“Beautiful Property, Spacious Well Appointed Rooms, Convenient Location”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

I'm a Hilton diamond Member and had an opportunity to stay as part of a business trip (convention and national sales meeting) at the Hilton Grand Vacation Suites on I-Drive in Orlando (March 10-16. building 5- Room 5107).

The GOOD: Location, cost, room size, decor, grounds, staff/service. It's a beautifully maintained property. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic.....from breakfast at the deli in the mornings to a catered event we hosted one evening--Nicely done and not too terribly expensive considering it's a resort property. the rooms are modern and well furnished. Wi-Fi service is good, especially for a property of this size. It is located next to high end outlet mall and across the street from a Publix grocery store--Very convenient!

The room service/delivery service is EXCELLENT. But if you're looking for "sit down", other than the bar or deli, you are going to need to go off-property.

The BAD: Avoid at all costs rooms anywhere near the elevator or entrance to one of the villas. If you get put there, plan on hearing a tremendous amount of guest noise. Lots of small children and adults who have no idea what a "quite"voice is and where to use it. Especially after 9:00PM when everyone is coming back from the parks. A herd of wild elephants makes less noise. I'm sure it is much quieter on the higher floors and the ends of the walkways where there is less traffic.

The UGLY (and I do mean UGLY!) : Parking.Parking.Parking. Whoever designed the parking for this property should be FIRED and then SHOT. They obviously maximized the pool and room space and forgot that people actually drive cars there. Parking spaces are WAY TOO FEW. If you're not safely tucked in by 8:30 to 9:00 PM good luck......you will be walking a fair distance. It also makes check-in and check out VERY difficult. Yes, they offer a pathetic golf cart shuttle that is NEVER around when you need it, unless you call in advance. So plan on a major walk to your car.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevators at all costs! In early.....or be prepared fo a significantly LONG wa...

Stayed twice recently & was really surprised at the high standard of these suites. We stayed in one bedroom suites both times, with whirlpool bath (big!) and screened balcony. The suites have all you need. Walkable to Premium outlet which was handy. Good cocktails served poolside & also good food, but had to wait a while on the food as it gets too busy for waiting staff over lunch. The suites were easy to find. There is a Publix across the road and also an Outback Steakhouse.

Our third time to Hilton HGVC on I Drive was a very enjoyable stay. Hilton provides consistently great accomodation. The staff are great, the pool is great and the grounds are immaculate. Every time we have been to the place our room has been really a pleasure. Very clean rooms and tastefully decorated. The hotel is close to Disney, the airport and many really good restaurants. Parking is a little bit of a challenge but the shuttle service helps.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room choose an upper floor in building 7 or 8 as they are further away from the...

Check in was friendly and efficient. I was asked if I was interested in the time share sales pitch meeting and made the mistake of saying I'd think about it. Of course they called the next day, to pester us again about attending. Just be firm and say no thank you right from the start.

My reservation had requested a lake view room on a high floor, but the room location we were given was a big stretch to see the lake and was facing the hot tub, which was noisy. We asked for a room change and were moved to Building 6, this time with a decent view, but on a lower floor.

Even with the switch to a different building, our room was not as good as we were expecting. We chose a studio, which was all that was available when booking, but should have booked a one bedroom. The room was very small, when compared to another recent Hilton resort stay. The worst part was the bed, which was barely king-size. When both people were in the bed, we rolled into the centre, like a hammock. The mattress definitely needed replacing.

The room was cleaned well every day, although housekeeping had the annoying habit of leaving the thermostat turned down to a meat locker setting (66F), which was very cold when returning at night. If your room is facing another building, it's also easy to see directly into other people's suites, so it's best to keep your drapes drawn at night.

The pool area was clean, the chairs were comfortable and it was peacefully quiet, until about noon each day, when families started showing up. The gate to the next door Outlet mall is a great feature, saving you the hassle of trying to park at the mall. Speaking of parking, however, it is ridiculous trying to find a spot close to your own building. Unless you intend on eating at the early bird special, plan on a very long walk from your parking spot back to your room when you return after dinner.

The location is close to Disney and not too far from Universal and there is an easy on/off access ramp to the freeway for the hotel. For what it was, I thought it was a bit expensive. There are other condo style resorts in the vicinity and I might suggest looking at alternatives, especially considering the price, before you choose.

Thank you for your comments. We pleased to hear your check in was friendly and efficient and that you found the pool area clean and our new pool furniture comfortable. We also appreciate your other constructive feedback, which I can assure you has been shared with the entire Leadership Team at the resort, so they can benefit from your perspective. Again, we appreciate your comments and hope we have the opportunity to be of service to you in the future.

This hotel has everything you need at your fingertips. Nice big pool area with a lazy mile, nice big pool with tube slide & jacuzzi . It has a grass mini golf course, basketball & tennis courts. The rooms are nice & clean. You are in close proximity to all 3 parks (Disney, Universal & Sea World) which is convenient. The only problem with this hotel is it is a bit pricey so unless your loaded check the Internet for deals on this place. I would definitely stay here again at the right price.

This hotel is BIG! Mainly a timeshare resort but many holidaymakers around. The hotel was perfect for visiting disney as they offer a mini bus to all the main attractions but make sure you book it the night before or first thing!! The rooms were very modern but dont expect a full kitchen... there is no hob so if you plan on cooking its microwave jobs only. There are also no cooking utencils, just basic knife and forks.

It is right next door to an outlet shopping mall which is open till 10pm each night so perfect for a day off from the theme parks and there is also a supermarket over the road which opens early.

The only negative I have was there is one restaurant nearby - a steakhouse over the road which was good. So if you want to venture out for breakfasts or dinners you will need a car. Car parking is free at the hotel and there are plenty of spaces tho. if you want to have a drink in the evening the nightlife is few and far between but a taxi to downtown Disney is around $25.
