We had stayed at Saratoga Springs once before this trip, and we were not very fond of the place. The rooms were poorly decorated, everything felt far away, and the transportation was horrible. However, this time around, we treated ourself to a one-bedroom unit and found it to be perfect. The room was spacious and had a kitchen, living area, shower, jacuzzi tub, large closet, king bed, pull out couch, table, bar, washer, dryer, two TVs, and a balcony. We were even tickled at the fact that we had a little foyer. The cast members were so friendly and helpful. Everyone was chatty and upbeat. We loved the atmosphere and upkeep of the grounds. We cannot wait to book again!

Room Tip: If you have a specific location in the resort that you want, just ask!

Saratoga Springs is organised as a number of 'blocks' around the landscaped grounds. I stayed in the block nearest the entrance, and hence farthest from the 'centre' (main pool, shops, restaurants).

It was quiet, which suited us, and whilst it is a few minutes walk to the main pool area (as other reviewers have stated), it is nothing excessive. And if you cannot manage a bit of walking, then you can always drive (but all the Disney parks require far more walking!).

There are smaller pools scattered around the complex, each including laundry facilities. I expected to have to wait for laundry machines to become available, but in my three visits there was always a machine available.

The staff at checkin were knowledgeable and helpful.

It is easy walking distance to Downtown Disney (either way round the lake), and there is a boat if it is raining (or too sunny).

We have stayed at Saratoga Springs before in the Treehouses and were underwhelmed. Well, we booked Saratoga Springs this time because all of our usual places were booked up. I have to say, I was very impressed. We stayed in a studio (usually we stay in a 1-bedroom) and it was much more spacious than the studios we have stayed in at Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom Lodge- Kidani. I highly recommend the Grandstand area. Our view was over the golf course, the building was right next to the bus station on one side, and the pool was at the end of the building on the other side! It was only about a 5 minute walk to the Carriage House. The best part- the GrandStand bus stop is the first stop on the way back from the parks (meaning less time on a bus with tired, cranky kids), and the first stop to be picked up (guaranteed a seat!). Talk about convenience!
The furnishings were very nice and the bathroom area was large. I would highly recommend this hotel, and especially the location we were in. We will stay here again.

Room Tip: highly recommend the Grandstand area. Our view was over the golf course, the building was right nex...

We stayed here over Christmas and new year as part of a 3 week holiday we also stayed at disneys WL, AK and Broadwalk I would have to say this was my least favourite of the 4 resorts but I wouldn't say I didn't like it the others just had more positives. Our villa was in the grandstand part of the resort which had a pool located just outside the block however this was not the best pool in my opinion the children really liked the paddock pool however this was quite a walk from our villas in fact we used the Disney buses to get to it as the bus stop for this area of the resort was near the pool. In fact this is the downside to this resort in order to be near one amenity you are then far from another and although a Disney holiday does require walking around the parks I would prefer not to have to do too much walking within a resort. The resort is very well kept gardens and pool areas all lovely and our villas was stunning I presume it was part of the refurbishment that SS had under gone couldn't fault the villa at all, apart from the noise that was created in the mornings of suitcases being pulled as there was no carpet in the hallways due to the design of the accomdation. We weren't that keen on the quick service restaurant as we weren't that keen on the choices on offer I would of found it very limited if we needed to use on a regular basis only used it once as not over fussed with it. Did however enjoy The Turf Club. One thing I did notice at this resort which never happened at any other Disney resort we have stayed in was the wait for the buses in fact we nearly always had a minimum wait of 15 mins up to 30 mins which I'd noticed other people had commented on in their review which were from different months visited so obviously not due to time of year that we were there. However one tip I would have is that we did notice that by the time the bus would get to the last pick up point it was full and therefore couldn't let anyone on so they would of had to wait for another. I would stay here again but would book other Disney villas resorts over this one.

We are Disney Vacation Club members so this was our third or fourth stay at this resort. This trip got off to a rough start. We did online check-in which is supposed to mean less waiting at the check in desk because everything is prepared in advance for you. When we got off of the Magical Express bus and opened the door to the lobby the online check-in line was right there at the door. After ten minutes of the line not moving we noticed there were only two people in the regular line so we went over there. We made a room request and we know they aren't guaranteed but the room they gave us wasn't even near where we requested. We waited for a different room that was in the location we wanted even though it wasn't ready yet. The Grandstand section is the best because you can walk there from the lobby and it is the first bus stop. It also has a very nice quiet pool.

