“Beautiful resort, A Gem of Wyndham group, a few minor service issues”
Reviewed January 12, 2014

We stayed on an RCI Exchange. I had done a lot of research which paid off as the accommodations are truly first class. I know in Orlando area there is a timeshare on pretty much every corner but this one truly has some GREAT positives and a few minor issues.

PRO's:
1) Location location location - This is within the borders of the Disney World resort and VERY close to the parks. There is an issue with park transportation (below) but overall you are a quick 5 to 15 minute drive to each park and under 5 minutes to Downtown Disney.
2) Beautiful Unit - we had a 2 bedroom/2 bath and it was just lovely. Laid out very well. In room Laundry. Nice large balcony off living room. All you would expect in top of the line accomodations
3) Only ONE call re: timeshare presentation. Very classy. We own 2 timeshares (not wyndham) and exchange on RCI so we dont want to be bothered. THANk YOU!
4) TALL towers with lake view are excellent - asked for Disney/fireworks view but MORE happy with lake view. We were in tower 6 which has an adult pool at it, as well as is very close to lobby and pool with lazy river. The views and sunsets were amazing.
5) Onsite Disney employees ie cast members - you can get ANY answers re: parks and buy tickets here which I strongly suggest - the first day we did NOT do, and had to wait over an hour at transport center.
6) MUCH MUCH better than ANYTHING Disney has to offer in a much better price range (based on my research of rates online/non RCI). We stayed on Disney discount property for the 2 nights prior to this and its like going from a Motel 6 to a Ritz.
7) and the best recommendation - would stay again definately!!
8) free internet, free parking
9) beds comfy! The beds at the Disney allstar were like rocks with sheets - these were wonderful

Cons
To be fair I must bring these up especially as is within Disney resort
1) Resort transportation from Wyndham to Parks is limited, untimely and expensive. If you drive and have more than 3 people, its cheaper to just park at the parks. The cost is $6/person so if you have 3 its $18, 4 its $24. Also the times are not good AND only go to transportation center.
2) Need a car - I would NEVER stay here without a car. You need to be able to stock up for a week. I think most timeshare folks and a lot who stay here are owners or "regulars" but if no car, you will be pretty unhappy/"stuck". (Of course this goes for anything within the WDW area)
3) Guest park drop off - Another parking issue (not wyndham, other than that they dont have good park transport) is that guest dropoff at parks is horrible - again its Disney's fault but you may end up like we did getting multiple messages on how to do this. My husband did not want to go several days and ended up having a night mare dropping and picking us up.
4) NEVER had service - I know we kept the do not disturb sign on but we never had the room cleaned for a week so had to take our own trash, etc. We had to wash our own towels also using our own cleaning products
5) HUGE resort means its a walk to access all the amenities - asked about using a printer - its 3 buildings over (as was resort transportation), disney tickets in lobby which may be 3 plus buildings away depending on where you are, pool with slide was across the lake which was too far of a walk (maybe 10 plus minutes?) for my husband to take our son as he has had two knee surgeries in the last year. Just a guess but I would bet that one "lap" around the entire lake is probably 1 to 1.5 miles.
6) Hard to find initially - Disney does its best to NOT acknowledge any property other than their own so the sign is very tiny and if you arent using a map application you may miss the whole bonnet creek area which is HUGE. Its hidden pretty well from the main streets which gives privacy but again easy to miss.
7) Dryer - this is just a "mom" issue but the way the washer/dryer is put in its impossible to take clothes from washer to dryer and not get whacked in the head with the dryer door. Its a size/height/folding door issue. I suggest management try themselves to see what I mean.

Again would return in a heartbeat as overall was a fantastic stay.

Room Tip: High floor tower 6 has nice view of lake and Disney Hollywood studios.

Green Features: I am unclear on environmentally friendly practices other than a recycling bin in room

Thank you for reaching out to provide this information including transportation information for future guests. We are so glad you enjoyed your unit amenities and it sounds like you had a wonderful unit view. Our goal is to make each guest feel at home with kitchen and laundry accommodations. Because we have condo-style resorts, certain hotel amenities such as daily housekeeping do not exist. We strive to provide this information to the guest through our website, pre-arrival letter and confirmation letter. We apologize for any confusion and will work to better communicate this through additional channels in the future. Again, thank you for reaching out and we look forward to your next visit.

We just spent 6 nights at Bonnet Creek as guests of an owner. Everything was great. No problems with check in or anything. We made it clear that we did not want to take a tour and we were never bothered. We did not request a specific tower. We were in Tower 5 in a 3 bedroom and upgraded to a 4 bedroom for the last 4 nights. The staff graciously moved our bags and food to our new unit while we went to the parks. Our rooms were beautiful and had everything that we needed. The grounds and pools are clean and well kept. The bus service was too infrequent for us and we would have needed to leave the parks early. They also required reservations with designated times. I think they run more frequently during summer season. Daily cost for 6 of us would have been 36.00. We took taxis to the parks each day. Cost was 20.00 to 25.00 each way but they easily accommodated all 6 of us and were always readily available. Slightly more expensive but much more convenient and more park time. We were very satisfied with our stay and would certainly
stay again!

