This old Winter Garden restaurant has a great dining spot - The Atrium. We recently ate there with friends who had suggested this restaurant as a good Orlando spot to have dinner, and they were right. My wife and I shared the Beef Carpaccio served with a sunny side egg on top - delicious. We then split the main course dish of Crab Stuffed Grouper as our waiter had told us it was enough for two when asked. Very good, and the grouper was done properly so just melted in your mouth. A good wine list - not extensive but some good wines at reasonable prices. Deserts were limited as the power was taken out by a big thunder storm, so we had Coconut Cake and coffee while the bill was done manually! Service was professional but in that laid back Florida style.

Once upon a time this was a go-to place for celebrating special occasions or for a very nice dining experience. Sadly this is no longer the case. The selections on the menu are humdrum and inconsistently executed. Servers clearly need more training, and the pacing of the meal leaves much to be desired. The bread is the highlight of the meal, and the soups were generally very well done. Salads and entrees were not worthy of this restaurant's former reputation. In particular I had a piece of salmon which was both overcooked and over-seasoned so as to be virtually inedible. The facility itself has much potential with exposed brick and skylights; unfortunately the decor doesn't not make full use of these strengths. The main dining area tends to be loud, making conversation difficult.

My girlfriend and I enjoy dining out a few times a week and last night we decided to give this restaurant a first try. We both have previous restaurant experience so we tend to be overly critical when eating out; however, ppg exceeded our expectations! When we arrived for our reservation we noticed the dining room/atrium was romantically decorated with antique chandeliers and old brick flooring and walls. The staff seated us at a round corner booth which could have sat 5-6 people which made us feel VIP and was perfect considering it was date night. Once we had a few minutes to settle in to our booth we were able to really take in the surrounding atmosphere. The place was very elegantly decorated with fresh plant life and dimly lit lighting as well as nicely set tables and flickering candles. Even though some of the elements of this restaurant were more modern, the historic feel of an older park avenue building was showcased and it definitely made our experience feel unique. Our server Jason added to our delight. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and made numerous recommendations. Rather than being just an order taker and maker he actually was very genuine and took the time to make a meaningful connection with us while at the same time not being intrusive. The quality of our food also exceeded our expectations. We started with the calamari and stuffed wedge salad. The calamari was lightly crisped and finished with a sweet chili glaze. Delicious. The salad was very fresh and the blue cheese dressing was exceptional. We had a filet and ribeye for our main course. My Ribeye was a perfect rare (cool and red in the center) and her filet was cooked to a perfect medium(thin line of red and pink throughout). The meat tasted excellent and of high quality. The filet was extremely tender and my ribeye was well marbled and flavorful. The accompaniments were also delicious and executed nicely. Dessert was creme brûlée and chocolate cake. Sweet and decadent. The whole experience lasted about 2 hours and was coursed perfectly without any overlapping. Appropriate cutlery and utensils were also presented throughout the meal before each course and Jason did an excellent job with table maintenance. We weren't even aware that we were the last people in the restaurant till we were leaving, which was nice considering a lot of places tend to rush the late diners out. We will definitely be to dining at Park Plaza Gardens again. Thank you to our server Jason, the chef's and everyone who made our date night extra special! I recommend PPG to anyone who enjoys delicious food and great service, but I especially recommend this place to someone whose wanting to have a romantic evening or perhaps someone trying to impress family or friends.

The waiter's effusive praise of the kitchen resembled a grandfather's brag about his favorite grandchild. Nevertheless, this unbridled enthusiasm raised concern for his credibility. The concern abruptly ended once the food arrived! Calamari flavorful and delicately dusted with crunchy breading. Mussels ocean fresh. Grouper, light and moist anointed with a flavorful crab stuffing. The restrained portion of rock shrimp/lobster ravioli boasted a refreshing tomato sauce but the diner was left wanting for a fifth dumpling. At $26 not an unreasonable wish. Beautiful presentation of the "Cedar" planked perfectly roasted farm raised salmon. (despite the paddle-style cutting board substitution for a cedar plank). The curried Chicken salad was sweet and flavorful, but wanting more lump and less ground chicken. The scallops were perfect.
John E. , our server attended to the table and any requests while generously sharing his recommendations for food selections as well as other attractions in Winter Park. Our enjoyment appeared paramount for him.
After such a satisfying sensuous experience, this writer wanted to roll over and have a cigarette.

Got there during happy hour and had a vanilla Old Fashioned with Old Forester Bourbon. Then had a ribeye that was cooked just right (medium rare). Very good. My wife had the chicken breast and it was also excellent. Our waiter made wine recommend cations that were spot on and helped make it a great evening. If you are looking for a nice dinner by Park Ave, look no further.
