, I can not even imagine how much of your day they will suck up! We finally told the "manager" in no uncertain terms, after their second offer to buy more points, to give us our gift and get us out of there. We still had to see one more person, and we reported the manager for being so rude to us and "dismissing" us with a wave of his hand. The $50 gift card did not make up for 2 hours of time lost out of our vacation. We have already decided that until we want to upgrade our Wyndham points, we will be skipping these meetings entirely. Expect phone calls and cards under your door if you don't go, but still not as stressful as being cooped up in this cattle call for 2 hours!

Overall a great resort! Just beware of the timeshare sharks!

We love staying in timeshare resorts because we love having 2 bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room. I don't know how families with kids can stay in a single small hotel room with two beds. Here's a tip. Don't every purchase a timeshare. You can rent a week from other owners for about what they pay in annual maintenance fees. We rented our week for $900. We do this every year when we go on vacation and we aren't locked into one resort, exchanges, points or tying up 10,000 to 20,000 of our money. We got this rental off Ebay. No one pestered us about attending a presentation, breakfast or anything else.

Good points about this resort: Very nice, newer property. Super close to Disney. Great heated pools. Two pools are zero depth entry which is great for little kids. Kids loved the mini golf and the playground. The latch on our sliding door broke so the door wouldn't lock. We called maintenance, went to dinner, came back and it was fixed with a note and a phone call message asking if everything was taken care of. Nice.

Bad points: Minor things. This is a large property with many high rise buildings. So there are elevators, long hallways, parking ramps, etc. We've stayed at Marriott timeshares in Orlando where you park right outside your unit and walk in. Marriotts also had large screened in porches on each unit where you could just leave your door open and have more of an indoor/outdoor feeling. At the Wyndham you didn't have a screen so you were always kind of sealed inside when you were in your unit. But this Wyndham is much nicer than Marriotts. An onsite restaurant would be great. There are a couple of limited menu takeout type places onsite, but we drove every night to go have dinner. Downtown Disney is very close and there's a brand new Hilton next door that has a great breakfast buffet and an excellent Italian restaurant. It would be very hard to stay here without a car. But I think that's true of most everywhere in Orlando.

I cannot say enough about this place. The service was spectacular. If you are looking for a place to chill..........this is a great place. Went for a girls week and had a blast. The location is perfect and the rooms are fabulous. If you are looking to do some heavy partying this is not the place for you. Mostly family and older couples. The rooms have all the amenties of home. You and cook in and save. Plenty to do for the young ones. You must try their pizza, it was suprisingly delcious and delivered to your room. The cafes have salads and rollups.

This was a nice resort...stayed w/my two teen boys during spring break... Pool and hot tubs were wonderful and relaxing.. DO NOT take the timeshare tour... Not worth your time. Very misleading.. Thought we were getting 4 FREE tickets to Disney... however they were going tg discount us Disney tickets. after taking three hours away from our family vacation time. I wouldn't recommend it.. Winn Dixie and ABC store great for stocking up on supplies for the week.. also there's a Walmart super store nearby... The front desk was very accommodating about a room change..Definitely try the whirlpool tub .. so relaxing... Not much night time activity.. DOn't miss the 2:00/3:00pm Ice cream social...Have magical moments on your vacation.

As a family, we've traveled many times and have had the pleasure of staying on BC's property a few times over the past few years. This past summer (July 2009) we brought along our oldest sister and her three children on this trip for the children's first time. Everything had to be perfect, to make a lasting impression on our nephew's and niece first experience to Florida. Where else would we book besides the lovely Bonnet Creek. This time around, the construction period was over and we could finally swim in the newer pools by our rooms. We had a room facing the pools and the pond area. Wonderful view. The whole family enjoyed spending our money down at the arcades. We never quite got the chance to check out all the activities and amenities that the resort offered for children and adults alike; we assume that these activites were wonderful because we so many people participating daily. At Bonnet Creek, you have no excuses or reasons to be bored. You can swim, play golf, endulge in the poolside walk-up restaurants, poolside karoke, and "swim-up movies" on a huge blow up screen on certain nights. There is a plethora of activities that are all different daily.

Now that we've covered activities and such, let's discuss the rooms. I think location is key (sorta) in determining your accessibility. Some rooms are a far walk from the pools and restaurants. It's important to try and get a room closer to all the action, especially if you're bringing children who doesn't want to be couped up in a room all day.

Also, the rooms are very comfortable, spacious, and clean; when you walk through those doors you feel right at home. In the kitchen, there is a full fridge, all needed cooking utensils, a "sitting bar/ counter" , a full sized kitchen table. There is a washer/dryer unit located in the convenience of your spacious room (that you can close off by simply shutting the closet door). Pretty much everything that you have at home is at your possession on your vacation.

The location of BC is pretty legendary. It is located smack-dab in the middle of a few DW parks. If you're planning on heading to DW , you're lucky because you can save a lot of gas with the short traveling time; this short distance even grants you more time to spend at the parks and less time trying to leave the parks due to the long traveling time back to your hotel rooms. The distance to Islands of Adventures/ Universal Studios isn't too far away either.

The staff was very friendly. There were always willing to help. They are always available for directions to the nearest Wal-mart, around town, or just around the site. Bonnet Creek's staff is top-notch in my opinion.

As you all know, there are many different things to get into for the whole family to enjoy in Orlando. The location of BC is just an added bonus. All the fun happens in Orlando and even if you're a homebody you can still enjoy staying on -site at BC with the many different ever-changing activities to get into.
