Spent two weeks at the resort with friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. From our arrival the service was really good although we were not given the block that we originally asked. We then spent one night a 5 minute walk from our friends before being relocated. The hotel facilities are top class and the kids loved the swimming pool and slides. Food was reasonable but the rooms were slightly dated. The maid service was intermittent to say the least with varying standards of cleaning & tidying employed. Bus service to the parks was excellent. Overall I would rate it as very good.

This property was the home base for my most recent family vacation so i have a few observations that may help other families. First, the good--this property is huge and hosts an enormous amount of on-site activities for days you just want to "rest & relax." The rooms are new, nice, clean and quiet--never heard the neighbors--ever. It was great. We had a two bedroom and it was set up just as described, 2 queens, a king master suite and one of the nicest queen sofas I ve ever tried. Staff was very accommodating and the place is permeated with "Disney Magic."

The Paddocks @ Congress Park is located close to Downtown Disney and is an easy canal-side walk, boat or short bus ride for families seeking more shopping, dining or just relaxing.

There are other options at Saratoga including the always popular "Treehouse" dwellings (reserve early). While we didn't use the Spa during our stay as it was being remodeled--the athletic facility was first class with many aerobic machines and weight machines as well as assorted dumbells.

Great Stay--no disappointments, give them a try.

Room Tip: We stayed at the Paddocks and enjoyed it as it was an EZ walk from our room to the main facility or...

Spent eight nights here in December. Initially I was concerned about the location, as on my previous trip to WDW I was spoiled by staying at the Beach Club Villas and being able to walk to Epcot, and I knew this time we'd have to either take a shuttle or drive ourselves to the parks. However, Saratoga Springs did not disappoint. The grounds are beautiful and spacious and you get the feeling that you really are at a country resort and away from it all (though we did luck out with a great room and view from our balcony of trees, grass and the springs - rooms overlooking the parking lot may have left me with a decidedly different feel). The room itself was nothing special, just the standard Deluxe property studio layout but it was perfectly comfortable and tastefully appointed and themed. I found the sleeper sofa at the Beach Club Villas to be vastly superior to the one here, but still slept fine every night in spite of this.

Because the buildings are detached and spread out from one another, the whole property felt incredibly peaceful and we were never bothered by any noisy activity that might generally be associated with staying at a Disney property. In addition to our room having a great view, we were also very conveniently located to the Carriage House, so it was just a quick and pleasant stroll across the way to get our morning coffee. If we had been in a building farther away, this would have proven to be a nuisance. So, again, due to our good fortune with the location of our room, the whole trip was cast in an extra favorable light. Might have felt differently had we been in a more inconvenient location. We had a car, so most of the time we drove ourselves to the parks to avoid the shuttles, but the times we did use the shuttles they were efficient enough. Never had any major problems or major delays. The whole atmosphere of this property is just lovely, and I would definitely return again any time.

This would be my third time staying at Saratoga Springs and it never disappoints. The resort is BEAUTIFUL but big. There are internal buses that have to stop at 5 locations inside the resort however staying at the Epcot resorts and having the stop at Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk takes so much longer than it does having to stop internally in one resort. I have often heard vacationers complain about how big Saratoga is and having so many bus stops but having also stayed at the Epcot resorts I have literally timed both and it takes much longer to stop at multiple resorts and to stop an multiple internal stops at one resort. For the second time we stayed in the Congress Park buildings! We absolutely love these buildings. The pool is quiet and relaxing and the walk to Downtown Disney can’t be beat. The rooms are large and clean and it’s a bonus to have the sink outside of the room where the toilet and shower are. Having a balcony/patio is a plus for us as well. We love to make our coffee and breakfast and sit out there and enjoy a leisure morning. The buses ran without complaint while we were there and the bell service is amazing. We used garden grocer as a grocery delivery service and it, like always, worked out perfect for us. The Disney deluxe resorts have NEVER disappointed me! Please feel free to message me with any questions or if you need tips or advice. I have been to Disney 30+ times each time with a different budget and I know a lot of tips and hints to share if you’re interested.

Room Tip: All of the buildings have their own charm and the internal buses run very smoothly.

Enjoyed 6 nights at a 1 bedroom villa overlooking the fountains. Enjoyed the beautifully maintained grounds and walking paths. Took lots of walk with our young boys in strollers and then went on evening runs from the resort to downtown disney and back. The pool is wonderful. Boys enjoyed zero entry pool and waterslides. Resort has an expansive feel and not very busy compared to the other resorts which we liked. Felt like a secluded resort but accessible to all of the theme parks. Enjoyed being able to walk to downtown disney in the evenings to eat like at our favorite restaurant - Fulton's Crab House.

We're Disney Vacation Club members and enjoy trying the different resorts. We had never stayed before at Saratoga Springs and were pleasantly surprised. It IS a large, spread out complex. We were originally going to stay close to the walkway to Downtown Disney but there was a room available at the "springs" when we arrived ... around 10:00 AM ... so we took it. Fourth floor with a view of the springs out our balcony. Charming. Really close to the main buildings and bus stop; I'd stay there again in a heart beat. Things were busy at Disney World but we always found a parking space close to the entrance for our room .... which is a lot more than I can say about parking at several of the other resorts. Since we had a car, nothing on Disney property seems too far. Do simply follow Disney signs to where you're going; don't do GPS. We did not get misdirected one time just following signs .... as long as you know Saratoga Springs is a Downtown Disney area resort. I believe this is one of the older resorts there; everything, however, looked to be in great, clean shape. Hotel and bell staff were friendly and helpful.