A big problem at this resort is the quick service dining at Artist's Palette. Many DVC members have complained about this since the resort was opened. There is one line to order and one line to pay at. That isn't enough for a resort with over a thousand rooms. Both of these lines are in a very small enclosed area so you will be standing shoulder to shoulder with strangers. Breakfast is good but there isn't much variety for lunch and dinner. Your choices are a salad or a sandwich.

The biggest problem at this resort in my opinion is all the lizards crawling around. I know that's how Florida is but Disney does a great job of somehow keeping these things away at all the other resorts. At any other resort you will only see one or two lizards a day but at Saratoga Springs they are everywhere. You will see at least twenty a day. In the past I have had frogs jump on me and my mom has seen a bobcat sitting right in the middle of the walkway at this resort. All the staff knows about this bobcat but they told us Disney will only catch and relocate bears. They said a bobcat is nothing to worry about. That is not what city people want to hear. Since one side of the resort borders the woods they need better animal control.

The rooms are very nice and the boat transportation to Downtown Disney is very convenient. This resort is also great for younger kids. We prefer to stay at the Boardwalk or Beach Club but don't mind staying at Saratoga Springs when they aren't available.

Room Tip: Stay in the Grandstand section

My family stayed at Saratoga Springs over spring break last week (Springs section of the resort). It was our first time staying at a Disney property and we were really excited to be at one. Over all it was a nice place. The room and grounds were clean and the staff was helpful and pleasant. The best part were the life guards at the pool. We have been to Orlando many times and this is the first time that the main pools provided life guards. I am guessing all Disney properties do this. You could tell that the life guards took their jobs very seriously.

The rooms were nice but seemed a bit dated, I think that goes partly with the horse racing theme of the resort. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious (we had a two bedroom/two bath unit). The kitchen and living space were the smallest we have ever had. It was extremely tough to have more than one person working in the kitchen at a time. There also wasn't much seating - the table had a bench that could seat three people and there were two chairs in front of the bar you could move over to use at the table. If you have more than 5 people in your group, I am not sure how you would all manage eating at the same time or sit down together in the living room. The living room has one couch on the small side and one chair. Not enough space for us all to sit down at once and relax. Not a huge deal, but very different from what we are used to.

The resort is very spread out, so be prepared to walk to get places. I was surprised at how quiet the resort was. Even the pools were not that busy. We preferred the smaller paddock pool over the main pool since the water was warmer. There is a kids play area at the paddock pool but it was closed for maintenance the entire time we were there. The kids would have loved to have tried it. The paddock pool also has the grill with it where you can order food. The main pool only has the bar to order from, or you could get dressed and go into the Artist Palette to get food. Both pools had activities going on all afternoon long. I would have preferred an hour or two of activities as it gets loud. It is great if your kids are into the games but I am guessing it gets a bit tiring for the older guests without kids along.

The Magic Bands were very handy to use. You can use them to open the door to your room, pay for anything on any Disney property and you can also load your theme park admission on to them along with your fast passes.

The resort offers refillable drink cups that you can purchase based on the length of your stay. For one week the fee was $17.99 and you could use the cup as much as you wanted during your stay for soda, coffee, tea or cocoa.

We did not use any of the Disney transportation or the spa.

Overall, this was a nice place to stay although we prefer the Wyndham Bonnet Creek and the Hilton Park Soleil over Saratoga Springs. We are RCI members and have traded into all of these properties.

Room Tip: If you plan on using the pools a lot and have kids with you, my first choice of location would be th...

Just returned from here, and would definitely stay here again. Disney know good customer service, and after a couple of minor problems the first night we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Five minutes from downtown disney market place and buses to everywhere possible. Lake was pretty, though there is a bit of building going on at downtown disney at present. Facilities in the studios and around the hotel are great for adults and children. Though was very expensive to upgrade to 1 bedroom villa from a studio as we did enquire. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Food in the fast food place the artists palate is repetitive and requires a degree of revision for change, so there is variety for visitors staying longer than four days. The restaurant has great food though, must try turf and grill. We would definitely stay here again, if you are not happy with something they will go out of their way to rectify it, so don't understand a couple of these reviews slating the place. It's a great venue in a fantastic location, with helpful staff and full of disney ethos, a must for families.
