Annie's is a fixture if you live or work in downtown Orlando. I've been going there for lunch for years. Breakfast is also very good. I like their wraps. At lunch, it's a small menu and it's all good. Try the baba ghanoug, hummus, falafel, the salads---all are delicious. The hot food is ready to eat so you can enjoy your meal and still get back to work on time. Sometimes they run out of the favorites (lasagna last time) so arrive early. The prices are very fair, portions are good, food is fresh and tasty, the restaurant is clean and airy. It's a real family-run place: Joe, the owner and cook is a sourpuss but takes care of business. Annie is Joe's wife and handles the cash register. You'll hardly have room for dessert, but take it along for later. I don't know if they make them there, but the baklava and carrot cake and fresh fruit are awesome. You do have to get in line and order from Joe behind the counter. If you're ordering something that takes some prep time, you may have to come back to pick up. You serve yourself beverages and sometimes have to hunt for your condiments. Oh, and don't depend on the website for information. It says dinner is served five days a week (closed Fri & Sun) but I called up recently and was told they're ONLY open for dinner on Saturdays. Plus whoever designed the website picked clip art that makes it look like a sushi place!!