Room Tip: Tower 5 is good location next to lazy river. Bus service is at Tower 1 and 6. Great pizza in Tower 6...

There were 6 in our group. Two bedrooms, a full kitchen, living room, dining room, 2 bathrooms.
Makes you not ever want to stay in a regular hotel ever again. Everything in our tower, tower 4 looked and smelled brand new. The staff was friendly and had minimal problems checking in. Other than that it was perfect. We spent the week of Christmas at Disney. Short drive from all of the parks and downtown Disney. Had the coffee pot go out the second day, made a call to the front desk and had a brand new one in 10 minutes delivered to the door. The phone rang a few times, I guess they were trying to sell time shares, but we did not answer, so we did not get caught up in the hype.

Room Tip: Tower 4 looks like it has been completely remodeled. Everything looked and smelled new.

When I booked this resort in February, I had read several reviews about how accommodating the resort could be. I booked in February for a December trip and requested a particular tower and high floor. I was told by the booking agent that it would be no problem as I was booking so early. Upon check-in, I again reiterated the request and was assured it would be no problem. Once you check in you are directed to a different desk(before you receive your villa), to collect a parking pass and be given the check-in package. This is simply a ploy to get you to book a sales pitch time. I believe if we had booked a time to hear their pitch to buy, we would have been in the room we wanted. Our villa was not ready, so we went about our plan for the day. We received a call about an hour later that the villa was ready, but it was a few hours before we returned. The front desk clerk gave me the room key and told us we were in Tower 1, which was not the tower we requested and we were also on the first floor. I told him we had requested a different tower and floor and the clerk informed me that only PLATINUM OWNERS could and SHOULD make request. The clerk then said, "Well, you were lied to." End of story, take it or leave it. I informed the person who was our personal "concierge" i.e. the person who is pushing you to attend their sales pitch and he basically said "oh sorry, come down and see me tomorrow." The villa and grounds are nice, but my family was so humiliated by the front desk staff, we will find somewhere else to stay in the future. We own a vacation timeshare and BEFORE we were members, we stayed to see what the property was really like and how customers were treated. I understand you have to cater to the ones who are owners, but you also have to make an effort to gain new customers. The Wyndham needs to be consistent in their training in taking request or in this case NOT taking request. Our personal "concierge" never contacted us after we told him we would not be attending a sales pitch. Bottom line, if you are not a Platinum owner or you do not book a sales pitch time, do not expect customer service at this resort.

Room Tip: Be a Platinum Member and do not expect your request to be honored.

Thank you for the review. We apologize for any confusion regarding unit requests. Please be advised our Platinum and Gold owners may request a unit at the time of booking. We will work to better communicate this through additional channels in the future. We are sorry for your experience and greatly value your feedback. We are disappointed to hear your interaction with the resort staff did not meet your expectations, as this is not part of the Count On Me service we take pride in. We know that while on vacation it is imperative that our guests are treated well. Please rest assured that we will be taking action to ensure that this is not an issue for future guests. Again, thanks for taking the time to reach out.

I have been an owner at Bonnet Creek since 2006 when it was just 2 towers, and wasn't that much to look at or to do. Now it has grown to be 6 Amazing towers with a separate Wyndham hotel that is beautiful as well. This resort has 3 separate pools, and 2 have slides, pirate ships, and lazy rivers. The rooms are exquisite, and the resort is fun for the whole family. There now 3 different restaurants on site, and overall is an amazing place to stay if you want to get away from the Disney atmosphere, but still be on Disney grounds.

My husband and I travel with a friend who owns time shares. This is my first time here. The grounds are beautiful. There was a freeze during our stay and the next day the grounds crew were replanting the flower beds. The walking trail around the lake is amazing. My husband and I used daily. The pools were beautiful. Our suite, newly renovated, was aesthetically pleasing but lacked some detail. Our stove did not work properly. It was electric and the burners did not make contact correctly. They required manipulation to work. One of the canister lights above the stove was loose and drooped. The ice machine on our floor did not work the entire time we were there despite reports to the front desk. The food at the restaurants was mediocre, drinks overpriced, and service standards less than stellar. You decide if you want to buy into this. In addition my friend received multiple daily calls to attend a sales pitch. The bedroom windows do not open. Difficult to please everyone with regards to temperature.

Room Tip: Get a lake view room if you can

We have been to this resort several times and every time we were there, It was great! Plenty of things to do with the kids, going swimming and play games. Couple things I would complain about is when you check in, they make you go to another desk to get a parking pass and you all know what that means, they play head games with you trying to kiss your butt being so nice to get you in for a timeshare meeting. Just keep saying no, give us our parking pass over and over just to get a way. Tell them to put you down 'do not call' list. When you go to your room, disconnect your phone and you will have a great week! Second complaint is the shuttle bus to the Disney Parks, you have to pay $6 per person per day. It cost $15 to park at Disney parks except the water parks which is free to park. If you have 3 people or more, you are better off to park that the Disney park, if you use the shuttle which would cost you $18 and it is not worth it. Bring an ice box with food and drinks (picnic box) You can save a little money because inside the parks, food is very expensive, $10 for a Hot Dog not include drinks. We stayed in Tower 6, 12 floor, lake view, love it!
