“A real treat to get away from the Disney crowds!”
Reviewed January 11, 2013 via mobile

We ate here for my girlfriends 30th birthday. It was a lovely special treat, getting dressed up after slobbing about in the theme parks (Men Jacket and ladies a dress are required) was really nice as too often the dining scene is a little too casual in Orlando. The food was impressive and the service good even if the waiter lacked some knowledge of the food we were about to eat despite trying to recall all of the ingredients! This is the best dining experience available at Disney but for the price (we had the tasting menu) it isnt Michelin star levels I would expect in New York or London but the best in Orlando. We really like the German coffee system which is worth having to watch it at the end of the meal too. A lovely small dining room and a treat do book well ahead though.

“Eat here at least once in your life!”
Reviewed January 11, 2013

This is at least equal to and probably better to any meal we have every had.

We were so shocked to find a restaurant of this quality in a Disney Resort.

It is very rare (this is the first time in my experience) that a seven course degustation menu has seven great dishes, but Victoria and Alberts achieved that. Even the best restaurants struggle to deliver 3 "great" dishes.

The service is knowlegable, attentive, effecient and while it starts as formal, warms to friendly.

One of our party is vegeterian and while the choices were more limited, the food was just as good.

We loved it, but some words of caution:

- it is expensive, if you don't think a meal can ever be worth that much, then this is not the place for you.
- it is pretty formal - dress regs and no kids under 10. We think these rules are a must, if you want to maintain a big night out feel at a Disney Resort.
- don't go if your kids run amok, it will only ruin it for everyone.

We had only one complaint - the reception. You enter via a shared reception with the more casual restuarant next door. It is not clear whether you should talk to that reception or just go in the V and A door. On being directed through the door, the receptionist told us we were early and our reservation was in six minutes. We had received an email making it very clear that you should arrive 5 minutes early - so we were 1 minute early.

For our sin, we got marched back out the door and seated in the casual reception area for 2 - 3 minutes, then taken to our table. While we were "collected" in a very nice way, this is not the way you want to start the night. On being seated we were surprised that there was a number of empty tables, so we were not shipped out because there was no room.

It was bizarre, and at that stage I was prepared to give V and A's 1 out of 5.

BUT, everything else was so good - the food, the wine, the service - that we more than got over the strange reception and I would give the whole experience 6 out of 5 if I could.

“Extremely elegant and well executed.”

I came here for an anniversary. It was exactly that kind of place. I ate at the Chef's table in the kitchen so got a taste of everything they made. Terrfici, romantic, attentive without being fauning and annoying. Perfect.