My eleven and fourteen year-old daughters and I just returned from Saratoga Springs Resort this morning after a quick long weekend trip. We met my parents there, and shared a two-bedroom villa in "The Paddock." It worked out perfectly for us, but as with most travel experiences, I could see why it might not work as well for others.

As some of the other reviews have indicated, the resort is made up of various complexes of mid-rise buildings (3-4 stories for the most part), all spread out over a rather large area of land, all with different names. The distances between some of these complexes and various other parts of the resort can be long-ish, and there are not many options for getting around other than your feet; so I could see why some visitors who disliked walking for whatever reason would find the layout to be inconvenient. Our party consisted of individuals who for the most part did not mind the walks, and had the good fortune of being there during a weekend with really perfect weather, so we found the walks around the resort to be pleasant diversions.

The resort is in the "Downtown Disney" area, which, for those going to the parks, means that you are basically far away from everything. There are buses from the resorts to the parks, of course, and those worked out well. We waited for maybe 5 minutes to get the bus to Animal Kingdom, and the ride was about 15 minutes. But in order to get to any place other than the parks - for example, if you want to go to any of the restaurants in the other resort (as opposed to park) areas, or go mini golfing, etc., you need to get to Downtown Disney and take the buses from there. That one additional step adds about 25 minutes minimum to any travel time, which is a little more inconvenient than I would have liked it to be, so we wound up taking cabs when traveling between those areas.

The landscaping, as with most Disney properties, was very, very pretty, with large ponds and fountains placed throughout the property. There was not as much of a "theme" at this resort as one would find at some of the other resorts areas, like the Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Lodge areas, and the atmosphere is decidedly light on "character" themes. So, you may be disappointed if you are looking to see princesses or Mickey around every corner. We were not, so we kind of enjoyed the low-key nature of the facility.

We found three pools while walking about the property - the main one is closest to the lobby, and is landscaped with rocks and waterfalls, has a nice water slide, and a little interactive spray/fountain area for the smaller kids. This one was also close to the Artist's Palette (which serves as a grocery of sorts (further comments below), one of the quick order restaurants, and the obligatory resort gift shop), the Arcade (with a slightly below average assortment of games, if I'm being honest - my 11-year old was a little disappointed), and the bike rental shop (which had cute little surrey bikes as well as standard bike rental options). There was also a pool bar (not swim up, just in the area), which had non-alcoholic and alcoholic fruity drink options, and literally just snacks - like ham sandwiches and bags of chips. Probably because of the proximity to the Artist's Palette, which had take out options, I'd imagine.

The "Spa" is also in this area of the resort, but it was closed for renovations while we were there - a bit of a disappointment for us because we chose the resort specifically so that we ladies could go get our toes painted with grandma while we were there, but upon taking steps to make reservations, we found that the Spa was going to be closed during our stay for renovations. These things happen, I guess. But I'd make sure to check the activities you plan to use at the resorts or parks during your trip before making any promises, just to assist with managing expectations of your party.

The second pool is closer to the Paddock villas, where we were. Although smaller and less decorative and with less shade, this one was actually our favorite because of the slide, which was AWESOME and occupied three generations in our family for a solid few hours on the day we spent doing resort stuff. The Paddock Grill is right next to this pool, and offered a few frozen drink options as well as some surprisingly tasty warm, made-to-order sandwiches (we had a grilled five-spice fish sandwich which we thought was well above your average pool snack food). It also has a smaller kid area with sprinklers and one of those things that fills up with water and then dumps it all on you. Our kids were too old for this, but it looked like others were having lots of fun.

The third pool we saw was near the "Grand Stand" area, and was smaller with no slide and no snack bar that we could see. But, also fewer children, a little more low key, and a great view of the lake and Downtown Disney area with that hot air balloon that looms overhead. Pluses and minuses, I think.

The two-bedroom villa we had was great. I've included some pictures of the walk to the villa area and the inside of the room we had - 6727. The rooms are accessible from outdoor hallways. They are well appointed - again, light on Disney character themes, which was ok with us. There is a living/kitchenette kind of area, with a couch, a little breakfast bar and table area, a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, fridge and freezer, microwave, stove and oven, and basic kitchen amenities like silver, glasses, and plates and bowls. It was nice to have a spot for the grown ups to make coffee and keep basics like fruit and yogurt and orange juice and milk - all of which are conveniently available at the Artist's Palette and are far more reasonably priced than taking 5 people to eat warm breakfasts and get coffee every morning (assuming you are not on one of the meal plans, on which I cannot comment).

We had a pleasant porch area with a few of the fountain and lake outside. The two bedrooms were well placed, each with their own bathroom. The master suite was large and nice. I shared a room with my daughters, and it worked out just fine.

Overall, in light of the space given to us because of the two-bedroom villa option, and the availability of a dryer (for bathing suits) and a kitchenette, and the pools and generally low key nature of the resort area itself, we really liked it. And it wound up being less expensive than if we had gone with two separate rooms in almost any different luxury-class Disney resort, including Saratoga Springs, if I remember correctly. So from a cost perspective, it worked out well for us, too. Again, probably not for everyone, but a solid choice for what we were going for this time around.
